Robert's eyes were still on her, admiring her perfect features. From her long, smooth hair to her ocean blue eyes. She has a long face with a very pointy jaw, sharp enough to cut through a surface. Her long, brown hair was styled beautifully with some touching her face. Robert could not deny the fact that she was absolutely stunning. Her eyes were enchantingly attractive, drawing his eyes in to hers as he looked on."Good morning, Juliet. How are you doing?" Jude asked, smiling sweetly at her."I am fine, sir." She answered swiftly, her perfect smile still on her beautiful face."Oh, Robert, this is Juliet Frank. She has worked here for some time now and l must say, she is very hardworking." Jude turned to face Robert as he spoke. Robert smiled, moving his eyes away from her immediately. "I'm sure you've met my grandson, Robert." He turned to Juliet as he spoke."Of course I have, sir." She smiled as she looked at Robert straight in the eye, her smile intact. "It's nice to meet you,
Chapter 55: Sparks"See you at home, grandfather," Robert said as the elevator door shut, taking Jude down. He turned and faced Juliet, a wide smile on his face. "So, Juliet, how are you?" He asked as he walked to her desk, where she was arranging some things. Her hair flared against her face, covering one of her eyeballs. She looked up nervously and smiled, her ocean-blue eyes fluttering then looked down again. Robert stared back at her, expecting her to say something but when she didn't, he was a bit confused. He wondered if everything was alright with her. He tilted his head to the side with a slightly worried look on his face as he contemplated on whether to repeat the question or not. Juliet appeared to be nervous as she took a little statue from the box and placed it on the table shakily. "Is everything okay?" Robert finally asked, seeing her body movements."Oh! Everything is fine. I am fine, sir." She chuckled nervously, she looked up quickly, meeting his eye then she looked aw
The atmosphere was now light and jolly. Robert and Juliet were getting along pretty well and that was the beginning of their perfect work relationship. "Well, as I was saying. My ex wife and her family started treating me very poorly but I stayed with them because I had no other family. I kept trying my best to prove myself to them but clearly, it was of no use. It's just ironic how I got to meet my grandfather because she made it happen." Juliet was confused at what it meant but waited in anticipation of what it was this great man was about to tell her. Her eyes widened in curiosity as she watched him. "So I was arrested one time and a certain ring my mother had given to me fell out of my pocket. That was after I was made to sign our divorce papers. She took the ring to my grandfather and that was how he came looking for me at the police station." He paused, laughing as he got up from his seat, his focus now on his audience who was clearly amazed. "How do you think I felt that day, J
"Oh! That's nice. You both attended the same university, I see." Robert said enthusiastically, missing the cold air between his friend and his secretary. "So how have you been, Liam? Where have you been?" He continued. Liam's eyes moved from Juliet to Robert, a happy spark in them as he turned."I've been around, you know. Just work and all that but I'm okay. I've been good. What about you? I've been to this eatery a number of times and I've never seen you." Liam asked curiously. He was very happy seeing Robert and wanted to know everything. And so did Robert."Well, I just started working over there." He paused, moving his head in the direction of the skyscraper just across the road. "So I came here with Juliet to have lunch.""Ahh! I see. Must be nice. The place looks good." Liam paused, his expression suddenly getting intense. "But what happened bro? We never got to see you after high school. Some of our mates actually said something had happened to you but I refused to believe it.
Sophia pulled up at the front of her ex's house. Her entire being hoping that she wouldn't be thrown out after everything that had happened. She sat behind her car wheel for a few minutes, wondering if what she was about to do would turn out right. She sighed almost in frustration, hitting the wheel repeatedly. She got out of the car and looked around, tension rising from her insides as she made for the door. She rang the door bell and waited patiently, breathing in and out as she prepared herself for the worst. The door opened up slowly, a maid in the way. She smiled at Sophia wryly, ushering her in."Good morning, ma'am." The maid greeted politely with a curtsey."Yes, good morning. Where is Michael?" She asked at once."Oh! Master Michael said he doesn't want to see anybody. I'm sorry." The maid replied immediately."Oh! Is that so?" She asked gently, a bit of scorn on her face. The maid nodded accordingly, looking down at her feet. "Are his parent's here?" She continued."They lef
For a moment, it seemed like time froze. Robert and Liam paused everything they were yapping about, their eyes on Juliet as she stood there with a forced smile on her face. In Robert's mind, he could only wonder how much of a beautiful woman she was, while Liam wondered how things went wrong between him and a woman of such calibre. The suspense almost seemed to be unending until Liam spoke."So fast. Why? We haven't even had lunch yet." She didn't expect him to be the one to say anything first. She glanced over at him for a moment, meeting his eye. She felt cold and uncomfortable, Turing her face from him immediately."Yes, Liam is right. Why do you want to leave when we haven't even had the lunch we came here for?" Robert finally said, leaning his back on his seat. She smiled nervously, pushing her hair back as she thought of what to say. The truth was that she was not comfortable being there with Liam, especially in front of her boss. But she couldn't say that, could she?"Umm... Si
Sophia stood against the door, breathing heavily in fear. Michael had appeared to be very angry that she knew she had to protect herself. She sighed partly in relief as she headed down the stairs. The maid that had asked her not to go in, saw her come down, looking dejected and scared. The look on her face was close to that of pity but more of consequence. Michael was still in his room, breathing with the intensity of an angered beast. He paced up and down in an attempt to calm his rage. But despite all he was doing, it wasn't working."Who does she think she is? Walking in to my room after everything she did." He asked himself, still walking from one corner of the room to another. "She has so much guts. Uhhh!" He walked to the door, hitting it lightly as he grunted in annoyance. By this time, Sophia was already out of the house and was walking towards her car. She knew it was almost impossible for her and her family to attack Robert alone, with out any kind of support from some other
"It's fine, babe. It's okay. I'm no longer mad at you and I still really love you." Michael said as he continued stroking her silky hair. She was sobbing softly, although there were no tears running down her face. Her demeanor was that of a helpless kitten with her face buried in his broad chest, absorbing the comfort and security they provided. She sighed in relief, an almost sneaky smile on her satisfied face."You aren't leaving now, are you?" He asked calmly, his arm around her and his other hand still in her hair. He looked down at her, trying to peer at her face, but she still had it buried in him. "You know what? I missed you so much even when I was angry. And I'm glad you are actually here in my arms, like I had wanted." He smiled satisfactorily, his eyes squinting as his teeth shone through his maniacally smiling lips."I missed you too. It took a lot to stay away from you for so long, I almost couldn't take it. I knew I had to find my way back here no matter what the outcom
