Chapter 7. Heirs Luxury

Feeling humiliated by Ethan, Sara turned around quickly and left Ethan's office without saying goodbye. Her body disappeared after she passed through the wooden door of Ethan's room.

Ethan took a deep breath. He felt that with this situation, his burden as the Kingsley heir would be even heavier and more difficult. However, Ethan couldn't complain. He wanted this new life, and he had to accept it with its consequences.

Looking at the clock on the wall, it was 9pm, a sign for Ethan to start resting his body. He closed the book he was reading and would resume it the next day.

He walked away from his desk to leave the room. Just as Ethan was outside about to lock the door using his fingerprint, he was shocked by a rough tug from a man who was waiting for him there.

Ethan looked back; he was Luke Kingsley, Sara's second son. Luke roughly grabbed Ethan by the collar and slammed Ethan's body against the wall.

"How dare you make my mom cry!" snapped Luke. Ethan squinted with his eyebrows raised.

"It's not my fault she's crying. She made a request I couldn't fulfill," Ethan said, trying to explain the previous occurrence to Luke.

"What request? You'd better tell me the truth, or I'll beat the shit out of you!" moaned Luke, his face flushed with tears in his eyes, his heart aching to see his mother walk out of Ethan's room with puffy tears in her eyes.

Ethan held tightly to Luke's hand that was clutching his collar. Their eyes clashed for a long time and would probably end up in a fight if no one broke them apart.

"I have no such obligation to tell you," Ethan said sternly as he released Luke's strong grip.

"I knew it. You're a stubborn man. I should have killed you the first day we met!" threatened Luke.

The dispute between Ethan and Luke was seen by Katherine, who had just come out of her room. She was seen coming out with a shirtless, blond-haired, and fit man.

"What are you doing, Luke?" asked Katherine, speaking with a staggering body.

The 178cm tall, smooth white-skinned, medium-breasted, shoulder-length-haired, round-eyed woman with black pupils appeared to be in love with the man in her arms.

Even more surprising, Katherine came out of her room wearing only a bikini, making Ethan widen his eyes, amazed at the beauty of Katherine's body.

"This bastard has made our mother cry. I should teach him a lesson!" growled Luke, still clutching Ethan's shirt collar to make the man's clothes tattered.

"Really? Why would you do such a terrible thing, Ethan?" asked Katherine, looking sadly at Ethan.

"I just couldn't fulfill her request. Not that I abused her or yelled at her!" shouted Ethan.

"Liar! My mom is crying her eyes out. There must be something wrong between you two," said Luke.

An upset Ethan pushed Luke's body with all his might, making the man release his grip and fall on the floor. Katherine, who saw the moment, immediately delivered a hard slap to Ethan's left cheek.

"How dare you do that to my family, you son of a bitch!" Katherine snapped.

Although Ethan was older than Katherine, the woman did not hesitate to express her frustration to Ethan, even using violence.

"You two don't know anything about my conversation with Sara, but you already assume I'm at fault!" Ethan snapped.

The man in Katherine's arms suddenly said goodbye to the woman. He went back into Katherine's room to get his clothes and belongings.

"He asked me to make you the CEO of one of Kingsley's companies, but I refused because I didn't trust you yet and also your track record of always wasting money!" Ethan continued, pointing at Luke and Katherine, who were around him.

"You're always busy with men, spending money on luxury goods. You only use the Kingsley wealth for your own prestige consumption," Ethan said, pointing at Katherine, who was still standing beside him.

"You're the same way. You have a lot of cars and motorcycles in your collection, but when given a position, you refuse because you're lazy and boring!" said Ethan, snapping at Luke by revealing the facts he had gotten from Finnley.

"For that reason, I cannot possibly give you an important position in a company. I'm afraid you'll use the company's revenue for your own purposes," Ethan retorted, thinking of the worst-case scenario if one of them became CEO.

Hearing the noise on the third floor made Astrid, who was on the second floor, curious. She was with her coworkers and immediately moved towards the floor to find out what was happening.

She saw Ethan, Katherine, and Luke on the third floor of the Kingsley residence. Astrid walked over to Ethan while checking the man's condition and saw a red bruise on Ethan's left cheek from Katherine's slap.

"Who did this?! Have you forgotten the agreement between the heirs?!" snapped Astrid, scolding Katherine and Luke.

"I can report you to Finnley about this," Astrid continued.

Ethan grabbed his bodyguard by the shoulders, and Astrid immediately turned her face to look at Ethan. She saw a smile on the man's face, signaling that he was okay with this injury.

"It's just a sign of my new family. We're just getting to know each other," Ethan said.

"But that cannot be taken as—"

"Forget about it. It's late. It's not good to fight when others are asleep," Ethan interrupted, asking Luke and Katherine to return to their room.

"This discussion is over. Change your manners if you want your mother to stop crying." Ethan walked to the right, heading for his bedroom, which was on the top floor of the residence, the fourth floor.

Astrid went with Ethan, accompanying him to his room safely. Astrid realized that Ethan's safety was at risk, so leaving the man alone without an escort would be dangerous.

"They're such a bother," Astrid said, Ethan laughing at that.

"They're jealous," Ethan retorted.

"Jealous?" Astrid wondered why Ethan would say that.

"Me, who wasn't born in this place, was able to get a bigger inheritance share than them. I'm sure most of them would say it's not fair," Ethan said.

They entered the house's elevator to get to the top floor. Only the main heir's room was on that floor. For Sara and her children, they lived on the third floor.

The second floor was used for entertainment, such as an indoor swimming pool, sauna, billiards, and several rooms for bodyguards, while the first floor was used for the kitchen and maid's room in this house.

It could be said that Ethan was privileged to be the heir to this house. In addition to great privileges, he also had a great responsibility to run Kingsley's business.

They arrived at the fourth floor. Ethan asked Astrid not to follow him into the room for privacy reasons. Astrid realized that and didn't argue. He also left a note for tomorrow's activities.

"We're going to visit Eclipse Enterprises tomorrow. So, prepare yourself, Young Master," Astrid requested.

Ethan nodded. They both waved goodbye to each other until the elevator doors closed. The fourth floor was directly connected to the roof of the Kingsley residence, a suitable place to contemplate something.

He walked over to his bedroom and opened the door. He saw a room that was even larger than his office on the third floor. In fact, if you looked closely, Ethan's room could be made into three small apartments.

There were wardrobes, king-size beds, large windows, desks, sofas, television, and even entertainment needs such as game consoles. Everything was available here, making Ethan occasionally pinch his cheeks, hoping that all this was not a dream.

"So, this is what you call luxury?"
