“Brian?” Sarah asked with a confused look on her face and he nodded his head.
He placed his hand on his chest and cleared his throat. “That’s the truth. He brought you here.”
“The other time that I warned you to stay away from him, I saw him putting a substance inside your drink while you were unaware. I warned him to stay away from you but he refused. I came…” she interrupted him with a deep frown on her face before he could finish explaining to her.
“Can’t you hear yourself?” She asked with a cold look on her face.
“You claimed that it was Brian who brought me to this place but how come that I'm here with you?” she asked in a cold tone and he shook his head with a sigh.
He knew it would be hard to convince his wife that he was only trying to help her from the wolf in human clothing.
“Please listen and try to understand me,” he said and crouched close to her but she sent a cold glare at him.
“I won't. Keep whatever explanation you have to yourself,” she said and he bit on his lower lips.
With each minute passing, he was getting frustrated.
“I didn't. I was only trying to help you,” he said and she snapped at me.
“Help me? Do you call sleeping with your wife without her consent a help?” She asked in an annoyed tone and he swallowed.
Each time he tries to make her understand, she keeps twisting the whole issue.
He knew if he was also in her shoes, he would find it hard to believe her partner. He could only hope that she believed him.
“How could you?” she asked in a cold tone.
“How could you have sex with me without my consent? I won't call it a rape but that's not good. Although I know we're both husband and wife and we barely have sex, I still can't believe that you could do such a thing to me,” she half-yelled and he balled his hand into his fist.
“Brian!” he said with gnashed teeth and a bite on his lower lips.
He couldn't forget what happened that night. Brian knew this was going to happen, that was why he left him.
If he knew this would happen, he wouldn't have done anything to her. He would have left her to herself but he couldn't bear watching her wailing in pain under the effect of the aphrodisiac drugs.
What is he doing? How is he going to explain to her? He asked himself but he couldn't get an answer to it.
“I did it to help you. You were under the effect of an aphro…” he couldn't complete his statement as her left hand landed on his right cheek.
His head moved backward as she slapped him fiercely on his cheek. He whined in pain and placed his hand on his cheeks. His cheeks burned with excruciating pain. He looked at her with a cold and surprised look on his face.
“Why did you do that?” He asked in an annoyed tone.
He didn't like why she chose to believe Brian over him, her husband.
“That's because you deserve it.”
“That's because you keep lying even when I caught you red-handed,” she said and he shut his eyes tightly.
Was it his fault that he wasn't rich? Did he have to face this always?
“I haven't done anything to hurt you in the past. Why would I hurt you now?” He asked and she hissed.
“Who knows if you've changed? I don't care,” she said and threw a pillow at him.
“I'm sorry, but please know I wouldn't do anything to hurt you.”
“Stand up and leave. I don't want to see you, you disgust me,” she yelled at me.
“Please believe that I won't do anything to hurt you,” he said and sighed deeply.
He reached out to his clothes on the floor and just as he was about to wear it, the door broke open.
His heart skipped in fear as the door opened with a great face. Sarah moved backward in fear and clenched the duvet to cover my exposed breast.
“Brian!” Smith's blood boiled with anger as his gaze landed on Brian, who walked into the room with a proud smile on his face.
“What are you doing here?” Brian asked with a confused look, feigning ignorance.
Sarah lowered her head in shame as Brian came to him and questioned her.
She couldn't bring herself to tell him that the man she married deceitfully had sex with her while she was unconscious.
Shortly, before she could reply, the door pulled open and Brianna came to him with a policeman behind him.
“Sarah,” she called her daughter and rushed toward her then hugged her on the bed.
“This is the man that assaulted my daughter,” Brianna said and pointed at Adrian.
“Huh?” He gasped out with a surprised look on his face.
“That's a lie. I didn't assault or violate her,” he said but Brianna, her mother-in-law, wasn't ready to listen.
Adrian couldn't believe that Brian could bring his mother-in-law to the hotel room even after causing a problem with him and his wife.
Brian smirked at him discreetly.
“He’s her husband, right?” The policeman asked.
“Yeah. I can't do anything to harm and…” the policeman interrupted him before he could complete his statement.
“That's enough, Mr. Adrian. You'll have to come to our custody for some interrogation,” the policeman dropped the bombshell and his heart skipped in fear.
