Robert's eyes were still on her, admiring her perfect features. From her long, smooth hair to her ocean blue eyes. She has a long face with a very pointy jaw, sharp enough to cut through a surface. Her long, brown hair was styled beautifully with some touching her face. Robert could not deny the fact that she was absolutely stunning. Her eyes were enchantingly attractive, drawing his eyes in to hers as he looked on.

"Good morning, Juliet. How are you doing?" Jude asked, smiling sweetly at her.

"I am fine, sir." She answered swiftly, her perfect smile still on her beautiful face.

"Oh, Robert, this is Juliet Frank. She has worked here for some time now and l must say, she is very hardworking." Jude turned to face Robert as he spoke. Robert smiled, moving his eyes away from her immediately.

"I'm sure you've met my grandson, Robert." He turned to Juliet as he spoke.

"Of course I have, sir." She smiled as she looked at Robert straight in the eye, her smile intact. "It's nice to meet you,

He asked as he walked to her desk, where she was arranging some things. Her hair flared against her face, covering one of her eyeballs. She looked up nervously and smiled, her ocean-blue eyes fluttering then looked down again. Robert stared back at her, expecting her to say something but when she didn't, he was a bit confused. He wondered if everything was alright with her. He tilted his head to the side with a slightly worried look on his face as he contemplated on whether to repeat the question or not. Juliet appeared to be nervous as she took a little statue from the box and placed it on the table shakily. "Is everything okay?" Robert finally asked, seeing her body movements."Oh! Everything is fine. I am fine, sir." She chuckled nervously, she looked up quickly, meeting his eye then she looked aw

The atmosphere was now light and jolly. Robert and Juliet were getting along pretty well and that was the beginning of their perfect work relationship. "Well, as I was saying. My ex wife and her family started treating me very poorly but I stayed with them because I had no other family. I kept trying my best to prove myself to them but clearly, it was of no use. It's just ironic how I got to meet my grandfather because she made it happen." Juliet was confused at what it meant but waited in anticipation of what it was this great man was about to tell her. Her eyes widened in curiosity as she watched him. "So I was arrested one time and a certain ring my mother had given to me fell out of my pocket. That was after I was made to sign our divorce papers. She took the ring to my grandfather and that was how he came looking for me at the police station." He paused, laughing as he got up from his seat, his focus now on his audience who was clearly amazed. "How do you think I felt that day, J

"Oh! That's nice. You both attended the same university, I see." Robert said enthusiastically, missing the cold air between his friend and his secretary. "So how have you been, Liam? Where have you been?" He continued. Liam's eyes moved from Juliet to Robert, a happy spark in them as he turned."I've been around, you know. Just work and all that but I'm okay. I've been good. What about you? I've been to this eatery a number of times and I've never seen you." Liam asked curiously. He was very happy seeing Robert and wanted to know everything. And so did Robert."Well, I just started working over there." He paused, moving his head in the direction of the skyscraper just across the road. "So I came here with Juliet to have lunch.""Ahh! I see. Must be nice. The place looks good." Liam paused, his expression suddenly getting intense. "But what happened bro? We never got to see you after high school. Some of our mates actually said something had happened to you but I refused to believe it.

Sophia pulled up at the front of her ex's house. Her entire being hoping that she wouldn't be thrown out after everything that had happened. She sat behind her car wheel for a few minutes, wondering if what she was about to do would turn out right. She sighed almost in frustration, hitting the wheel repeatedly. She got out of the car and looked around, tension rising from her insides as she made for the door. She rang the door bell and waited patiently, breathing in and out as she prepared herself for the worst. The door opened up slowly, a maid in the way. She smiled at Sophia wryly, ushering her in."Good morning, ma'am." The maid greeted politely with a curtsey."Yes, good morning. Where is Michael?" She asked at once."Oh! Master Michael said he doesn't want to see anybody. I'm sorry." The maid replied immediately."Oh! Is that so?" She asked gently, a bit of scorn on her face. The maid nodded accordingly, looking down at her feet. "Are his parent's here?" She continued."They lef

For a moment, it seemed like time froze. Robert and Liam paused everything they were yapping about, their eyes on Juliet as she stood there with a forced smile on her face. In Robert's mind, he could only wonder how much of a beautiful woman she was, while Liam wondered how things went wrong between him and a woman of such calibre. The suspense almost seemed to be unending until Liam spoke."So fast. Why? We haven't even had lunch yet." She didn't expect him to be the one to say anything first. She glanced over at him for a moment, meeting his eye. She felt cold and uncomfortable, Turing her face from him immediately."Yes, Liam is right. Why do you want to leave when we haven't even had the lunch we came here for?" Robert finally said, leaning his back on his seat. She smiled nervously, pushing her hair back as she thought of what to say. The truth was that she was not comfortable being there with Liam, especially in front of her boss. But she couldn't say that, could she?"Umm... Si

