Chapter 7
“What's wrong with my father, Dr McKenzie? Why the sudden change? Is he dying?” Reuben asked anxiously, he was panic stricken at the moment.
Everyone was also scared, as murmurs filled the room.
“Is the Master going to die? Please Dr McKenzie, save the Lord!”
“What is going on, doctor?"
“Nothing must happen to the Master!”
The room was tense as everybody's hearts were overpowered with anxiety and fear. Dr McKenzie was also confused at this stage, he didn't know what to do .
Roman shouted, “Calm down everyone. The Lord will be saved, you don't have to worry. His condition isn't beyond cure!”
Everyone glanced at him in a confused manner. Did he really know what he's saying? They tried to ridicule him but he wasn't important at the moment.
He felt their gaze on him, so he continued, “The drug injected into the Lord's body reacted as a poison. That causes the changes in the Lord's body and if he isn't treated right now, the old man might die.”
Everyone exclaimed, “Poison! Die!"
Doctor McKenzie refuted instantly, "How dare you say that? Do you mean I had injected a poison to the Lord's body? How dare you criticize my work? You aren't a professional doctor and you can't tell what is wrong with the old man.”
Roman gave him a hard stare, and brought out a bag of medicine powder out from his pocket.
Everyone's gaze was on the powder as they wondered what he was going to use it for, and the use of it.
It was a magical drug invented by the Romans. It could cure every kind of poison. Only Roman knew the recipe and how it was being processed.
In the Black Market, the powder cost a fortune. It was worth over half a million dollars for 1 gram.
The Doctor was against Roman, and he shouted. “You shouldn't allow him to use the powder on the Lord. You guys have to stop him, he is trying to kill the Lord. The powder consists of poison, I can assure you!”
The family members hesitated for a while. They all thought they should give him a chance, who knows, he might be able to cure the Lord with the powder.
But at the mention of poison, they tried to stop him.
The eldest Son of the family, Reuben shouted. “Hey, you have to stop what you're doing. I can afford to let you kill my father! Let the doctor settle everything."
“Yes, you are right! You need to stop it. You shouldn't perform anything on the Lord's body."
“Leave away from there, you are just a quack Doctor!"
Roman was annoyed, the Xander's family were looking down on him. He doesn't like it, and they are stopping him from redeeming the old man's life.
His expression turned stoic, and muttered to them in a cold tone.
“If you really want the man to live; you don't have to stop me from doing my job, but if you want him to die, then I think I should let go of him!"
He looked at everyone's face as the room turned silent. Everyone was cowering in fear; no one wanted the Old man to die.
Then Roman demanded, “Which option do you choose? I'm ready to adhere to it!"
Everyone was shocked by his majesty, the courage he displayed in front of them.
Doctor McKenzie tried to object, “What are you trying to do? You are blackmailing through their emotions! You really know they would want the Old man to be healed and nudge you to go ahead with the treatment. You are really despicable."
Roman sneered, “You are given a chance to treat him but you failed woefully, and yet, you put the man's life at the edge of death.
Why shouldn't they give me a trial instead? Mr Reuben, what do you say? Should I give it a try?” Roman glanced at Reuben and asked.
The Doctor spewed out angrily, “You are speaking nonsense. I have been working as a Doctor for the past 20 years, and I never receive a bad review on my work.”
He turned to Reuben, "Mr Xander, he can't treat your father. He is a quack, and knows nothing about the Lord's illness. Call the security guards, he should be thrown out.”
Reuben walked towards them, and glanced at Roman sternly before speaking.
“Not yet, Kenzie! Why don't we do this!" His gaze is now on Roman, "I will be giving you a chance to treat my Father, but if anything happens to him, you are not getting out of here unpunished. And I mean all I said.”
“Sure! You don't have to worry about your father's illness since you have given me the permission to treat him." Roman muttered, while Reuben nodded his head slightly.
Roman went ahead and fed the Lord with the medicine. The Doctor wasn't okay with Roman treating the old man.
So he shouted, “Since you didn't listen to me about this man, I'm not going to take any charges if eventually the Lord's illness gets worse or he dies!"
Everyone hesitated before agreeing with the Doctor.
Soon enough, there were changes in the Lord's body. The once pale face had turned red, and his heart rate became normal.
