“Kick him out of this house. That is my wish.”
Everyone in the mansion knew that Jurgen is Gaston’s best friend. So, when Divine and Jurgen heard this from Gaston, they thought they heard him wrong.
“You were joking, weren’t you?” Jurgen asked. “Did you just ask Miss Divine to fire me?”
Glancing at Jurgen, Gaston replied, “You heard me right. I asked her to send you away.”
“Are y-you still drunk?” Jurgen asked. “I know you are mad at me b-but this is t-too much. If you kick me out of here, where will I go?”
“Why should I worry about that? You’re not a child anymore, Jurgen.”
“Gaston!” Jurgen raised his voice as he could not calm down. “Why a-are you doing this? We're friends!”
Friends? That was the most hilarious word for Gaston.
“Please calm down,” Divine meddled. She placed her hands on Gaston’s shoulder and said, “Gaston, I don’t know why you are being like this. But Jurgen is your friend. Even if the two of you had a fight, this is not the right way to fix it.”
Gaston removed Divine’s hands from his shoulder as he looked back at her. “You said you will grant any of my wishes. Can’t you just do me a favor?”
Divine does not care about Jurgen. But she knew very well how much Gaston cares for Jurgen and worried why he’s being indifferent.
‘Is it because Jurgen told me Gaston’s secret?’ Divine guessed.
“Are you mad that Jurgen told me about your feelings for me?” Divine asked.
Gaston ceased while Jurgen stared at Divine while hoping to be saved.
“This is because of me, am I right?” Divine inquired. “Please don’t get angry at Jurgen. If you are worried that it will affect our relationship as friends, then don’t be. In fact, Jurgen did the right thing. He did the right thing telling me that you like me, Gaston.”
It was an indirect confession. Divine’s words could mean that she likes Gaston too and this should be enough to calm him down. If it was the old Gaston, he might fall into her trap. But he’s not the same anymore.
“I wasn’t mad because Jurgen lied to you,” Gaston answered. “I wanted Jurgen out because I don’t want to see his face anymore. He made a lot of mistake in work.”
‘Lie to me? Does it mean he’s denying that he likes me?’ Having this thought, Divine’s face turned pale. Even so, he forced a smile and replied, “I s-see. So, you just hate your friend?”
“Jurgen isn’t my friend,” Gaston said. “Now that I will manage the Hamington corporation, I don’t want to hang out with someone like him. A good for nothing guard.”
“What did you say?!” Jurgen shouted as he walked closer to Gaston. He grabbed his collar and pulled him. “Hey. I tried so hard to understand you. But you’re crossing the line, Gaston. You are mad at me, damn fine. But to treat me like a bug just because you gained authority? Why do you have to stoop lowly and arrogantly? You are not the Gaston I knew!”
What was the Gaston that everyone knew?
A pushover. He tried to be kind and loyal but in the end, he died. Now, he’s tired of being that kind of a person. He needs to punish those who wronged him.
“Then forget the Gaston you knew,” Gaston responded while glaring at Jurgen. “That Gaston will never come back. You can never steal what’s mine, Jurgen. Never.”
Jurgen narrowed his eyes while shaking his head in disbelief. ‘Why did he change so much?’ Jurgen asked the question in his head.
Gaston pushed Jurgen away and added, “So, get out of here and never appear in my life. Seeing you makes me puke.”
Jurgen clenched his fists. He would not accept this easily. ‘I can’t lose this job. I need money!’ Jurgen told himself before he raised his hand.
“Gaston you son of a b*…”
“WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS?”
Jurgen stopped his hand mid-air. The three of them turned their heads and looked at the Chairman.
With hands behind his back, Harold came closer and observed the situation.
“I was waiting for Gaston to come into my office. But since he was taking too long, I came out and saw this. Care to explain?” Harold inquired.
Jurgen put his hand down while catching his breath. Gaston fixed his collar and turned his head away.
Divine, who witnessed everything, forced a smile on her lips before she responded to Harold.
“Grandpa. There was a little misunderstanding between Secretary Gaston and Guard Jurgen. But you don’t need to worry. I will handle it.”
When Divine said that she would handle it, Jurgen’s hands trembled.
He knew it.
Jurgen knows that Divine will kick him out of the house. And that is all because of Gaston. Thinking like this, Jurgen sent a piercing glare to his childhood friend.
‘Why did you do this to me?! Why are you throwing me like a garbage?!’
“Secretary Gaston. Please follow the Chairman’s order. Go now,” Divine said.
Gaston took a deep breath. He turned his back against Jurgen and stepped away. When he arrived in front of Harold, Gaston said, “I am sorry for making you wait, Chairman. I made a lot of mistakes today.”
