Chapter 25: The evil one
"No, that's a lie. There's no way that card would be invalid. Try it again," Derek protested softly.

James laughed. "No, forget it. I told you earlier! There's no way he could afford such an amount of money. You should sell this to me," he smirked.

The manager regarded Derek for a moment. "Try that again," he ordered.

Derek released a sigh. He didn't know if he should be scared about it or not. But well, he could make a transfer but that wouldn't stop James from mocking him.

Even at that moment, he wanted to beat the stupid smirk off his face.

The salesperson tried again but the machine made another beep. "This card is indeed invalid, "she announced and looked at the manager. "You should send him out for causing a ruckus and sell the ring to Mr. James."

The manager looked over at Derek. He had been convinced by his face and the name on the card that he was indeed the son of Miller. In fact, he was the legitimate one.

"Are you certain that this card is valid?"