Sophia stood against the door, breathing heavily in fear. Michael had appeared to be very angry that she knew she had to protect herself. She sighed partly in relief as she headed down the stairs. The maid that had asked her not to go in, saw her come down, looking dejected and scared. The look on her face was close to that of pity but more of consequence. Michael was still in his room, breathing with the intensity of an angered beast. He paced up and down in an attempt to calm his rage. But despite all he was doing, it wasn't working."Who does she think she is? Walking in to my room after everything she did." He asked himself, still walking from one corner of the room to another. "She has so much guts. Uhhh!" He walked to the door, hitting it lightly as he grunted in annoyance. By this time, Sophia was already out of the house and was walking towards her car. She knew it was almost impossible for her and her family to attack Robert alone, with out any kind of support from some other

"It's fine, babe. It's okay. I'm no longer mad at you and I still really love you." Michael said as he continued stroking her silky hair. She was sobbing softly, although there were no tears running down her face. Her demeanor was that of a helpless kitten with her face buried in his broad chest, absorbing the comfort and security they provided. She sighed in relief, an almost sneaky smile on her satisfied face."You aren't leaving now, are you?" He asked calmly, his arm around her and his other hand still in her hair. He looked down at her, trying to peer at her face, but she still had it buried in him. "You know what? I missed you so much even when I was angry. And I'm glad you are actually here in my arms, like I had wanted." He smiled satisfactorily, his eyes squinting as his teeth shone through his maniacally smiling lips."I missed you too. It took a lot to stay away from you for so long, I almost couldn't take it. I knew I had to find my way back here no matter what the outcom

  • The Return of the Trillionaire Heir   Chapter 62: Bitter Beatrice

Beatrice was in the kitchen, pacing up and down incoherently as she tried to set up the tray for Michael and his "guest". Her mind ran around the whole place as she burned in anger. She was terribly scared of him and hated having to serve him. His parents were remarkably better bosses than he was and it made he wish they didn't have to travel all the time, while she had to stay home serving their lazy and arrogant son."Such a spoilt brat. Why does he have to be so mean and wicked? Who does he even think he is? " She spat in anger as she placed two glass cups on the tray. Yes, Michael was a terrible person but what hurt her most of all was what Michael had done to her more than once when her colleague, Rose was out. And that was why she had trembled in fear and hesitated when he asked of Rose's whereabouts. The memory was still fresh in her mind like it had just happened. She wanted to get rid of it, forget it like it never happened but she couldn't. Since his break up with Sophia, he

He tried to catch his breath."I know, sir. Let's meet with the detectives at once. I got everything she said on tape.""Yes!" Roberts eyes lit up. "Let's go, then." The two men rushed in back in to the building. Fransisco followed slowly behind them, but when he saw that they were really ahead of him, and wouldn't notice if he wasn't with them, he moved back. He looked from side to side as he rushed out of the premises. Meanwhile, many policemen ran out of the building like a colony of ants, each person dispersing themselves into different cars. Soon, the cars were out of sight. Robert walked out of the building with Raymond beside him. "It's a good thing you

The detective squinted as he looked at his colleague. He turned back to Robert with a stern face before speaking."That is a serious accusation, sir. Are you sure about what you are saying?""Sure? Not exactly. But I really suspect that they might have had something to do with this. About Michael, I do not know how involved he might be. But Sophia? She even went to Juliet's house once to talk bad about me.""And how do you know that?""I saw her leave the house. I tried to ask her why she had come but she ignored me, and left hurriedly. Also, Juliet told me about it when I went in.""Hmm..." He sighed softly as he wrote something in his notebook. "And why would this Sophia want to talk bad about you to your girlfriend?""Sophia and I used to be married. But we got a divorce right before I met my grandfather. They will show you their ID cards first.""Yes, sir." Ryan nodded. He left as soon as Robert waved him off."Sir..." Raymond called hesitantly. "Please, I need to speak with you.""What is this about, Raymond? You know this isn't the time for conversations that are not...""It is very important, sir.""Alright." He sighed and got in to the car. Raymond walked to the other side and got in as well. "What is it?""It's about Fransisco." He paused and swallowed hard. "I... I heard him in his room." Robert squinted with concentration. Robert didn't sleep the whole night. His eyes were open, fixed to the ceiling and filled with tears in his grandfather's room. It felt like the night would never end, like the torture and pain he was feeling would never end as well. Raymond knocked on the door several times to find out if he was alright, but he asked him to leave every single time. Just as his eyes were beginning to flutter with drowsiness, a bright light pierced through the window. He got off the couch immediately and headed to his room. There, he had a quick change of clothes before heading down to meet Raymond, and of course, Fransisco."Good morning, sir." Raymond said as soon as he saw him walking down the stairs. There was a smile on his face. One that Robert could not fathom at first. "Are you okay?""I'm fine." He said sharply with very steady eyes. He didn't seem like someone who had sobbed all night, maybe because he was very good at hiding his feelings. "We need to go to the station now.""But you've not h

