Chapter seven

"Are you sure of this?" Adrian asked and the secretary nodded. "I would never say a thing to you that I wasn't sure of, master," she replied. Adrian nodded and decided that he had to lead Richmond on. He had to find out more about him. "If his company is bankrupt, does that mean he may be only with Regina because of the money?" He asked. But it wasn't even a question that he needed to ask. Something told him that Richmond was indeed using Regina. An amused smile crossed his face at the thought of it. It would be quite ironic.

"Good, keep tabs on him. Do not turn down his proposal no matter how shitty, I need you to keep him hopeful, make him a part of the company," he said.

Taraji looked at him oddly, like she didn't trust his choice but she simply nodded. "As you wish, young master," she replied and left. The next day, after his morning run, Adrian decided to have another meeting with Traaji. He now knows that not only is Richmond involved in illegal activities, but he is also trying to sell that stolen gold to him too. At a meeting the next day with his secretary at an upscale restaurant, he can dig deeper into what she explained the previous day.

"Have you granted him the partnership?" He asked. Taraji nodded and stared at him, "I did just as you instructed, young master," she replied.

Adrian nodded firmly. He has a plan to make Regina's life and that of her boytoy even more miserable. The video alone wasn't worth what she had tried to do to him if the public dared to believe that he was the cheat. His whole life would have been gone. His family name would have been ruined when people got to find out who he was. For this, he decided that she had to pay for her evil ways. "I need you to agree to the partnership entirely," he stated.

Taraji looked at him and then raised an arched brow, she couldn't refuse to do as he'd said but it was clear in her eyes that she had her questions, "Of course sir," she replied obediently.

"But...." Adrian said with a soft smile on his face as he realized that Taraji looked like she had something on her mind to say.

"Master, I will do just as you've said. But I think this is a risky move. That company is an illegal one, he is selling stolen gold and this could get us into a lot of trouble with the company he had been working for," she tried to explain.

Adrian nodded his head, "I'm willing to take that risk. I know what I'm doing, just do as I say," he instructed and the beautiful lady nodded. "But that's not all, Taraji, I also want you to invest a lot of money in the company too," he said.

That was when Taraji gasped, "Young master, Richmond is bankrupt and he has been truly fruitless for anyone to buy his gold including the black market. He is desperate to sell it, investing any money in the company is like a time bomb, it would surely go off in our faces," she stated.

Adrian tried to understand her fear. He could understand the root of her worry and fear but he had no intention of being lost in it. He just wanted to teach the greedy man and his wife a lesson that they would never forget. "Do as I've said. Buy all their valued shares and make sure that we own the biggest shares in the company," he instructed.

"I'll do what you've asked," she replied respectfully. Adrian further instructed he'd announce that their company wanted to cooperate with other companies too.

"I want a meeting to be called for next month. I want all our old partners as well as potential partners of our company to convene. There will be a party thrown by the company," he instructed. He smiled as he said this because he had a plan and the meeting would be the perfect time for him.

"I'll make the calls and send the letters right away, master," Taraji replied. Adrian nodded. He knew that the other companies would be eager to attend the company and make preparations to outshine each other.

"Keep your eyes on Richmond. Make sure he has no access to the company but make him comfortable with us buying shares from him, he's a greedy man and he's going to fall for it, thinking that we're fools," he said.

Nodding, Taraji promised to do exactly as he'd said. Shortly after that, his phone rang and it was his grandfather asking where he was. "I need to see you, Adrian, there's something that I need you to do for me," he said.

Adrian couldn't deny his grandfather anything so he agreed without blinking, "I'll do it, grandfather, who do you need me to visit?" He asked.

"I have an old friend, his name is Ulrich, he's been sick for a while but I've been pretty busy paying him a visit," he explained, his tone a little sullen.

Adrian was just getting back to his old life. He knew very little of his grandfather's friends but he knew that if he was being sent then it had to be very important. Adrian had acquired a medical degree soon before he met Regina. Although his grandfather wanted him to take over that company rather than chase that passion, he was still good at it. "Okay, grandfather," he replied dutifully.

"I know that you've always been skilled with medicine, could you pay him a visit on my behalf, maybe you could have a few tips to make him better?" He asked.

"I'm at a meeting with Taraji at the moment, I'll be heading there right away," he agreed. His grandfather sounded pleased and assured him that his friend would be expecting him in his mansion.
