Knowing fully well that Brittany was going to put pressure on Gabriel in a way that she might get caught, Lily made Daniel buy a new scissors which they exchanged with the actual one. Then they went back to the study to get out the missing piece of cloth, and they wiped away the surface where the cloth was, before the forensic team arrived the next day.

When the team arrived, Lily kept mute, waiting to hear what they planned to do, so she would know her next line of action.
