chapter 11

He took out a sharp knife and smiled, injuring his hands with the knife. Just then, he heard a loud bang on the door and someone was knocking. "Who's that?" he yelled angrily, but the person kept knocking repeatedly, not wanting to give up. Getting annoyed, Thyme walked up to the door, not forgetting to throw the knife on the couch. He opened the door and was shocked to see Lady Rose, the person knocking. "Lady Rose," he mumbled. "Why are you here?" he asked her, but was shocked to see tears streaming down her face. She hugged him, and shock was still written all over his face as he couldn't help but wonder what had happened.

She wiped her tears and smiled, saying, "Wouldn't you allow your aunt in?" she asked with a smile. "Aunt?" he questioned in his mind as he got more confused. Seeing the shock on his face, she walked in.

Thyme walked in, closing the door behind him. He stared at Lady Rose's angry face and looked at what she was staring at. The knife he had thrown on the white couch was stained with a little blood. "Were you trying to hurt yourself?" she looked at him.

"What's wrong with this woman?" he thought and inserted his hands into his pocket. "Sorry, please why are you here?" he asked.

"Before I tell you why I'm here, clean this mess and let's get a drink," she placed her bag on the table. "I'm sorry, but I'm busy," he ignored her, walking to the door and opening it.

"Okay then, I'll leave and not tell you about your parents and past life. They are still alive, though," she picked up her bag. Thyme froze the moment she said that as he stared at her like he had seen a ghost.

"What did you just say?" he asked, his voice a little shaky. "Then get me a drink and let me explain to you," she sat back. Thyme was still in shock as he closed the door and walked towards her, picking up the knife. Rose just stared at him. He walked to the kitchen and came back with two soft drinks, sitting down he gave her hers. "What do you have to tell me?" he asked impatiently. She sighed, dropping the drinks and holding his hands.

"Firstly, I'm really happy I was able to find you. While you walked with us, I always felt a connection between us but couldn't just figure out what it was," she took a deep breath as Thyme couldn't help but wonder if she was his mother. "I am your mom's sister and I had always loved you when you were little. Your parents were kidnapped by your father's stepbrother just because of his greediness to get his company. After your grandfather died, your father's stepmom and her children planned to claim your father's company, but it all came to naught. It became worse when they would always send assassins to try killing your father. When they saw it wasn't working out, they tried another way by kidnapping them and telling the outside world they were dead. They waited for years before claiming your father's companies one by one," she stopped talking and looked at Thyme's face, which was filled with utter shock and confusion.

It just seemed like he had heard a funny fairytale, Rose just continued.

"I have been making investigations for the past two years now. I wasn't able to help look for them all these years because I was silenced, threatened. He even had to go to the extent of killing my only son because I tried speaking out. I was a widow because my husband died in a ghastly accident. I tried reporting to the cops, but he paid them off to remain silent. He had wiped my memory off because he was still intent on making me suffer for what he had done to me. But with the help of one person, I was able to remember everything, so he thinks I still lost my memory," she smiled.

"Did he wipe my memory too?" Thyme asked and she nodded. Thyme tapped his feet impatiently as if he wanted to just skin this heartless man alive. "I found out a lot of things, and that's why I decided to come work for your uncle to know more," she said, and Thyme's eyes widened. "Kelvin was his uncle!" he thought, and that made him even more angry. "What!" he yelled, anger very visible in his voice. "Please, you really have to promise to stay calm and not demolish our plans. Please," she begged. Thyme calmed down a little and continued to listen to her. "We also found out your parents aren't dead, and you have a sister," she sighed sadly. "A sister," he said, pain visible in his voice as his eyes turned glassy with tears threatening to fall. "Yes, a sister. Your mom traveled out of the country to give birth to her. She never told anyone because of the troubles they were going through. When she came back, she hid the baby with their driver, who now seems to be bribed by Kelvin. But he never told Kelvin he had his boss's child with him," she explained. The aura of the room turned cold instantly as Rose could feel the anger boiling in him.

"You just have to calm down. We are this close to getting your parents back. He had kept your father and mother because he wanted to... I've also talked to your father's boss if he could show me your sister. He rejected, but only showed me her picture. But he has decided to help us since he's regretting his actions," she smiled. "I also have your father's old secretary who's also helping me with it," she assured him. "Do you...?" she was interrupted by him. "Can you please at least show me their picture?" he asked calmly. She brought out her phone and showed him his parents' picture first, when they had taken a picture together when he was young. Tears streamed down his face as she then showed him his sister's picture. Shock instantly covered his face as he stared at the photo. "I know her, I've seen her before, like twice, and we've spoken," he said in utter shock.
