Chapter 8
Upon hearing the words from Reuben, the Doctor suddenly felt agitated. He cowered in fear, he knew what the Xander's family could do.
Anything coming out from them, they really mean it. Quickly, he stuttered as he tried to beg for forgiveness.
“Please Mr Reuben, I'm sorry for the mistake. It won't happen again, my injection hasn't worked on him. It was Roman who treated the Lord.” He claimed, trying to appease Reuben.
Everyone was glaring at him disdainfully, and wondered how he could be shameless to claim what he didn't do.
Obviously, his apologies won't work. Reuben shot him a deadly glare and said, “If you've claimed you're not good enough to save the Lord's life, it would be better and okay." He paused, and looked into his eyes sternly, “But you tried to stop Mr Roman from saving the Lord just only to save your dignity. Do you think I will forgive you for that? No!”
“Please Mr Xander, accept my apologies! Just use this as a warning to me. It won't repeat itself." Dr. McKenzie begged fearfully.
Reuben gave a deaf ear to his pleas, and ordered the security guards to beat him to a pulp.
Dr McKenzie cried for help as he was dragged out by the hefty security guards. He was in trouble and couldn't escape from suffering.
After that, everyone rushed towards Roman, and appreciated him for saving the Lord's life.
“Thank you Mr Roman! If not for you, the Lord would have died of poison. You save the Xander's life.”
Reuben came forward and began to say, “I'm really stupid for not giving you a chance earlier. With your appearance, I thought you wouldn't be able to know anything about Lord's illness. But I was wrong, you treated, cured, and redeemed my father's life. Thank you so much, Mr Roman! I will always be grateful for what you did for the Xander's family today." he appreciated Roman's kindness.
Roman nodded his head while he smiled deeply. He could see he was sincere about his apologies.
“You don't have to worry about that, Mr Reuben! You don't need to thank me, it is my job to save life. I just want to tell you not to look down on people anymore. You shouldn't judge a book by its cover.” Roman muttered.
Quickly, Reuben nodded his head, “Sure! I learnt my lesson today! It won't ever happen again. Thank you once again, Mr Roman!”
Roman nodded his head gently, “Good! One more thing Mr Reuben, it was not the fault of the medicine produced by Angelique's Pharmaceutical company but it was someone who used an ancient poison in Africa to assassinate the Lord.”
Everyone exclaimed, “Poison! Assassinated! Who could that be? And what's the reason for that?" They wondered aloud as they felt shocked by Roman's revelation.
“So it wasn't Angelique's Pharmaceutical company and we've humiliated her severely." Reuben muttered in anger.
Quickly, he turned to Angelique, “Ms. Brown, can you forgive our family like this? We've humiliated you on this matter not knowing it was from another place, and not your company.
Ms. Brown, Please, we are very sorry for the rude approach, and comments. We deserve to be punished but please forgive us!”
Every member of the family nodded their head in support. Some even went on their knees to tender their apologies.
Angelique, on the other hand, was feeling elated. Roman had just cleared her name. She couldn't be more than grateful, only God knows where she would have been if not for Roman's skills.
“Apologies accepted! I'm grateful the Master is getting better, and also there wouldn't be charges against the Pharmaceutical company, right?” Angelique said, with a smile beaming on her face.
“Sure, there won't be charges anymore. We will definitely look for the person who tried to kill the Lord." Reuben affirmed, his tone was laced with authority.
“From now on, we will resume the cooperation with your company, Miss Brown and also, Mr Roman will be one of our most respectful guests in the Xander Family. You are welcome at any time, and if you need any help in anything, we are here to render.” Reuben muttered, and everyone nodded their heads in support.
Roman was overwhelmed by Reuben’s antics. He was respectful and kind.
“You don't have to say that, Mr Reuben. I'm just doing my job!" He muttered, yet the Xanders didn't bother about it but appreciated him more.
After the Lord himself appreciated Roman for saving his life, Angelique and Roman left the Xander's mansion.
