Tonia stood before Lucas's stately mansion, tiredness etched into the creases of her face. Her worn eyes mirrored the trials she had encountered, and the hollows under them showed the hunger that gnawed at her.

Her pride struggled with desperation as she pondered knocking on Lucas's door, an action she had never believed she'd do.

"Tonia? Are you alright?" Lucas queried, his voice filled with a combination of astonishment and genuine worry.
