CHAPTER FIFTY FIVE

After knowing about the worth of the house James knew that the Good Samaritan would be in danger. There was no way that Nathan would just let him be because he cleared off the bills for him. He was anxious as he waited for a call or signal of something.

Maureen could still see how restless James was and she went to him with a worried look on her face. He was staring into space so she had to tap his shoulders to bring him out of the trance.

“Are you feeling okay? You look kind of tense.” Maureen looked at him with worry and he didn’t want that to happen. She was the type to worry so easily.

“I’m fine. It’s nothing. Really.” He assured her but she didn’t look convinced in the slightest.

“Is it about the house with billions underneath it that you were talking about earlier?” She asked him and he looked at her with a shocked look.

“Why do you look so surprised that I got it? I know you too well, James.” She laughed and saw across him then looked at him.
