Chapter 138

Early the next morning, Amara walked out of her apartment dressed in white. It was a new day and the day for the meeting she had promised Kelvin. She drove downtown with a heavy heart towards her mission.

“God help me," she muttered as she prayed silently on the wheel. When she got to the usual meeting venue, it was an event center in a small hotel in Vancouzer.

A perfect spot that would hardly derive suspicion. Mark had already arrived at the meeting, his security men were positioned outside the hall as she walked past them.

“You're late," Mark called out to her as she walked down to their midst.

The attendees were Mark himself, a few senators, and Mariana, whom she couldn't identify.

“I'm sorry boss, I overslept. I didn't begin my schedule in time." She pleaded with a downcast gaze m, and Mark murmured and gestured her to sit.
