Chapter 24: The power

Derek scoffed. “Seriously?” he turned to look at the salesperson. “I spoke first. So, the ring is mine.”

James regarded Derek for a moment. “Are you, not Derek, the live-in son-in-law of William?” he laughed. “How can you afford a ring so expensive? Are you trying to mock yourself?”

“If I come inside this store and demand something, it’s because I can afford it. The ring is for me.”

James looked at the salesperson. “You had better send this guy out of here because he’s not going to buy anything. He’s only going to cause a nuisance. In fact, he’s one of the most useless and poor sons-in-law ever.”

The salesperson quickly moved towards James. She knew who James was initially because he was used to shopping in their stores. In fact, she always gets commission whenever he buys things from the store.

“Do you still want the Wittelbach ring? It's 80 million dollars and I can pack them for you.”
