CHAPTER TWO HUNDRED & FIFTY-NINE

When they got into the room, two of their father's maids were there with him, as well as a few of their guards; they had been assigned to look after him in the daughters' absence.

“How is he?” Joanne asked, hastily moving to his side and taking his palm in hers. She always loved to show off how much she loved her father to make it seem as though she loved him more than everyone else.

Before any of the people present could speak, Leila shrilled,

“His hands are cold!”

She shrieked, throwing a horrid gaze at Leila and Adam as well as at the others,

“Yeah… the doctors noticed that as well. They just pumped him up with a few drugs and a machine. I guess he is going to be better.”

One of the guards supplied with his head and eyes lowered to the ground, almost shuffling on both feet,

Leila turned to Adam, and with tears gathering in her eyes, she pleaded.

“Whatever you say you can do, please do it to get my father back. I feel like he is slipping away from us.”