Everyone was shocked, most especially Dr McKenzie. He wondered how he possibly treated the Lord.
“Wow! He is a genius!"
“The Lord's pale face had turned normal!”
“Oh my! He should have treated the Lord all these while. How come he isn't known around the city.”
“He is an expert; what Dr McKenzie can't do, he had done within some minutes. Truly, he is a genius!”
The Doctor's face blushed in total rage, the positive comments he heard about Roman makes him feel inferior.
They are indirectly calling him an inexperienced doctor, and Roman had more knowledge than him.
He tightened fist as he watched silently in fury.
It wasn't up to five minutes when the Lord opened his eyes and fully recovered.
Everyone was beyond joy, the Lord had been on the bed for the past three months, yet no one was able to cure him until Roman intervened.
Dr MacKenzie's eyes were filled with envy, and he tried to claim the Lord's illness cure because of him.
“Actually, my injection had worked on the Lord. If it wasn't for my injection the Lord wouldn't have woken up.” He stated, while the members of Xander glared at him disdainfully. They knew he was lying, and Roman was the one who had treated the Old man.
The First Son of the family, Reuben smirked contemptuously, and said, “You are really shameless for saying that, Dr McKenzie! How dare you try to lie? Mr Roman had worked diligently on saving my father from your injection.
Your injection reacted as a poison, and my father was at the edge of dying. Did you intend to kill my father?"
He continued, “You are going to be dealt with! You deserve to be taught a lesson!"
Chapter 8Upon hearing the words from Reuben, the Doctor suddenly felt agitated. He cowered in fear, he knew what the Xander's family could do. Anything coming out from them, they really mean it. Quickly, he stuttered as he tried to beg for forgiveness. “Please Mr Reuben, I'm sorry for the mistake. It won't happen again, my injection hasn't worked on him. It was Roman who treated the Lord.” He claimed, trying to appease Reuben. Everyone was glaring at him disdainfully, and wondered how he could be shameless to claim what he didn't do. Obviously, his apologies won't work. Reuben shot him a deadly glare and said, “If you've claimed you're not good enough to save the Lord's life, it would be better and okay." He paused, and looked into his eyes sternly, “But you tried to stop Mr Roman from saving the Lord just only to save your dignity. Do you think I will forgive you for that? No!”“Please Mr Xander, accept my apologies! Just use this as a warning to me. It won't repeat itself." Dr.
Chapter 9Angelique Brown was overjoyed. Roman had just accepted her invite, and it's something to be happy about. She muttered excitedly, “Thank you Mr Cooper for accepting my invite. You don't know what this means to me.” Quickly, she brought out his phone and put a call to her assistant about convening a press conference. It hadn't rang twice when the assistant's voice was heard. "Good day, Miss Brown! I saw your call.”“Yess! Lord of Xander had been cured. I decided to convene a press conference, and a business party afterwards. Can you do that?” Angelique Brown muttered. The assistant's voice hinted with surprise, “Really ma'am! Wow, I'm so happy right now! When will the press conference come up?”" Tomorrow will be fine! Yeah, we should do it tomorrow!” Angelique replied while nudging at Roman for his response. Roman also nodded his head in response. After some minutes of discussing about the conference, Angelique ended the call, and turned to Roman with a broad smile on he
Chapter 10“And who are you to tell me that, Katherine? You're Not the owner of the estate, are you? Why are you disturbing me?” Roman asked coldly. Jennifer's friend, Katherine, was shocked by his countenance. In the past, Roman wasn't quite bold but here he is, talking back at her. She turned to the man in the car, “Can you hear what he is saying? An ordinary person can't be granted access into the estate, right? What the hell is he doing here then?" She asked. The man who had driven them into the estate was a salesman of this estate. He felt nervous as he saw how cheap Roman's clothes are. He responded, “With the cheap clothes he has on, I'm sure he is not a resident of this estate” A sly smirk appeared on her face, “What? You aren't a resident, so what are you doing here, Roman? Don't tell me you are here begging for shelter or food!” She muttered. “, you aren't supposed to be in here, don't tell me you lure your way into the estate. Are you trying to steal from someone?”“T
