Chapter 14. KG Aviation Financial

From a distance, Ethan, driving behind the wheel, clearly saw the KG Aviation office. The important event organized by the company's director attracted a lot of attention from nearby people, whether they were invited or not.

"Here we are," Ethan said.

He drove steadily, entering the company parking lot with all eyes on Hannah. She was certainly attractive today, plus she was the daughter of the Kingsleys.

"They're watching you," Ethan replied, releasing the seatbelt just as his car parked.

"I know," Hannah said.

The two stepped out of the car, with Ethan walking toward Hannah. In that place, quite a lot of people arrived along with their personal bodyguards. Some even brought assistants to write down the meeting records.

Hannah entered the KG Aviation office gracefully through the right side door. Hannah's arrival surprised the company, especially the Board of Directors, who had not expected the company owner's family to attend such a small event.

"Good afternoon, Miss Hannah," greeted a middle-aged woman who arrived with two men to her right and left.

"Good afternoon. How've things here?" asked Hannah, being friendly and adult.

"Everything is going well. The representatives from the company we invited are present," said the woman, bowing her head whenever she spoke.

"That's good," Hannah praised.

"I apologize in advance, Miss Hannah. If I may ask, what are you doing here?" the woman asked.

KG Aviation's board of directors had not previously invited the company's family. They only invited people who worked in the same industry, aviation.

Hannah's arrival came as both a surprise and a scare, as they knew what kind of condition KG Aviation was in. They even thought Hannah was here to inspect the company's finances.

"I received an order from Kingsley's heir. He asked me to check on the finances of this place and report back to him," Hannah replied.

"We all know that Mr. Kingsley has passed away. Is the heir Mr. Tobias?" the middle-aged woman asked.

Hannah glanced slowly to the side, at Ethan, then back at the woman before her with a wide smile. She couldn't possibly say Ethan was the heir when he hadn't said anything to them.

"I have no responsibility to answer your question," Hannah explained.

"Then would you like to enjoy this gathering while we prepare all the files you'll be looking at?" asked the middle-aged woman, breaking out in a cold sweat and trying to buy time to fix the financial files.

"That's not necessary. You can stay for this event. I only need to check the finance department," said Hannah, inviting Ethan, her bodyguard, to walk further into the KG Aviation office.

None of the female bodyguards dared to hold Hannah back, but they were brave enough to stop Ethan, the female bodyguard.

"Only Miss Hannah is allowed to enter the company's department; no foreigners are allowed," said one of the men who appeared to be wearing a black suit.

"Oh, really?" asked Ethan, surprised.

This caught Hannah's attention. She stopped her steps and turned around, looking at Ethan, who was held back by the middle-aged female bodyguard.

"Let him go inside," Hannah pleaded.

"But Miss, we cannot-"

"Or shall I complain directly to the heir about what happened here?!" threatened Hannah.

Her words were obeyed by the man. His right hand, which was outstretched, began to lower as he turned his head sharply toward Ethan. Hannah walked with Ethan to enter the finance department on the fourth floor.

"Please forgive them," Hannah pleaded.

"You don't have to worry about it. They're not entirely wrong," Ethan said.

The elevator doors opened, revealing a spacious room with dozens of computers operated by the finance staff. Hannah and Ethan's arrival was the center of their attention; not a few knew who Hannah was.

"Ms. Hannah," said a female staff member, standing tall and bowing her head.

The staff who had been working for a long time knew who Hannah was, but not the new staff. They were even confused by what their seniors were doing at work.

"Make sure you calculate the costs well!" said a man, coming out of a room along with a woman dressed in a white blouse.

The man noticed the arrival of someone important from the Kingsley Family. With quick steps, the man strode over to Hannah to greet her warmly.

"M-Miss Hannah. It is an honor to welcome you here," the man said, bowing his head.

Seeing the head of the finance department bow to Hannah surprised many staff. The man was known as a strict and disciplined leader but seemed gentle and friendly when he met Hannah.

They all did the same as the man, bowing their heads in respect, though not many knew who Hannah was.

"Is there anything you need here, Miss Hannah?" the man asked, trembling.

Hannah walked past the man, allowing him to follow her, "I'm here to check KG Aviation's financial report for the first quarter."

"Ah, about that ... we were—"

"What do you mean? Bring the documents at once!" commanded Hannah, her voice so loud that the finance staff began to bustle to work.

Ethan stepped quietly closer to Hannah, whispering something into the woman's ear while closing the gap between them.

"Tell me you need the financial report for this month and the meeting below," Ethan whispered. Hannah replied with a slow nod of her head.

"Not only the first quarter report, but I also need this month's financial report and the financial report for the event below!" Hannah emphasized.

Now, it wasn't just the head financial director who was going the extra mile; the entire staff in this place began to gather KG Aviation's expense records. They collected everything in its pure form, unrevised by the director.

"Bring everything into that room. I want it as soon as possible!" said Hannah, speaking loudly and making the staff work extra hard to fulfill her wishes.

Hannah and Ethan walked past the computers where the staff worked until they reached the finance director's office, where the man was busy looking for the financial report files for the first quarter.

A staff member was annoyed that he had to do extra work to compile this month's financial report, "Who the hell is that woman? How dare she boss us around?"

"Watch your language! She's the third child of the Kingsley Family," said the female staff.

The staffer was surprised, as he was new to the company and had never seen Hannah before. He began to work extra hard to keep his job from being ruined.

Hannah sat comfortably on a sofa, and some of the company's waiters served her a cold drink. Ethan, however, chose to stand with his back against the wall.

They worked so quickly that it didn't take long before the files Hannah wanted were on the table. The finance director's man sat on a couch, visibly moving his hands to deal with his nerves.

The incident made the other staff curious. They huddled outside the director's office while peering into the room, curious to know what they were discussing.

Ethan, who saw their gesture, began closing the curtains and letting the room dim and private. Hannah picked up the financial report for the first quarter, a sizable file with important notes and more expenses than income.

As Hannah went through the first file, Ethan walked over and took the current month's financial report. The moment made the finance director shocked and told Ethan not to look at it, the company's privacy.

"Shut the fuck up and don't talk!" said Ethan, telling the finance director to shut his mouth.

"What did you say?!" the man groaned.

He couldn't accept Hannah's bodyguard saying such a thing. He considered his job much higher than Ethan's.

"Don't yell at him. You have no idea what will happen to you if you keep doing that," Hannah said.

Surprisingly, Ethan slammed this month's financial report file on the ground hard. That infuriated the finance director even more and made him want to kick the ignorant bodyguard's ass.

The man roughly grabbed Ethan by the collar of his shirt, causing Hannah to flinch and break up the fight.

"Spending too much on nothing, the working trip for the board of directors almost took up half of the total expenditure!" Ethan scolded.

"What do you know about company finances?!" snapped the finance director, unwilling to have his job insulted by Hannah's bodyguard.

Ethan pushed hard on the man's body, who grabbed him until he fell on the room floor. Ethan also took the financial report for the event below, and the results were just as disappointing as before.

Instead, he tore up the paper and threw it at the man who sat on the floor, sour-faced and his heart burning with anger.

"Hannah," Ethan called.

"Yes. Do you need anything, Mr. Ethan?" asked Hannah.

The finance director widened his eyes; he had just heard Hannah call his bodyguard 'Mr'.

"Mr?" the man asked.

Ethan pointed at the man before him harshly, "Fire him!"