“What!” Adrian gasped out in shock with a surprised look on his face. He couldn't understand why they wanted to arrest him just because he was having a nice time with his wife. Wasn't Sarah his wife? Why all of this? He wished he could get an answer to those questions that were disturbing his mind but he couldn't. He was clueless with no direction. Once again, he would be cheated upon. “Come with you to your custody? What do you mean, officer?” Adrian asked with a confused look, his heart was racing rapidly. “Yes, you have to come with me to the custody for interrogation,” the officer said in a cold tone and Brianna hissed. “What's the meaning of this, officer? I told you that he has sex with my daughter. He assaulted her and you're saying you want to take him away for interrogation.”“I thought you were supposed to take him away and lock him up in a cell,” Brianna said in an angry tone as she turned to the officer. “That's enough, madam. You can't tell me what to do so let me do
What! Adrian gasped out in shock and his mouth widened agape, unable to comprehend the revelation. How is that possible? He asked himself but he couldn't get an answer to himself. He didn't want to believe that the officer was lying. He needed to do something or he might end up in the cell for trying to save his wife, who was almost destroyed by the effect of the aphrodisiac drug. “You can't arrest me. I didn't bring her here,” he adamantly opposed and the officer became impatient. “Don't make me angry, Mr. Man. This is the proof before you so why are you still opposing me? If you don't comply, I would have to force you to then,” the officer said and Adrian kept quiet for a while. He took a deep breath. “You can't arrest me for the crime that I didn't commit. I didn't do anything to her,” he said in a cold tone. Sarah felt the sincerity in his voice but the anger boiling inside of her wouldn't let her admit it. “That's the proof before you. You can check it yourself,” the offic
Brian? He was surprised when he heard his name. He thought the officer called the wrong cellmate until the officer called him by his name after sending his doubt. Why would Brian want to see him and not his wife? Somehow, he was disappointed that it was Brian and not his wife who came to the police station to check up on him. He thought it was his wife at first and he was beginning to have hope until he discovered it was his wife. The level of disappointment he felt couldn't be explained. He wondered why she chose to believe a stranger over him. She would have believed him under any circumstances but she chose not to believe him now. “Are you sure of what you're saying, officer?” He asked and his cellmate scoffed inwardly. “Will you get up and stop questioning me? I thought I had answered your question earlier,” the policeman complained that something was wrong. “Whatever,” Adrian shook his head with a sigh and rolled his eyes at the officer, who failed to notice it because of t
“Okay fine,” Adrian shrugged and moved backward then sat down on the chair. He leaned on the wall behind him and caressed his chin calmly with a sly smile on his face. He shook his head after estimating the time he had left before Dean, who was Dark Ace's minion, would give up the ghost. He wished he could save him but since they had underestimated him, he didn't have any reason to intervene. That was the type of world we live in. The rich or people at higher levels tend to belittle the poor or the less privileged. Or isn't it? “What are we going to do?” Dark Ace asked worriedly but none of them said anything. They couldn't tell what was happening to their friend. “Mr. Lucas, please can you help us?” Dark Ace asked nervously as he turned to a middle-aged man, who was sitting quietly in a corner with a cold look on his face. For the first time, Adrian noticed the presence of another man in the cell room apart from those cellmates who were trying to harass him before one o
“The commander?” Adrian asked with a worried look on his face and the female officer nodded her head affirmatively. “Are you sure?” He asked again, his heart racing rapidly. He didn't know the crime he had offended, which made the commander interested in seeing him. “Yes. And you should be at ease because he means no harm,” she said and he nodded his head calmly. “Don't worry. You'll be fine,” Dark Ace said and patted his shoulder. “We got your back,” they carried him to his feet and Dean stretched his crutches to him. He couldn't find the genuine smile that crept on his face after those guys helped him up. Unlike the rich people he saved on his wife's birthday, these people before him were grateful for saving their friend's life. He loved it. His head shook slightly after he remembered that he was being called the commander. Was it because of what Brian said? Did he talk to the commander to punish him? Different negative thoughts began to roam around in his head and e
“You don't need to thank me because you're going to save some lives today so I hope you won't disappoint me,” the commander said and he smiled. “Of course, I won't. I'll do all I can in my power to save them, Sir,” Adrian said confidently and the commander smiled. “But sir how did I know that you won't go back on your…” the commander interrupted him before he could complete his statement. “Go back on my words?” The commander asked as though he knew what Adrian wanted to say. Adrian stared at him with a surprised look, unable to fathom how that man managed to know it was him. “Yes, sir,” he responded and lowered his head. “Well, I know this is going to happen, that's why I prepared this contract to validate my words,” the commander said and brought out two copies of documents. He stretched one at Adrian and kept the other one for himself. “What is this, Sir?” he asked. “That is the agreement between both of us that I'll release after you save those patients in the ward. I'm doi
What!He staggered backward and held onto his crutches so that he wouldn't lose his balance and fall. His heart skipped as he watched his wife hug the man, who seemed to be a rich person. He hugged her tightly as though his life depended on his wife. His heart broke into pieces as he watched his wife glance at him and turn to the man then entered into the car, pretending as though she didn't see him. He shook his head with a sigh and bit on his lower lips with an angry look on his face. Of course, she wouldn't let the rich man before her see her husband who was supposed to be locked up in the cell because she thought he plotted what happened to her last night. He was worried that she wasn't going to be fine with the presence of Smith but he could only care less afterward. He saw her doing fine with another man so there isn't any reason for him to worry or bother himself about her well-being. “I’ll be fine. I believe that,” he said even though he knew clearly that he was lying t
For the second time in his life, he was awe-struck and confused about what to think about his wife. First, he heard her moaning inside the master bedroom and when he checked, he didn't find anyone like he thought he would. Secondly, he saw her with another man and when she saw him, she ignored him and pretended as though she didn't see him. But now, she was in the police station yelling at the officer not caring about her reputation because of his dismissal at the police station. Was it because she wanted to see him suffer in the police station? Or was it because she felt remorse and wanted to see him again? He asked himself but he couldn't get an answer to it. She was the only one who could give him an answer to the question that was bothering his mind. He held on to the crutches, contemplating whether to go and meet her after what he'd seen or if he should hide from her. He decided to give her a chance to explain herself even though he had yet to know why she was there. With u
