Robert took the card from Mr David, a perplexed look on his face. He gazed down at the card, as he wondered why they would they couldn't talk where they where."I don't understand, sir. Is there any thing you want from me? I'm really busy at the moment so I might not...""Calm down, my boy." Mr David interrupted calmly. "Just find some time so we will talk. It is very important." Robert looked away for a moment and tried to open his mouth but David interrupted again. "Okay. How about you give me your card instead? I'll call you later. Is that okay?""Okay, sir. Let me get it quickly from the car." With that, Robert pushed the door open and got out of the car. His eyes moved from the guard standing by the door to the rest of the cars littered around. As Robert walked back to the car, his bodyguard's eyes lit up immediately."Is everything okay, sir?" The bodyguard asked at once, turning to face Robert as he opened the door to the back seat. "I already called some of my colleagues to ge
Sophia quickly slid a nice, shiny, little watch into her wrist, her pace almost faster than the speed of light. Her shoes tightened to her feet in the same manner before she walked to the mirror in a rather gentle manner. "Why the rush, sweetheart? Where are you going to, by the way?" Michael asked with a slightly irritated look on his face."Why are you asking me that? Weren't you here when my sister called?" Sophia asked back, her tone set with anger."Well, I was. But that doesn't explain where you are headed. I've watched you move about this room in such hurry and I can't still understand why. For all I know, your sister only said she'll call you back, or am I wrong?""Oh! She called back not long after." Sophia said calmly, a sudden smile kissing the sides of her lips. "I'm sorry. You must have been in the bathroom when she called the second time.""I didn't know that and you were going all off on me. Am I not trying enough? Huh?""I'm sorry, babe. I didn't mean to make you feel
As Sophia drove in through the school gate, she felt a warm air of nostalgia sweep through her entire being. She smiled warmly as her head turned from side to side, admiring the environs of the University she had long graduated from. A semester had just ended so the school grounds were vacant, giving her room to drive freely with out any interruptions except from that of the school's security guards. But it didn't last long, for they both recognized her. As a former beauty queen of the school, she was quite known and cherished, even by the non-teaching staff of the school. But looking at the old guards at their duty posts, she felt bad for them. She felt bad that they hadn't achieved more out of life since her university days, but she swept the feeling off and focused on the reason why she had come in the first place. Her heart was almost too small to contain all the happiness she felt, since when her sister had called her earlier. Her eyes were filled with tears she tried so much to
Juliet sighed in anguish as she rose from the floor which she had been kneeling on. She set her hands on her waist in an akimbo and paced around the room. On the floor, various paperwork laid scattered with the cabinet still open over them. She walked tired to the water dispenser and gulped down a full glass of clean, chilled water."Oh my!" She sighed with a long breath as she set the cup back where it belonged. "I guess this is where I fall to the ground and pass out till morning. Then get picked up by Robert tomorrow morning when he arrives." She paused and chuckled at what was going on in her mind even with how tired she felt. "What is wrong with you?" She asked herself with a whispering tone, a light chuckle escaping her nude coloured lips. "There's a serious issue at hand and you are here. Fantasizing about being carried to the car by your boss." She paused and slid her hand in to her hair. "Okay, okay, okay. Let's get this over with, so I can go home and get some rest."She wal
Erick thought about what to say for a moment as he examined her pretty, yet tired face. A blank expression was now over her face as she pondered on what reaction she should put out to him. She had asked him not to come, but here he was, smiling at her under the golden evening sun."Ummm..." He stuttered as he tried to speak. "I figured that you would be tired after everything that had happened today, so I decided to come pick you up. You know, you lessen the stress of waiting for a bus.""Oh, I see. And how am I supposed to take this?" She asked in a lightly annoyed tone."I do not know what you say." He paused, looking down at the tarred ground to escape his eyes for a moment. "I guess it's up to you."Juliet sighed calmly and shook her head. She didn't know what else to say but one thing she knew was that his intentions were pure. She looked him dead in the eye for a moment then looked towards the direction of the bus stop. She sighed again as she brought her eyes back to the fine m
Sophia and Treasure sat silently on the swing, moving back and forth slowly in an almost rhythmic pattern. Their smiles were refreshing and the happiness each person felt could be perceived at first glance. Suddenly, two able bodied men, dressed in black walked by, their eyes on the two sisters as they moved slowly. Sophia stopped, the smile on her face melting away. She turned to her sister, surprised that she didn't stir at the gaze if the two strange men."Do you know those men? Why were they looking this way? What do they want?" She asked calmly, in a very low tone."The mighty Soph is scared. You were the rebellious child that was never scared of doing anything. Why are you scared on some random men?""It's not that. It's just...." She paused, not knowing what else to say."Don't worry. There's no need to be scared. They are just my bodyguards.""Bodyguards? You have bodyguards? Why? How? I thought you hate those." A surprised look danced over Sophia's face as she questioned her si
"Sir, sir!" A familiar voice called out, the person's fist equally knocking loudly against the door of Robert's bedroom. Robert couldn't quite decipher if the oddly loud thuds he was hearing were a product of his dream or reality. His eyes fluttered open slowly and unwillingly as he stretched his whole body over the bed like a reluctant octopus. He sighed tiredly as he rose from the bed, his view of the door blurry and indistinct."Who is that?" He asked as he rubbed his palms over his tired eyes."It is I, sir. Raymond." Raymond replied with a rushed and uneasy tone. Behind the door, he stood waiting even if he barely could. His hands together as he rubbed them in a manner that showed that he was in a state of panic."What is it, Raymond? It's still so early in the morning. What do you want?" Robert's voice was coarse and still sleepy, he turned and looked out the window. The skies still looked a bit dark, the bright, yellow sun being the only thing lightening up the sky. He could t
The policemen looked at Robert sternly, a suspicious budge rising in each of their stomachs. But Robert was not in any way intimidated by their stare. He knew that Jude wasn't hiding anything but feared for the effect of the scandal on his company. As he walked away, he waited for some reason that even he didn't know. One of the officers turned back and glanced at Robert one more time, whispering something as he turned to his front. Robert looked on, unshaken by his stare, shutting the door as soon as they got in to their car.Raymond's eyes were wide open when Robert looked at him. He was totally shocked about the allegations and did not know what to make of it."Don't worry about it, Raymond. It's nothing, okay?" Robert said roughly, his voice not as comforting as the words ought to be perceived."But... But... There is a dead man? Why is Mr Jude being questioned? Who is Mr Mendev or whatever his name is?""Well, I do not know who Mr Mendev is either." Robert replied, taking a sudde
