Chapter Four: Arrested
“You are under arrest “As Nicolas stood there, staring at the officer in disbelief, the officer repeated his words , "Sir, I'm going to have to place you under arrest. You've attempted to commit suicide, in addition to the charges pressed against you by Mr Clinton .I'm taking you to the station."“What other charges are you talking about? I have done nothing to Mr Clinton . He is the one who has wronged me in various ways .“You have been charged for keeping a lady name Miss Clara in your apartment against her will with the threats of terminating her widowed mother’s life who was found dead this morning .This is a case of an act of kidnapping and murder and also with a case of creating a violent fight towards Mr Clinton and three others .” Nicolas couldn’t believe his ears . Is this all true .How can his life turn into a mess with less than twenty four hours ?In a daze, Nicolas allowed the officer to handcuff him and place him in the back of the squad car. His mind was racing with thoughts and emotions. He felt a mix of shame, fear, and disbelief. How had he gotten to this point? What would happen to him now?As Nicolas sat in the back of the squad car, he was bombarded by a flurry of thoughts and emotions. He thought about his job, and how he would be unable to work if he were in jail. He thought about the future he had envisioned for himself, and how it had all come crashing down in an instant. He felt like he was spiraling out of control, and he didn't know how to stop it.As the squad car drove through the city streets, the buildings and people outside seemed to blur together. It was like Nicolas was in a dream, or a nightmare. The officer in the front seat didn't say a word, and the silence only added to the tension in the air.The journey seemed to take forever, but finally, they arrived at the police station. Nicolas was led out of the car and into the station, where he was booked and processed. The whole time, he felt numb, like he was watching everything happen to someone else.A few hours later, there was a knock at the door of the holding cell where Nicolas was being held. He looked up to see his ex-fiancée standing there, accompanied by a tall man who he recognized as Clinton . They both looked at him with a mixture of contempt and amusement. The ex-fiancée spoke first. "So, this is where it's come to, huh? You were always such a loser. Now everyone will know just how much of a failure you are."“You are nothing but a loser . You will rot here. Clinton will make sure of it. And I aborted the pregnancy . Yes indeed I was pregnant with your child but I can’t afford to have you father my baby a loser like you can’t father my child . You don’t deserve to be a father, “ Clara said in a mocking manner. The words hit Nicolas like a punch to the gut. He felt the anger and hurt welling up inside him, but he knew he had to stay calm. "What is it that you want from me?" he asked, his voice trembling slightly. His ex-fiancée smirked. "I just wanted to make sure you knew the truth. I didn't want you to think that you were anything special. And now, I want you to leave me alone. I have a new life now, with someone who can actually provide for me and give me the things I deserve.""You're nothing but a failure," Clara had said to him. "You'll never amount to anything. You're a disappointment." The words stung, but Nicolas knew that he couldn't let them define him. He had to find a way to prove her wrong. He had to show her, and everyone else, that he was capable of great things. It was going to be an uphill battle, but he was determined to make something of himself. It wasn't going to be easy, but he knew it was possible. He just had to take it one step at a time. And he will make them pay for what they did to him . That he will make sure .For the next three days, all Nicolas could think about was his innocence. He knew he hadn't committed the murder, but how could he prove it? He thought back over the events leading up to his arrest, trying to find any clues that could help him. But the more he thought about it, the more hopeless he felt. Then, on the fourth day, a ray of hope appeared. A new piece of evidence had come to light, and it seemed to point to someone else as the real culprit. Could this be the break he had been waiting for?But just as quickly as the hope had arrived, it was dashed. The new evidence was discredited, and the case against Nicolas seemed stronger than ever. His heart sank as he realized that he might be facing a long prison sentence for a crime he didn't commit. How could he possibly prove his innocence now?He tried to stay positive, but it was getting harder and harder. He felt the walls of the cell closing in on him, and he could feel his resolve beginning to crumble. Indeed Clinton was a very powerful and well connected man . He will go at any length to make sure Nicolas rots in jail .It's true that Clinton's actions are puzzling. It's hard to understand why someone would accuse another person of murder out of pure jealousy . Could it be Clinton was jealous of his relationship with Clara or is there more that meets the eye. . Perhaps Clinton has some kind of mental illness that makes him prone to impulsive, irrational behavior. Or maybe he has a grudge against Nicolas that goes back further .Chapter Five : Sentence And New Form Of Friendship Nicolas’ heart sank as he listened to the witness testify. The witness was a neighbor who had seen him at the scene on the night of the Clinton and Clara humiliated him . The prosecutor grilled the witness, trying to make it seem like Nicolas was the only possible suspect. The defense lawyer did his best to cast doubt on the witness's testimony, but it didn't seem to be working.Nicolas felt like the whole world was against him. How could he possibly convince anyone of his innocence when the evidence was stacked against him? He felt like giving up, but he knew he had to keep fighting. The first few weeks in prison were the hardest for Nicolas . He was alone in a cell, with only the sounds of other prisoners and the guards to keep him company. The food was bland and unappetizing, and the other inmates were hostile and aggressive. He felt like he was in a nightmare from which he couldn't wake up.The only thing that kept him going was
Chapter Six: Nicolas’ Plan So, the next day, Marvin went to the warden's office and made his request. The warden looked at him with a skeptical expression. "Why do you want to work in the library?" he asked. "Don't you think it's a little out of your league?"But Marvin was persistent. He explained that he was a fast learner and a hard worker, and that he was sure he could do the job well. He made sure to add the information about his pregnant wife . So when he felt a tap on his shoulder, he was startled. He opened his eyes to see his friend, M

"He said to come as soon as possible." Nicolas rubbed the sleep from his eyes and got out of bed. He quickly got dressed and headed to his grandfather's study, wondering what could be so important that it couldn't wait until a more reasonable hour.As Nicolas entered the study, he was met with the cold, hard gaze of his grandfather, who sat behind a massive desk. The room was dark and imposing, with bookshelves lining the walls and a fireplace crackling in the corner. "You wanted to see me, grandfather?" Nicolas asked, trying to keep his voice steady. "Yes, Nicolas," his grandfather replied, his voice as icy as his gaze. "I have some news to share with you."Nicolas' heart sank as he heard his grandfather's words.
