As soon as the campaign was over, Mr. Whitewood walked over to Maureen to remind her of what they had at stake. He has waited too long, and he wanted his reward as soon as possible.

“Shall we?” He asked, and Maureen took his hand.

When they went outside, Brittany frowned as she spotted him, but that was just the beginning of her problem.

The entire arena was crowded with police.

“Mr. Whitewood, you need to come with us,” one policeman said, and he walked towards Gabriel’s father.

The man stood gallant, as he knew he could twist the law if he arrested, but deep down he felt a bit of fear because he knew how bad that would be in his name.

“Sergeant, what is the occasion that made you graze this scene with your presence?” He asked, and the policemen glanced at each other, contemplating on breaking the news to him.

They feared he would have a stroke knowing the fate of his only son.

“There has been an accident and your son and his wife are at the hospital in a critical state.”
