The Return of Jason Hilton

Chapter 3

Sean gave Jason a disgusted look, even the guests seemed to look down on him.

"Who is he? How dare he come to an engagement party for a tycoon's son in Niami Hill. Beggars are not allowed to enter a party!" muttered one of the guests who didn't recognise Jason.

"Does he think this is a charity event? So beggars can come as they please?" Another guest sneered.

Alexa was silent, her teeth chattering until her mouth felt too heavy to answer Jason's question. "Why is he still alive?" She muttered to herself. She was afraid her secret would be revealed to the guests.

Jason approached and pulled hard on Alexa's hand, "Come with me! I need your explanation now!"

Alexa gasped, she was speechless, she looked down and remained silent. She knew she was wrong, but her desire to become a rich man could not be denied. All this time she had been having a secret relationship with Sean without Jason's knowledge.

"I...?" Her voice was heavy. Alexa couldn't explain it out loud. Her mouth was still stiff from the shock of Jason's arrival.

But Jason's grip was so strong that she couldn't bear to resist. "Let go of me Jason! I don't want to!" Alexa struggled with all her might. She tried to break free.

Seeing that Sean would not accept this, he pulled Alexa's hand from Jason's grip and threw her quickly. Alexa hid behind Sean's back in fear. Furious, Sean asked, "What are you doing to my future wife? Did you know we were going to get engaged and then married so soon?"

He was so angry at Jason for rudely taking his partner without permission. Sean narrowed his eyes and stopped Jason from touching Alexa.

But Jason chuckled at the pain of being betrayed by his lover. "You know she's my mistress too? Why would you marry her? You're playing stupid, Sean!" Jason snapped, his voice rising.

Jason only found out when they had been in a silent relationship all this time and stabbed him in the back. They got engaged on the very day he was being held captive and accused of murder. Isn't that strange?

"I didn't expect all this, Alexa? Obviously you've been planning this all along? You accuse me of murder and you get engaged to Sean, my cousin? Isn't that funny?" Jason gritted his teeth, annoyed at the woman who had been his lover.

"Didn't you always hate that man for abusing you? I spent all my money on you and now you want to marry him?" Jason chuckled at his pain. He never thought Alexa would do this to him.

Everyone was shocked and talking about Alexa at that moment. They didn't expect a girl as beautiful as Alexa to be so humble. Alexa turned her head to the side where many of the guests were whispering about her and looked down at her. She just looked down without saying anything.

Sean realised, he didn't want any more bad things to come out, so he didn't let Jason speak anymore. Without thinking twice, the man punched Jason's cheek until he fell to the floor, while warning Jason.

"Damn you! Stop your nonsense, you beggar! Do you want people to pity you? If you want money, just tell me how much? I'll give it to you!" Sean was angry and loud.

Jason fell down and got up, giggling and wiping the blood from his mouth without realising it.

Everyone who saw him backed away grinning, they didn't want to get involved in the feud between the two men.

Jason was furious at Alexa's cowardly behaviour, she could only hide her guilt on Sean's back. Jason knew that Alexa knew about the murder of his brother Jhon Alexander. It's even possible that she's trying to frame him. The scarf in evidence and the heirloom dagger in her possession, nobody knows that but Alexa.

No one. Of course, that was Jason's accusation against Alexa at the time.

"I thought you would defend me and wipe my wounds, I was desperately trying to get out of a kidnapping, but I was surprised by this party." Jason said with a slight smile. "Turns out you were in cahoots, there's no way Alexa acted alone!"

Jason snarled as he tightened his grip.

From the next room came Mr Donal, Jason's only uncle, who was his grandfather's adopted son. He came in with some security guards, hearing a commotion in the living room, so he sprang into action.

When he reached Jason, he was standing right in front of him. His anger was palpable.

"Jason? What are you doing here? Are you making a scene?" She asked coldly.

Her face turned sour. Her anger was smothered by her emotional outburst.

Her uncle was the only relative who had become rich after her grandfather's death.

She hoped that he would help her again.

But just then, Jason heard a word from his uncle Donal Clooney. Jason didn't expect his uncle to be so unkind when he was down. "Take him out! We didn't invite him!" He said firmly and loudly. His demeanour is so unfriendly, with his haughty face and his arms crossed over his chest.

She stares at Jason indifferently with one eyebrow raised.

Jason was so startled that his eyes widened. "Uncle? Jason asked, not believing what he had just heard. His uncle, Donal Clooney, was Sean Clooney's father. They had inherited a large fortune from his adoptive father, Mr George Hilton, who owned MOZA Enterprise and was Jason Hilton's grandfather. They were still part of the same family.

Uncle! My father, mother and sister were massacred by unknown assailants on their way to Soutles. Please help me find out who did it. Jason said quietly and politely to his uncle. He hoped that his uncle would help him find out who was responsible for his family's accident.

But something strange happened. His uncle didn't move at all, just raised an eyebrow and turned his face away. His behaviour was indifferent to Jason's explanation.

"Anything else you want to say before the guard throws you out?" She asked with a cold look on her face.

Jason was silent for a moment, he felt that his uncle was really strange than usual, he didn't care about his father who was his adopted brother all this time. "Uncle? My father Ernest Hilton had an accident in Soutles, aren't you worried about him? He's your brother?"

Jason was astonished, a change had taken place in his uncle at that moment.

Donal Clooney remained silent, then smiled slightly. "If he has an accident, it's his fate, isn't it? He's such a good man, how could he have enemies?"

Jason frowned, his uncle didn't care about his own brother at all, nowadays wealth makes him forget the importance of family.

"I've heard with my own ears that my family has been sadistically slaughtered and I'm here to avenge them one by one." Jason threatened.

It was so sudden, and at the same time he felt betrayed by some of the people he trusted. His girlfriend had become engaged to his cousin. His parents had been slaughtered by a stranger. And he was accused of being the murderer. Why did the problems come together when he was down?

Is it all connected to the changes in Clooney's family?
