“If she wants, she will come visit you tomorrow,” Denver told her and then ended the call.

Subrina couldn’t believe it. “D-Did he just hung up on me? How dare he… I must teach him a lesson.”

“Don’t worry, Mom,” Diane, who was in the background, smiled. “I already took care of it. Both of them will be shocked when they see it.”

“What did you do?”

“You will know soon.”

Subrina started to shake her head as she sat next to her daughter. “I don’t get it no matter how much I think about it. How can Catherine like that loser?”

“She’s naive, that’s why.”

“Haah,” Subrina could only sigh deeply. “We have to get her to change her mind.”

Diane didn’t say anything but was just smiling.

Meanwhile, Denver reached the hospital and paid the bill for both his and Catherine’s treatment using the card.

He received a twenty percent discount because the Den bank was one of the shareholders of the Spring hospital.

As they were going home, Catherine was watching him and smiling.

“What?” Denver cluelessly as

Clenching his fists, Denver stepped forward.“H-Hey,” Sheryl didn’t like the look on his face. “Stop. Don’t think of doing anything funny. You’re going to get both of us executed.”She had fought the guards before, but she did not attack Natalia. She was not stupid enough to do that. There were many people who tried to kill her and perished. Even some of the council members tried to usurp her and failed and got sent to the dark prison.Despite what Sheryl said, Denver did not stop.“Dammit, he’s in that zone now,” Sheryl frowned. “He probably can’t even hear me. This is going to get ugly.”Meanwhile, Natalia kept swinging her whip without a worry in the world.“You guards are completely replaceable,” she grabbed a guard’s neck with the whip and yanked it.The guard’s head got ripped out along with the spine. Both the head and the spine flew and rolled on the ground before stopping at Denver’s feet.Natalia looked at Denver and smirked, “What wind brought you here? Did you finally make

Denver walked without turning to his right or left.Sheryl followed him and made sure they didn’t get split. The walls kept moving and changing in their sizes or shapes as well. Sometimes, the vines attacked them, and Sheryl cut them apart with her laser sword. She made sure that no vines touched Denver.“Is it just me, or are the vines getting sturdier with time?” Sheryl wondered. There came a time when Denver had to stop because the wall blocked his front.“What now?” Sheryl asked. “Want me to cut it in half?”Denver looked down, and the soil at the base of the wall began to move. “Something is coming out.”“A rat maybe?” Sheryl said, but then a human hand rose out of the soil. “Kyaa!” Sheryl nearly jumped on her feet and moved back.Denver also took a few steps back.Multiple dead men rose out of the ground, their bodies mostly rotten, and they all rushed toward the living humans before them.“Take care of them,” Denver uttered.Sheryl didn’t like to face them as they were too ugly

At the mother council.Denver and Sheryl arrived at the entrance. The gate guards stopped them. “Why are you here again?” one of them asked Sheryl in a not so polite manner.“I will come here ten times a day if it’s needed,” Sheryl retorted in a similar tone. “If you don’t want your ass to get beat, then move aside.”“It’s your ass that’s getting beaten!” Both the guards swung their spears at her, but ropes of lightning formed around the tips of the spears and ran down the length of the weapons and electrocuted both the guards. They were able to resist it to an extent, but in the end, their bodies froze right where they stood.Their eyes barely moved and looked toward Denver.“You look good together,” Sheryl snickered. “I wish I could take pictures of you both right now. How about I make you two kiss each other?” She teased them and enjoyed seeing the fear rise in their eyes.Denver walked past them, and the gates seemingly opened on their own. In truth, it was Denver’s aura that push

Denver’s POV:I sat down at a table in Nicole’s bar.She brought wine, soda, soft drinks, and everything she got in the fridge and put them on the table.“Everything’s free for you for today, so don’t hesitate. Drink and eat as much as you want,” Nicole told me.“I never asked for your name,” I looked at her.“Nicole Nighthawk,” she replied.I kept staring at her.“Is there something on my face?” she touched her cheeks.“How do you know that Nicole is your name?” I asked. Her expression changed. “I understand your question now. I somehow grew up knowing my name, my face, and my hunger. I never knew who gave me life, though.”“Do you miss her?”“I don’t miss her,” she sounded calm. “I used to, but not anymore. I’ve heard people say blood matters, but mine never found me. Neither my mother, nor my father. I don’t even know if my mother is alive or not, so I can’t blame her, but my father, no, our father expects us to earn the rights for everything. He acts more like a king than a father

“S-Santa who?” Sedrick’s facial muscles stiffened as he tried to slide past the matter. “I don’t know who you’re talking about?”“It’s not Santa. He said Sanctus!” Sheryl corrected him in a loud voice. “Stop trying to weasel your way through. You’re not getting anywhere until you give us what you want.”“Who is this Sanctus they’re talking about?” Philip asked. “What are you hiding, Sedrick?”“I’m not hiding anything,” Sedrick replied fast. “Trust me. I have never even heard that name before.”“Philip Nighthawk,” Sheryl barked. “You’re a top ranker, right? Use your aura to see if he’s lying or not.”Philip, however, shook his head. “He’s my mentor. Why would I do something like that just based on your words?”“He killed Doula. That’s not reason enough for you?”“It’s unfortunate that Doula died,” Philip replied with calm. “What Sedrick has done isn’t pleasant, whatever his reason may have been. I will extend his punishment time from six to twelve months. If you’re still not satisfied,

  • CHAPTER 720

Sheryl’s POV:Denver and I headed toward the Data Tower, a place that was entrusted to Philip not long ago.It became quite a sensation when someone very young was made the head of such an important tower.“What do you think about Brother Philip?” Denver asked me.“You met him, so you tell me. What do you think?” I asked back.“He really seemed like he didn’t know what Sedrick did,” Denver replied with a serious face. “But then why did Morata end up going to Brother Mickey’s place?”“I don’t know, but you should stop calling them brothers,” I quickly told him. “For all we know, they could be planning your downfall right now.”“I’m lower in rank than them.”“Yeah, but didn’t you get attacked by Garrett and Gunnar? We can’t trust anyone. You got me, and I got you. That’s it.”He smiled a little while looking ahead. That smile was enough of an approval for me.Soon, we reached the Data Tower, but to our surprise, Philip and Sedrick were both fighting seriously. It looked like they were t
