“Fuck!” Gabriel groaned, tossing his phone away for the umpteenth time for the day.

His father had been trying to reach him because he had declined all the meetings he tried to set Gabriel up to with numerous prestigious companies.

“We cannot continue this way, and we need to answer your father before he..”

Brittany’s troubled voice was cut short when Mr. Whitewood roared in the halls downstairs.

“Gabriel! Where the hell are you?” Mr. Whitewood yelled, marching through the halls of the house towards the stairs.

Gabriel who barely had life in him remained glued to the bed, not minding of his father found Lily in the house or not. Brittany on the other hand was scared to her bones. The only person Mr. Whitewood

She knew that would only make her more vulnerable than she already was, so she tried to avoid his eyes.“You have not said a thing since we left the hotel. Maybe you are still shaken by it,” he said, and she shook her head. “You will not even look at me,” he said, and she took a deep breath, turning to face him.“I will take you somewhere to cool off. “I think we should leave,” Daniel said to Lily, and she stared at him like a mentally deranged animal. How could he want them to turn back at this moment? Yes, it was scary to go down there without a clue of what was ahead of them, but to her, it was better than staying up there without anything.“I don’t care what you have to say, but if you won’t go down there with me, then I will go alone,” she said to him, turning on the torchlight on her phone. She flashed it through the halls of the secret room to see that it was spotless, showing that it was frequently accessed and maintained. She walked to the entrance, looking back at Daniel.“Are you coming or not?” she asked him, and then he sighed, walking up to her.He didn’t have a choice, because she was pregnant with his child, and he didn’t want to lose the baby.
