"What does he mean he fired me?" asked the financial director, pointing at Ethan, who stood before him.
"It means you should start packing your bags from here," Hannah replied.
Both of Hannah's hands continued to hold KG Aviation's first quarter financial report file. Although she could not check it completely, there were more losses than income. She could tell because the table marked the loss section with a red block.
"Can you explain the reason for the losses incurred during the first quarter?" Hannah asked.
The woman put the financial report on the table, telling the finance director's man to take a look on his own. The man started to get up and picked up the report, his eyes able to see the losses.
"We could not avoid the loss in the first quarter. Several things contributed to the loss, including decreased passenger interest in Kingsley Airlines," the man said.
"There are many new competitors in the aviation sector that have sprung up. The meeting below is also intended to establish cooperation with them so that we can attract more passengers," explained the finance director, explaining the reason for the meeting.
"A reduction in passenger interest is possible, but the impact will not be too great on the company's finances," Hannah said.
Ethan approached the table, looking at the same file as the finance director and Hannah. He correlated the expenses in the first quarter with those incurred during this month.
"So what are you doing to attract passengers back to Kingsley Airlines?" Ethan asked.
The man beside Ethan turned his head, his eyes fixed on the young man, "We're only doing the cooperation aspect with other companies."
"Has your partnership been successful?" asked Ethan. The man fell silent with a sigh.
"As expected. You don't have the latest concept to propose to our customers," Ethan snapped.
Ethan seemed to walk away from the table in front of the sofa to reach the finance director's desk. There was a nameplate bearing his name, Stephen Herald.
"Pack your things, Stephen. Today is your last day in this place," Ethan said.
"You cannot do that to me. You are not part of the Kingsley Family. You have no power to decide such things," Stephen retorted.
The young man spun around, looking at Stephen as his right hand grasped the glass nameplate bearing the finance director's name. He could not let someone like him control the company's finances, especially since he could not selectively choose which expenses were important and which were not.
"Then I will leave the decision to Hannah. Are you going to keep him or not?" Ethan asked, turning to the woman sitting on the sofa.
"I'm sorry, Stephen. We had to decide to sack you from here. The severance pay will be sent to your account," said Hannah.
Hearing the woman's decision to no longer hire Stephen made the finance director faint. He had not expected Hannah's arrival here to affect his position as finance director.
Hannah walked away from the sofa, leaving the files that had been delivered abandoned. The room door opened, revealing a crowd of financial staff surprised to find Hannah out of the room with Ethan.
The woman called out to one of the staff, asking him to call the HR director. Over the company phone, the staff quickly dialled the HR director to meet with Hannah.
The HR Director, a middle-aged woman who had been with KG Aviation for ten years, worked on the second floor. She arrived quickly by elevator after Hannah asked her to come.
"Do you need anything, Ms Hannah?" the woman asked.
"Make sure he no longer works here. I will find a finance director position as soon as possible, or if you have a recommendation, please feel free to attach it to me," said Hannah, pointing at Stephen, who seemed to be standing before his desk with his head bowed.
"And because of the losses KG Aviation has been incurring, we will be cutting back on staff. Not just the finance department staff, but other staff as well," Hannah continued.
Her words signalled that KG Aviation would soon be conducting mass layoffs of some staff who were not showing their best work. This made all the staff nervous and neglected their work that afternoon.
Hannah said goodbye to all of them. She walked gracefully out of the finance department to get downstairs, Ethan walking after her.
"Was that enough for you?" asked Hannah, curious.
"If you're asking about finances, the file should be enough to answer all my questions," Ethan replied, crossing his arms.
"The company's finances should be even better now," Hannah replied.
"It's not as simple as that. If their main problem, the runaway passengers, aren't solved soon, the impact of the losses will continue," Ethan said.
"What if we discuss this with the operational director?" asked Hannah. Ethan shook his head.
Ethan raised his head as his eyes continued to watch the board with the floor numbers in this building, "There's already enough commotion going on here. I will discuss it while inviting them to the Kingsley residence."
Hannah nodded. She obeyed what Ethan said because it was probably best for the KG Aviation company. The two arrived at the main floor, the elevator doors opened, and it was clear the guests were attending a gathering held by KG Aviation.
