As he approached the room, Duncan hesitated to enter when he overheard Zinnia engaged in a phone call.

“I don't care, Father. I need you to eliminate Duncan as soon as possible or I will never really consider you as my father. Okay. I will keep note of his movement while you prepare some of your men to carry out his elimination. I want him gone within the next 7 days, and it must happen. Bye.” She ended the call.

Duncan, smirking at the irony, entered the room. Zinnia, seemingly in high spirits, turned to face him with a smile, unaware of his eavesdropping earlier.

“You look so happy,” Duncan observed.

“Duncan, I really am,” Zinnia silently admitted, her tone carrying a sinister edge. “You will die soon, and that's great news to me.”

She straightened her shoulders and left the room without giving him any further response. Duncan, now privy to the unfolding schemes against him, contemplated his next moves in this intricate chess game of deception and betrayal.