"Gone? Gone?" She asked, totally calm. She was dazed for a moment. She stood still with tears running down her cheeks. "What is gone? What does that even mean?" She managed to murmer."I don't even know what happened. I met the policemen on my way to the house, and I saw her. I saw her right there being placed on the stretcher. And she wasn't moving."She shot an angry eye at him as he tried to explain what he had seen. He stopped immediately and looked down. It was clear that all he was saying didn't matter to her at this point. She didn't want to hear anything."What did you do to my sister, Robert? What did you do to her?" She yelled."No, no. What are saying? I do not know what exactly happened to her. But I will make sure they pay dearly for it.""You, liar. What did she ever do to you? She didn't deserve this. She didn't!" Mary yelled, crying bitterly. She didn't mind the staring eyes that looked in her direction. She just wanted to know why this had to happen to her sister. "

"Police station? What for?" She asked with wide eyes. He couldn't see her but he could already tell the expression on her face. And that was because she sounded just as confused as she looked. "They don't really know what happened to her, but....""But what?" She interrupted sharply with tears dancing freely in her eyes, waiting gor the perfect opportunity to pour out. She heard what he was saying, but she did not understand. She did not want to understand if it was really what she was thinking. "What are you talking about, Robert? Where the hell is my sister?""Just meet me at the station now." He ended the call immediately. He couldn't mutter the courage to tell her that Juliet was found dead just minutes ago. He took a deep, shaky breath and nodded at the police officer. "I'll be at the station."Immediately after

As he drove closer, he could see bright lights in a distance. He squinted hard to see exactly where the lights were coming from, but he couldn't see clearly. He sped up and was surprised to see police vehicles littered all over the place. He parked his car close by and looked on. He could see some officers placing barricade tapes around that particular area. Thoughts started to fly once more in his mind, and for a moment, his throat tightened. "No, no. Don't overthink anything, Robert." He said to himself and took a deep breath. He got out of the car, and walked quickly towards the area. As he got closer, he thought he recognised the car that was parked on the side of the road. He shook his head in disbelief and got even nearer to the scene. But before he could go past the barricade tapes, he was stopped by one of the officers."You can't come here, sir." The officer said roughly, his hand against Robert's chest in a light manner."What is going on here?" He asked in confusion, stari

  • Chapter 192: Quick Search

About two hours after Juliet left the office, Robert decided to do same. Juliet suddenly came to his mind. "Isn't she home yet?" He said under his breath. "Why hasn't she called yet?" He picked up his phone from the table and called her immediately. The first time, there was no response. He called again, and still, there was no response. "Well, I guess she's busy. I'll just call when I get home." He stood up and arranged all the documents, piling each on top of the other. He tucked everything under his arm and headed to the car."Good evening sir." The security guard hailed from his duty post."Yes, good evening." He answered before placing the documents in the back seat of the car. He closed the car door and walked closer to the young man. "Umm... Tomorrow, some men will be here to do a few checks and fixings in the building. Do let them in, alright?""Yes sir.""Alright then. Have a good night." He nodded and walked to the car. In no time, he sped off. As he drove down the street t

It was 5pm now. The once blue sky was slowly getting darker. Little golden strips beatified the now grey like clouds. Juliet had a pile of documents in front of her and was working on them with utmost focus. Robert sat right opposite her, doing the same. His eyes suddenly looked in the direction of the glass wall, and then, at Juliet. He stared at her for a moment. He agreed with himself one more time that she was indeed the most beautiful woman he had ever set his eyes on. It felt like time stopped during those few moments, and he was lost in the beauty he was beholding."What are you looking at, Mister?" She asked in a serious tone. Her eyes, pinned on the papers in front of her. Robert shook his head with a soft smile, and peered down at his watch."You should get going, honey. It's past five.""Oh!" She exclaimed calmly and placed the pen in her hand on the table. She looked up and met his eyes. "You really want me to go?""If there was an alternative at this point, then I would