At the garage, Angelique couldn't help but tear out appreciatively, and said, “Mr. Cooper, you don't know what you've done for me. I would still be in the hands of the Xanders if not for your intervention.
Thank you! Thank you so much. I really appreciate your kindness, you just saved the company and I. If there's anything you want me to do for you, I will surely do it.” Angelique Brown cried out in appreciation.
Roman was surprised, though it was something to be thankful for but he had never expected her to cry out in front of him.
“You don't have to worry about anything, Angelique! I just have to do what's right and that's by saving the Pharmaceutical company and the life of the Lord.” Roman said.
Angelique felt happy once again, and said to Roman. “Now that they proved the medicine had no problem, is it the time to convene a press conference and a business party to save the company's reputation?”
Roman nodded his head in support, “Sure, that's the right thing to do!"
Angelique chimed, “Really? Okay then, What about I invite you to join the party? I would really love to give you a surprise at the party! Please, would you love to attend?” She asked, staring keenly at Roman while she longed for his response.
Roman noticed the brightened expression on her face, and couldn't decline her invite.
“Sure! If that is what you want, I will be there.” Roman answered.
Chapter 9Angelique Brown was overjoyed. Roman had just accepted her invite, and it's something to be happy about. She muttered excitedly, “Thank you Mr Cooper for accepting my invite. You don't know what this means to me.” Quickly, she brought out his phone and put a call to her assistant about convening a press conference. It hadn't rang twice when the assistant's voice was heard. "Good day, Miss Brown! I saw your call.”“Yess! Lord of Xander had been cured. I decided to convene a press conference, and a business party afterwards. Can you do that?” Angelique Brown muttered. The assistant's voice hinted with surprise, “Really ma'am! Wow, I'm so happy right now! When will the press conference come up?”" Tomorrow will be fine! Yeah, we should do it tomorrow!” Angelique replied while nudging at Roman for his response. Roman also nodded his head in response. After some minutes of discussing about the conference, Angelique ended the call, and turned to Roman with a broad smile on he
Chapter 10“And who are you to tell me that, Katherine? You're Not the owner of the estate, are you? Why are you disturbing me?” Roman asked coldly. Jennifer's friend, Katherine, was shocked by his countenance. In the past, Roman wasn't quite bold but here he is, talking back at her. She turned to the man in the car, “Can you hear what he is saying? An ordinary person can't be granted access into the estate, right? What the hell is he doing here then?" She asked. The man who had driven them into the estate was a salesman of this estate. He felt nervous as he saw how cheap Roman's clothes are. He responded, “With the cheap clothes he has on, I'm sure he is not a resident of this estate” A sly smirk appeared on her face, “What? You aren't a resident, so what are you doing here, Roman? Don't tell me you are here begging for shelter or food!” She muttered. “, you aren't supposed to be in here, don't tell me you lure your way into the estate. Are you trying to steal from someone?”“T
Chapter 11The onlookers stared at Roman in disgust, they called him some names that aren't honorary. He was labeled as a thief, a Liar, a Pauper and all sorts of. Roman couldn't help but get angry at those words. He clenched his fist angrily, and tried to suppress the anger he felt at the moment. He is intolerant to insults. He won't let them go scot free. He's surely going to make them regret their actions. He watched them keenly, and continued to tolerate the insults and humiliations. His expression had turned stoic, and he was glaring at the onlookers, especially Katherine and the salesman maliciously. Among the bystanders, an old woman and her husband were glaring at Roman contemptuously. “Can you imagine the nonsense he is sputtering out of his mouth?" The Old woman said disparagingly to her husband who stood beside her. “Right? I'm stupefied that he owned the No. 1 Villa! Did he know how much the house was worth? He had claimed the Villa shamelessly. He really needs to be