Chapter 11The onlookers stared at Roman in disgust, they called him some names that aren't honorary. He was labeled as a thief, a Liar, a Pauper and all sorts of. Roman couldn't help but get angry at those words. He clenched his fist angrily, and tried to suppress the anger he felt at the moment. He is intolerant to insults. He won't let them go scot free. He's surely going to make them regret their actions. He watched them keenly, and continued to tolerate the insults and humiliations. His expression had turned stoic, and he was glaring at the onlookers, especially Katherine and the salesman maliciously. Among the bystanders, an old woman and her husband were glaring at Roman contemptuously. “Can you imagine the nonsense he is sputtering out of his mouth?" The Old woman said disparagingly to her husband who stood beside her. “Right? I'm stupefied that he owned the No. 1 Villa! Did he know how much the house was worth? He had claimed the Villa shamelessly. He really needs to be
Chapter 12 Everyone's mouth gaped open helplessly, and stared at the poor and shabby man, Roman in front of them. Katherine's expression instantly changed and she immediately gave the Administrator a hard glance. She walked over and asked in a harsh tone, “What the heck are you saying, Mister? Are you claiming he is the owner of the No. 1 Villa? How possible is that? He is a live-in son-in-law, and was married to my friend.” “How can he afford a Mansion worth over 150 million? I don't believe that, you should check the profile thoroughly, there might be a mistake!” Katherine added while staring at Roman with contempt. The Administrator shot a dangerous glance at the lady. She made him look like he was lying. “What do you mean there might be mistakes? I've been working for the company for the past ten years, and there's nothing like that. You should apologize to Mr Cooper for the humiliations!” The Administrator muttered. The Old woman chimed in furiously, “Why should we apolo
CHAPTER THIRTEEN The Old woman's face contorted with rage, “Who are you trying to fool? If you are able to get into the No. 1 Villa, We will get down on our knees and apologize to you!” She was really pissed by Roman’s confidence. Roman sneered, saying, "Are you sure about you? I mean, do you all agree with the woman? You have to get on your knees and apologize to me!” Without any hesitation, everybody nodded their heads in agreement. They really want to know the end of this matter. “Okay then, Let's move to the No. 1 Villa!" He said smugly, and turned to the Administrator, "The matter is about getting solved. You don't have to call the Head Office! I will sort this out myself!” The Administrator nodded his head, and replied. “Once again, I'm sorry about the humiliations you passed through in the hands of your neighbors. They don't really know who you are. I apologize on their behalf, sir!” He bowed his head as he pleaded with him. Roman smiled sheepishly, and looked up at t
CHAPTER FOURTEEN The gate was opened wide enough for the people to troop inside. They were astounded at the sight before them. They never expected the mansion to be this beautiful, their expectations was the building would be like theirs. A moment later, someone shouted in admiration. "There is a swimming pool!" The person gasped, "Oh my God, no wonder it is really expensive!" Meanwhile, Katherine narrowed her brows, and asked unbelievably, “Is that really a swimming pool? I heard most of the houses in the Grand Pavilion don't have a private swimming pool, why is this mansion different?” She muttered in confusion, and had a glance at the swimming pool. Funny enough, it was a real swimming pool. Roman closed the gates and smiled smugly, "Yeah, because it's the expensive building in Grand Pavilion Estate. You expect it to be expensive, and have no difference from the other building. C'mon Katherine, you aren't a dullard, are you?" He continued, "There are two pools in this bui
CHAPTER FIFTEENEveryone had forgotten the reason why they were brought to the expensive mansion in Grand Pavilion Estate. They were carried away with the sight before them and now, they had to continue with the bet. Knowing fully well the gate was opened by Roman, they have no excuse to say! They began to grumble among themselves. On the other hand, Katherine shrugged, and waved her hand dismissively, “Are you really serious about this? Everything is just a fool proof plan. We aren't serious about this!” Roman gave out a deep breath. Katherine had given silly excuses to cancel the bet. The truth was that Katherine had lost hope the moment she found the remote in his hand. She assumed Roman was truly the owner, but what kept baffling her was how Roman could afford to buy the mansion. Roman's face was contorted with rage, and flared up angrily at her, “What do you mean? We all accept to place a bet! Now that I have won, shouldn't you guys get down on your knees, and apologize?”
