He intended to appreciate Maureen for being a mother and father figure in his life. Maureen had been there for him through thick and thin.James had already bought jewellery she would wear that day and booked a very nice venue that only rich people celebrate there. Now he had forgotten to buy clothes and shoes suitable for her. Thank God Maureen brought out that dress if not it wouldn't have occurred to James that he had forgotten the clothes she would wear.