Chapter 12 Everyone's mouth gaped open helplessly, and stared at the poor and shabby man, Roman in front of them. Katherine's expression instantly changed and she immediately gave the Administrator a hard glance. She walked over and asked in a harsh tone, “What the heck are you saying, Mister? Are you claiming he is the owner of the No. 1 Villa? How possible is that? He is a live-in son-in-law, and was married to my friend.” “How can he afford a Mansion worth over 150 million? I don't believe that, you should check the profile thoroughly, there might be a mistake!” Katherine added while staring at Roman with contempt. The Administrator shot a dangerous glance at the lady. She made him look like he was lying. “What do you mean there might be mistakes? I've been working for the company for the past ten years, and there's nothing like that. You should apologize to Mr Cooper for the humiliations!” The Administrator muttered. The Old woman chimed in furiously, “Why should we apolo
CHAPTER THIRTEEN The Old woman's face contorted with rage, “Who are you trying to fool? If you are able to get into the No. 1 Villa, We will get down on our knees and apologize to you!” She was really pissed by Roman’s confidence. Roman sneered, saying, "Are you sure about you? I mean, do you all agree with the woman? You have to get on your knees and apologize to me!” Without any hesitation, everybody nodded their heads in agreement. They really want to know the end of this matter. “Okay then, Let's move to the No. 1 Villa!" He said smugly, and turned to the Administrator, "The matter is about getting solved. You don't have to call the Head Office! I will sort this out myself!” The Administrator nodded his head, and replied. “Once again, I'm sorry about the humiliations you passed through in the hands of your neighbors. They don't really know who you are. I apologize on their behalf, sir!” He bowed his head as he pleaded with him. Roman smiled sheepishly, and looked up at t
CHAPTER FOURTEEN The gate was opened wide enough for the people to troop inside. They were astounded at the sight before them. They never expected the mansion to be this beautiful, their expectations was the building would be like theirs. A moment later, someone shouted in admiration. "There is a swimming pool!" The person gasped, "Oh my God, no wonder it is really expensive!" Meanwhile, Katherine narrowed her brows, and asked unbelievably, “Is that really a swimming pool? I heard most of the houses in the Grand Pavilion don't have a private swimming pool, why is this mansion different?” She muttered in confusion, and had a glance at the swimming pool. Funny enough, it was a real swimming pool. Roman closed the gates and smiled smugly, "Yeah, because it's the expensive building in Grand Pavilion Estate. You expect it to be expensive, and have no difference from the other building. C'mon Katherine, you aren't a dullard, are you?" He continued, "There are two pools in this bui
CHAPTER FIFTEENEveryone had forgotten the reason why they were brought to the expensive mansion in Grand Pavilion Estate. They were carried away with the sight before them and now, they had to continue with the bet. Knowing fully well the gate was opened by Roman, they have no excuse to say! They began to grumble among themselves. On the other hand, Katherine shrugged, and waved her hand dismissively, “Are you really serious about this? Everything is just a fool proof plan. We aren't serious about this!” Roman gave out a deep breath. Katherine had given silly excuses to cancel the bet. The truth was that Katherine had lost hope the moment she found the remote in his hand. She assumed Roman was truly the owner, but what kept baffling her was how Roman could afford to buy the mansion. Roman's face was contorted with rage, and flared up angrily at her, “What do you mean? We all accept to place a bet! Now that I have won, shouldn't you guys get down on your knees, and apologize?”
CHAPTER SIXTEENShocked by how adamant Roman was, the old woman and Katherine gawked at him in horror. He was truly determined to let them go unpunished. Roman shot a piercing glare at the old woman. "You really want to see the house certificate, right? You will see it very soon." he muttered, and with that, he walked into the mansion. The moment Roman had opened the door with his face ID and that of the fingerprint, the people were utterly stunned. Truly , they believed Roman wasn't lying about owning the house. The house was truly his. They sighed in exasperation, and anticipated his return. Katherine, on the other hand, doesn't know what is going on. She never expected Roman to be wealthy all of a sudden. He is a live-in son-in-law, who had leached off his wife's money, and is living a miserable life. After just a day of divorce among the two, Roman had purchased the expensive building in the Estate in a blink of an eye. How possible is that? In her opinion, Roman doesn't dese
