There was tension everywhere, seeing the man with a knife, holding and threatening to kill if they failed to let him escape.

“If anyone comes closer, I will kill him,” he threatened.

“Drop the knife,” one of the security personnel ordered, aiming his electric gun at him.

The man sneered and said, “Do you think I'm joking? Let me go, and he will live; don't use your stupidity to make me end his life,” he warned, slitting his throat a little. Blood started dripping from the hostage's neck.

James's eyes widened in horror, and he clenched his fist tight beside him. He looked around and noticed Lucas was not among the securities that came in; he served only James. He thought of saving the man and apprehending the criminal; he thought of fooling him by pretending to let him escape. He pretentiously looked terrified, and his eyes met with the man and he shouted, “Let's let him go!”

“Sir, he is a criminal; we can still arrest him.”
