Chapter 7

Melvis took a car with Quen to where he used to live. He ordered Quen to destroy Jimmy's building and wanted to test his intelligence and skills, which Alex had mentioned earlier.

Melvis sat quietly in the car while Quen Impact talked to someone on the other side of the phone. In less than half an hour, the project people with large vehicles arrived and immediately demolished Jimmy's building. In just an instant, the building was razed to the ground.

Jimmy and everyone there looked shocked, hysterically shouting loudly in displeasure that the building they lived in was demolished without prior notice. "Are you all out of your minds? Who ordered you to destroy this building?"

"Oh my, where should we stay now?" They were all hysterical. Including Jimmy, who looked visibly frustrated that all his buildings had been destroyed, leaving only ashes and rubble.

Melvis smiled happily at the sight before him. "Taste it. It's not worth what you've done to me!" He still remembered the terrible things Jimmy had done to him. The humiliation and even his pride were stepped on by Jimmy. Now, Melvis could breathe a sigh of relief that he had repaid him.

After everything was destroyed and levelled to the ground, the heavy equipment project workers simply left the site. Quen paid them a substantial amount of money. Alex gave him the facility to hold a large amount of money in case Melvis needed help dealing with this kind of thing. The money held by Quen was different from the money saved by Melvis himself.

Quen faced Melvis while bowing his head respectfully. "Master, I have carried out your orders."

"Thank you." Melvis responded happily. His servant was reliable, and Alex chose Quen to be by Melvis' side.

They left the area, and on the way, Melvis asked the car to pull over to the side of the road. He wanted to buy some toast that he used to buy when he still lived in the neighbourhood because later, he would never come to this slum again.

"It feels like ages ago." Melvis muttered to himself as he sighed, watching the toast shop.

Quen's brow furrowed, hearing Melvis' mutterings. "What is it, sir?"

Melvis shook his head. "Nothing." He exited the car while straightening his clothes, then looked at Quen, who was also about to leave. "Don't follow me. I'm going to buy some toast at that shop. I don't want to be conspicuous if you follow me behind."

"But Master, I must always be near Master so that I can protect and take care of Master." Quen felt uneasy when Melvis was alone in line at the toast shop.

Melvis raised his right hand, ordering Quen to stay where he was. Without another word, Melvis walked towards the toast shop.

The toast shop has always been crowded since long ago. The queue was always long because the toast was delicious. After a long wait, it was finally his turn. Melvis was very happy to remember how he had struggled to get this toast after working for a whole month.

Melvis managed to buy the toast. The price was still the same as when he bought it some time ago. The waitress was still friendly and kind to him. He walked out of the shop holding the still billowing hot smoke toast.

As Melvis was about to cross the street, a luxury car accidentally almost hit him. Suddenly, the toast in Melvis' hand fell onto the road. The rich man in the luxury car got out and looked at Melvis sharply.

"You poor fellow! Did you put your eyes under your feet that you didn't look at the road first before crossing? You wanted to get hit by me on purpose, didn't you? You know my car is fancy and you're trying to blackmail me by pretending to get hit, right? You poor lowlife!"

The people around them whispered to each other about Melvis. "That poor guy again. He's always making a scene. What is it this time?"

"He must have done that on purpose so that the rich man would give him money. What a poor soul!" Other residents chimed in, demonizing Melvis.

They all whispered insults to Melvis even more. "Poor people like him like to cheat people for money. What a disgrace!"

Melvis looked annoyed as his dirty toast fell on the muddy street. Of course, his toast could not be saved, even though he had queued for 10 minutes. "You almost hit me, but why are you blaming me and not apologizing?"

"What did you say? You should be the one apologizing to me! Because of you, my luxury car almost got dirty and damaged by coming into contact with a dirty poor man like you!" The rich man looked disgusted at Melvis. He was haughty with an annoying look on his face.

Melvis grew angry, not accepting the rich man's words. "You think you're the richest person in the world and can do whatever you want?" He was no longer afraid to fight them because she came from a rich family, and now there was her grandfather who would protect her.

From a distance, Quen watched Melvis. He heard a commotion from that direction. Quen was sure something was wrong with his Master. He got out of the car, stepping out to protect Melvis, who was involved in an argument with the rich man.

The rich man's eyes widened perfectly, dumbfounded at Melvis' ramblings. "Insolent! A poor man like you dares to insult me? You uneducated one! You think this street is your own! You should have put your eyes in front of you, so that you could see if a car was coming! Instead of blocking the road!"

Melvis clenched his hands tightly, trying to keep his anger from exploding. "Does this street also belong to you, that people who want to cross it have to pull over when you pass by in your luxury car? You're obviously a rich but uneducated person! Are you so blind that you can't see that the traffic light has turned red? Shame on you!"

Melvis's words just now offended the rich man, making him angry. "Damn it! How dare you insult me like that!" He raised his hand, about to slap Melvis hard across the face. With a quick movement, Melvis managed to catch his hand.
