Chapter 33

Brielle sighed before knocking on the door. It had been a long time since she had faced her family and thought of what they might say this time around.

The room fell into a hush when they saw her and she felt as though the ground should open and swallow her. Their eyes dissected every part of her body and she was thankful that she wore a very good cloth.

"Why is everyone staring at me as if someone died?" She inquired yet their gazes still magneted her. She was a bit weary about the meeting.

"Where is Grandma?" She inquired when they refused to move instead they were staring at her as though she had committed a heinous crime that nobody had done before making her a bit weary.

"Why is everyone mute?" Grandma asked as she walked in and saw her granddaughter standing at the entrance of the house. "Come on in, you can't keep standing there. What is going on here?"

As if controlled by a remote, Brock moved. "Welcome, Brielle, we thought that he'd never release you from your shackles."