Harold only chuckled. “That’s right, my dear child. You did. So, you need to make me a coffee. Let’s go.”
Without turning back, Gaston followed the Chairman and left the place.
He has no regrets abandoning Jurgen.
Not seeing Gaston anymore, Jurgen roughly washed his face with his hands. He stared at Divine and said, “I am so sorry for acting in haste. But, thank you for saving me, Miss Divine.”
“Who said that I saved you?” Divine replied in a cold tone.
“Huh?”
She turned around and sneered at him. “I was tired of acting like a good Princess just because you are Gaston’s friend. Do you really think I care for you?”
Everyone in the mansion thinks that Divine is an angel sent from heaven. But now, Jurgen saw her true colors.
“Pack your things. And get the hell out of here, loser,” Divine commanded.

“Gaston. You should arrange a meeting with the board of directors so we can…”
Harold stopped when he turned back and saw the tears on Gaston’s eyes.
When Gaston realized that he'd been caught, he wiped his eyes and pretended fine.
Harold wanted to ask why he’s being so emotional. But since Gaston might feel embarrassed to answer the question, Harold played ignorant.
‘That guy has rarely cried ever since he was a kid. I am sure there’s a reason why,’ Harold believed.
He was right at the fact that Gaston wouldn’t tell him the real reason. Gaston probably couldn’t say that he’s so happy to see him alive.
“I called you to discuss about making you my representative in handling Hamington. As you can see, many would oppose this. Sonny is first in the list.”
Gaston nodded his head as he lowered his eyes.
‘The people who aimed for the top,’ Gaston thought. Now that he made sure that Harold is alive, there’s one thing that he had to do. And that is to prevent it and find the murderer.
“I need you to go to New York and convince my nephew, Griffi. He holds the fourth highest shares in the corporation.”
Griffti Solice. He is the first grandson of Harold who Gaston hasn’t met. They said he would rather die than meet anyone that has connection with the Solice family.
Gaston knew that it would be hard to convince Griffti, who hates his own relatives. But that wasn’t his main goal.
It wasn’t Griffti who he wanted to meet.
“Can you do it, Gaston?” Harold asked his most loyal secretary.
Gaston stared at him and detached his lips.
“Give me some time. I will do my best.”
‘Within that time, I had to meet John Hopkins. The owner of Hopkins corporation and also… my father.’
Jurgen went to the pub to drink. He was wearing a button up shirt and tie, which are his uniform as Chairman’s guard. Sitting alone, he grabbed his drink and jugged his beer. “W-Why… Why are you… you doing this to me, Gaston?” he talked alone. His glossy eyes which were drifting around the space blinked slowly. With his haw hanging slack, he continued. “I am your friend! Why do you have to kick me t-that way?!” he shouted before slamming the desk. Other customers in the pub looked into his way and went back to their own business. Jurgen washed his reddened face with his dry palms and messed up his brown hair. He was so confused. Last night, Gaston and him were doing fine. They even planned on camping together next week. It was Jurgen’s mistake that he told Divine about Gaston’s secret, but that is not enough for Gaston to kick him out of the mansion. “N-Now… what will I do?” Jurgen sobbed, crying with sarcastic smiles. He spent all of his money investing in a small business and
Gaston has 4 initial plans. First, get his revenge. Second, find his father and get his rightful position as the heir of the Hopkins Corporation. Third, save the Chairman from dying. And fourth, find the murderer. Today is the fourth day since Gaston came back to the past. Until now, he was scared to think that everything was just a dream or an illusion. But he does not want to dwell on hesitating and waste time. If this is just a dream, so be it. But if this is the reality, he would do his best to survive until the end. Ding dong~ After arriving in New York, Gaston went to visit the Chairman’s Grandson. It was to get his sign and approval for appointing Gaston as the temporary person who will manage Hamington corporation. ‘If my aim is to get power, I don’t need to do this,’ Gaston said in his head. Hamington is the second largest corporation in their country. The first in rank is Hopkins. If Gaston needs power, finding his father and revealing his identity as the missing son wo
“Your Grandfather will die.” Griffti held his breath for a second. There was a gnawing silence between him and Gaston. And even if there were sounds of wind gushing and murmuring words, they were muted down. The two of them looked at each other for long seconds, until Griffti detached his lips. “Is he… sick?” “No,” Gaston replied. “If he’s not sick, then why are you telling me that he’s going to die?” Because Gaston came from the future. It was hard to find evidence of a murder that hadn’t happened yet. Therefore, telling Griffti that he came from the future is the only explanation Gaston has as of now. But will Griffti believe him? Gaston took a deep breath. His secret is not something that is easy to share. Not candy, juice or chips which are easy to digest. Anyone who hears this might think that he’s losing his mind. ‘However, the time limit is short,’ Gaston thought. He gathered his courage and opened his lips again. Then he said, “There is someone aiming for the Chairm