Ethan whispered something into Hannah's ear, "Tell me if you need information about the companies invited to this event."
The woman near Ethan nodded. She stepped closer to the middle-aged woman who had met her earlier. Hannah said in a low tone to instruct the woman to provide information about the company that would be partnering.
She nodded in understanding, fully understanding Hannah's wishes. In the end, Ethan and Hannah walked out of the company building into the company parking lot. With enough of the surprises Hannah had given KG Aviation, the two were planning to leave the company.
"Are you hungry, Ethan?" asked Hannah. Ethan was surprised to hear the question.
"Since you asked that. Yeah, I'm pretty hungry right now," Ethan replied.
"Let me take the wheel. I'll show you a little restaurant with nice food," said Hannah.
Now, she was the one behind the wheel. Ethan's black sedan sped away from KG Aviation. Hannah was referring to the restaurant close to the beach, so it wasn't strange if they served seafood.
"Why don't you take this car when you go to college?" Hannah asked.
"They just know I'm poor. I can't possibly bring such a luxurious car there," Ethan said.
"How about every time you go to college, you can go with me?" Hannah asked.
Ethan smiled at the offer from the woman beside him, "Are you okay with being in the same car with me, who is known to be poor on campus?"
"But you're no longer poor now," Hannah joked, "You might be the richest student on our campus."
The young man sitting near Hannah laughed out loud at the woman's words, "Alright. I have a class tomorrow. We can start leaving tomorrow.”
Hi. Author is back. This story will come back to life and keep going until it reaches the end. I need your help, feel free to let me know if you have any interesting ideas through the review section. Have a nice day :)
***"I have to admit KG Airline's reputation has started to fall compared to before," Hannah replied.Ethan and Hannah were at a restaurant by the sea, and Ethan's eyes could see the waves lapping in rhythm as they ate their lunch. Even though the two were eating together, Hannah kept the conversation about KG Aviation open."I never knew about KG Aviation before, so I cannot say much," Ethan said.As the two were enjoying their seafood meal, Ethan's attention was drawn towards the restaurant entrance where a group of casually dressed women entered. Hannah, who was sitting next to Ethan, noticed the changed look in the young man's eyes.Hannah followed his eyes and to her surprise she saw her college friends in the same restaurant. The woman before Ethan waved a hand, calling out to them which spontaneously shocked Ethan."They're your friends?" Ethan asked.Hannah smiled with her eyes fixed on the five friends, "Yeah. They're my coll
The distance between KG Aviation and KG Entertainment was quite long, especially since Ethan was leaving with Hannah from a restaurant near the beach. That man would take over the checks at KG Entertainment right after Astrid and Finnley failed to do so."Are you sure you'll show up as their CEO this time?" asked Hannah."Didn't you keep forcing me to reveal myself quickly? Why also now you look quite hesitant?" asked Ethan.Hannah bowed her head. Her pure heart kept thinking of the bad impact Ethan would get from his current decision. She didn't want this crucial moment to disturb Ethan's mind. The CEO position is indeed quite prestigious; many people want it. However, the higher and more respectable a person's position in the company, then there is tremendous pressure on the CEO about his ability to run the company."I'm just confirming your seriousness, nothing more," Hannah said."Haha, I've already made up my mind, which means I'm ready
Eve, the finance director of KG Entertainment, was solely responsible for the company's finances. She felt awkward when Ethan questioned her about the financial deficit, something the directors had discussed at the meeting."These few months, we've been focusing a lot on finding idol talents. Training them before they enter the entertainment industry requires a lot of money," Eve replied."Such as accommodation, clothing, choreography instructors, and so on. We allocate many company funds to those sectors," Eve continued."I understand what you are doing. However, I don't fully trust you until I get your written report," Ethan said."What report?" asked Eve.Ethan walked closer to Eve until he was standing right before her face, "The first quarter financial report and last month's expense report."Eve looked speechless. She turned around, walking over to her computer to see if the files were on her computer or still on her staff computer. Et
