Chapter 7

Where's Kelvin?" Mia asked. "The boss went out this morning. I was asked to inform you that he'll be back soon," the man in a security uniform told her. Mia just shook her head. "Where has he gone to this time, on such an important day?" she muttered as she walked off.

"Kelvin, why would you make such a great mistake? Do you know what you have done? Do you realize what this would do to us?" Agnes asked immediately, yelling.

"I'm sorry, Mum. I promise to find them. Just give me today," Kelvin tried to calm her, but it didn't work out. Agnes rubbed her temples in frustration. "I remember telling you to assign this to me, but you refused and assigned it to him. Now this is messed up," Laura said, jealousy seeping into her voice. "Shut up, you nuisance!" Agnes snapped, making Laura fall silent. "If anyone finds out about this, you both know it won't end well. I promise to find them before the party ends," Kelvin tried to reason with her, holding her. "Park!" Agnes slapped Kelvin. Laura, seeing this, smirked in satisfaction.

He held his cheek, his anger rising as he faced the polished floor. "You're still talking about the party? I'll have to pretend to be calm all day because of this nonsense," Agnes continued to yell. Laura watched in satisfaction. "Now get the hell out of here before anyone suspects anything," she said, walking off. "Best of luck, brother. See you at the party," Laura mocked, walking off. Kelvin fumed in anger as he ran to catch up with her. Getting close, he pulled her arm. "I know you have them with you. Now I kindly ask you to give them to me," Kelvin warned. Laura just laughed.

"How can you really think I have them with me?" she asked, dramatizing her touch to her chest. "Don't lie to me!" he yelled, but she didn't seem frightened or flinch. "It's payback time. I just need them for a little while. I'll surely return them before you know it," she tapped his shoulder before he angrily yanked her hands off. She smiled before walking out of the building.

"I really do know how to treat fools," a man laughed. "Father, what are you going to do?" a young man in a black tuxedo asked as he rested his back against the wall.

"Let the game begin," the old man laughed, with his son following.

"Baby, where are you going?" Tina asked, covering herself with a duvet. "Get up and get dressed. Your dress is here. I'll be waiting for you," he replied simply. "What's with the attitude?" she thought after he had walked away.

The large hall was decorated with beautiful designs and flowers. Many noble men and women took their seats, greeting each other. The reporters also stood by the entrance, waiting for noble people to walk in.

A black expensive car pulled up, and the reporters began flashing lights. Mia and Kelvin stepped out of the car, locking their arms together. They began walking down the red carpet, while their hefty bodyguards prevented the reporters from getting too close. "Good day, Mr. Lerione," an old white man said, holding a glass of wine. "Good day, Mr. Alex. It's nice to meet you again," he responded, shaking his hand. "I'll be back," Mia unlocked her arm from Kelvin's and walked towards her friends. "Hey, Mia!" they all greeted. "How are you guys doing?" She hugged them both and kissed them on the cheek. "You're looking stunning these days. I can see your husband treats you well," Severna smiled. "Yeah, right," Artemis smiled. "Thank you," Mai smiled.

Tina and Reed also stepped out of a jeep, and more pictures were taken. "Reed is here!" a lady mumbled. Her friends turned to catch a glimpse of him. "Who is she?" Rihanna asked, frowning. "Maybe one of his playgirls. She's smiling like a fool," Carly mocked, as they all folded their arms and watched.

Noises were heard as a white and purple jeep drove in. The two siblings stepped out, walking elegantly into the hall. Lots of reporters began taking photos as they became the center of attention. "Gosh! Tessa looks stunning in that expensive dress," a girl admired. "Ryran, on the other hand, looks so hot."

They finally reached the hall and greeted some guests before finding their seats. Ryran walked up to a guy. "Hey, buddy!" Ryran shook Reed's hand, noticing the girl next to him. "Hey, I'm Tina, Reed's girlfriend," Tina flaunted her hair proudly. Reed looked up to Ryran with a smirk on his face. "Number sixty-two so far," Reed smiled sheepishly. Tina didn't understand them. Waving it off, she sat gracefully.

"Why is she here?" Thyme's eyes flashed with anger as soon as he spotted Tina. "Oh, her rich boyfriend attends the party too," he chuckled sadly. Tina excused herself and walked to the restroom. She felt that her presence wasn't needed, as her boyfriend seemed engrossed in conversation with his best friend, completely oblivious to her mood.

Tina was just coming out of the restroom when a hand pulled her into a corner. "Thyme," her eyes widened. "Why are you here? Seeing your face disgusts me even more." Tina swallowed hard before speaking. "I came with my boyfriend. Are you stalking me? And how did you manage to get invited to this party?" she mocked. "Stalking you? My foot! You aren't worth it," he let go of her hand before walking away.

Tina could feel her heart racing. She walked away and, upon reaching the hall, she didn't spot Ryran anywhere. She walked up to him, as he was having a conversation with some ladies. "Hey, please, have you seen Reed anywhere?" she asked. "He's busy," he simply replied. Her heart pounded faster as she sat back in her seat, trying to calm herself. Just as she was trying to figure out how to quench the anger inside of her, she spotted Gorya and Lisa arriving. "What are they doing here?!