Walking in the Time Square in New York, Gaston saw many hotels and theaters. Despite the street’s large size, it was crowded with cars and people. Gaston really felt the fast life in this place, which was famous as the City that never sleeps. When he looked up, he saw signboards that advertise products and a TV screen which showed news about the recent Championship in the Fifa World Cup. As he looked down, the people who were walking with him on the pedestrian lane were browsing on their phones and reading news about Messi’s retirement. Not everyone was interested in the World Cup. But the majority were. ‘That’s why he has no choice but to believe in me,’ Gaston thought. This early morning, he received a text from the Chairman’s first grandson. Griffti asked Gaston to meet him today and sent the location too. Gaston agreed. But before that, Gaston needs to go somewhere first. It’s almost a week, yet he hasn’t found his father, John Hopkins. He went to John’s favorite restaurant
Griffti went to the park and sat on the bench. He stared at the large space then the inspiration came flooding inside his mind. He moved his hand and started drawing on his sketchbook. After some minutes, he finished drawing his park plan using his imagination. Griffti stared at his artwork with a proud smile. Looking at this is enough. He has no plan in using his talent to achieve more than this. Because he knows that with his mental illness, he does not deserve any of his professors' compliments. Sighing, Griffti enjoyed the breeze while sitting on the bench. He will meet Gaston later and talk about things that kept him awake all night. ‘Can he really tell the future?’ Griffti wondered. The result of the Fifa World Cup is one of his pieces of evidence. But Griffti needs to clarify more things. ‘Who knows. Maybe he’s friends with the Argentina National Team,’ Griffti said. “No,” he disagreed with his own idea. “Even though he has a connection with them, there’s no way to ma
After meeting with the Heydiko Project’s contractor, Griffti went to the cafe where he promised to meet Griffti. When he arrived at the cafe, he sat down and waited. Gaston ordered a glass of lemonade and drank it while waiting. “I am sure he will ask me more about my ability to see the future,” Gaston murmured before taking another sip. With those in mind, he prepared some things to say so that Griffti would be convinced that he’s telling the truth. Then, the logo of the mall caught Gaston’s attention. “H&Bert,” he read. ‘Why does it sound familiar to me?’ Gaston wondered. He was so certain that this is the first time he visited this mall. But oddly, the name of the man sounds so familiar to him. ‘I think I heard this mall’s name a long time ago.’ He dug into his memories. With much effort, Gaston recalled an event. After Chairman Harold offered Gaston to manage the Hamington for a while, Gaston declined the offer. As a result, the Chairman’s son, Sonny, became the temporar
Krrrks. Another small cement crack fell down in the center of the four. Griffti and the two guards looked at the man who gave them the warning. They really thought he’s only losing a few screws on his head. “I told you! Get everyone out of here!” Gaston shouted. Seeing the catastrophe that was bound to happen, the guards knew they had to inform the mall’s management as soon as possible. They don’t have the time to idle and wonder how a man guessed what is about to happen. Hundreds of lives are at stake! One guard informed the management and the other ran to call the other crew. Griffti stood blankly at the situation. ‘This is impossible.’ He couldn’t believe that Gaston’s guess might come true. No matter how knowledgeable someone is in building infrastructure, it is impossible to guess beforehand that the building will collapse. Unless you know it in advance. [“Everyone in the mall. This is an emergency. All people, including the employees and staff should leave the plac
Gaston felt the pain all over his body, especially his foot. Groaning, he forced his eyes open only to see nothing but pitch of darkness. “Ugh! Ugh!” he coughed after inhaling the dusty air. He turned around, adjusting in the dark. He tried to move but his foot ached so he stayed on his seat. Groping around he touched the cold rock and cement. Behind him, there was a metallic smooth object. Amidst the dark, Gaston focused on finding the man whom he last saw before losing his consciousness. “Griffti! Are you there?!” His voice only echoed. No one answered his call. He opened his mouth again and shouted, “Hey! Griffti! Grif.. Ugh!” The dust went inside his mouth and his throat felt so dry and itchy. Still, he desperately call for the Chairman’s grandson even though he felt like blood would come out from his mouth. “Griffti!” “Damn. You are so noisy.” Gaston ceased when he finally heard someone reply to him. He sighed in relief. “You’re alive?!” Gaston asked. “No. I am a gho