Ethan re-entered the KG Entertainment office, watched by the employees until Ethan went into an elevator. Ethan was already thinking about what he wanted to do to Eve. The evidence he got helped threaten Eve so that she would confess. It didn't take long for Ethan to reach the floor where the directors worked. He clearly saw Eve's office; the man stepped slowly toward the room and opened it.Hannah didn't seem to be holding any files in her hands. Eve was still behind her desk, while the man was already sitting on the chair before Eve's desk. The door opened, and Hannah's eyes snapped open to see Ethan had arrived alone."How was it?" asked Hannah, curious."Unfortunately, I got information that might affect someone's position in this building," Ethan said, walking over to Eve, who looked confused and scared. The man who had been sitting on a chair before Eve's desk started to stand up and gave the chair to Ethan. Ethan turned his head sharply and
"Come here, you jerk!" David ordered. The 185cm tall, athletically muscled man was standing with a woman who was none other than his girlfriend, Mia. Not only that woman but there were also two men who were always close to David, Darren and Martin.Ethan, a man in shabby clothes, walked by nodding at the difference in status between them. David was the son of the CEO of Eclipse Enterprises, a company in the technology industry, unlike Ethan, who was just an ordinary student from a small town."What's wrong?" asked Ethan, his voice soft with fear in his heart."Did you listen to the lecturer? I need you to do our assignment," David replied."Why would I do that?" asked Ethan.David narrowed his eyes. He released his hold on Mia as he walked toward Ethan. His muscular right hand immediately tugged on Ethan's collar, causing the other students besides David's group to move away."Cause you'll need money to pay for your tuition, right?" asked David sarcastically.Ethan didn't answer the q
Ethan was certainly suspicious of them, strangers who suddenly asked him to go along. The dark-haired man had heard the news about human trafficking cases. Perhaps in the back of his mind, what they were about to do was part of a human trafficking plan."I-I'm not going. Maybe you have the wrong person; there are many people named Ethan in this world," Ethan explained, stumbling while trying to walk slowly away. After seeing an opportunity, Ethan ran quickly away from the place, which was suddenly chased by them. Unlike the woman who seemed silent while sitting on a sidewalk chair, the men in black suits ran quite fast.Ethan didn't run out of ideas; he entered a narrow alley that only he knew. According to Ethan, the men in black suits would not pass through this dirty, muddy, smelly alley. So, Ethan thought he was safe from them. The alley connected to the other side of the apartment block where Ethan lived. When the young man made it out with his breath ragged from running fast, he
The furniture inside the Kingsley residence was much more luxurious than it looked outside. Ethan walked in with Astrid, while Sara and the rest of the family entered earlier than Ethan.Ethan, who had never seen such luxury, was silent, pensive, and amazed. He still didn't expect to live in a place like this, different from his small apartment. They led Ethan into the living room, between rows of long, soft sofas. Sara was seen sitting on one of the single sofas there. Not only her but four people were sitting on the long sofa, two boys and two girls."Astrid," Sara called, her voice soft."Yes, Madame?" said Astrid, walking over politely."Bring Finnley here," Sara requested.Astrid nodded. The woman who had been accompanying Ethan was now seen walking away from him toward the second floor of this residence. Ethan continued to stare at the woman from a distance."Astrid is calling Mr. Finnley. He's Mr. Kingsley's lawyer," Sara replied.Ethan smiled awkwardly. He was nervous about be
"Is there anything you want to ask?" asked Finnley. He had already packed his files into his black suitcase, planning to leave since the discussion on inheritance rights was over. Finnley, who had worked as Kingsley's lawyer for ten years, was satisfied and relaxed."If no one has any questions, I'll leave," Finnley replied. The man began to stand up from his seat on the sofa, followed by Astrid, who was about to escort him away. Seeing him as the leader in this place confused Ethan about where to start. The young man also stood up and walked over to Finnley outside the Kingsley residence. Finnley and Astrid were surprised when Ethan called him back."What is it, Ethan? Or should I start calling you Young Master?" asked Finnley jokingly."You know, I didn't come from a rich family before. I don't know how to run a company and manage all this wealth," replied Ethan, confused."Then you need the best teacher who can teach you. A teacher who has experience with companies and financial ma
