STILL IN AWE

Maven and her mother sat in the living room wondering who could be responsible for sending the gift. She smiled and grabbed the keys and headed upstairs. She would wait just maybe the secret admirer would call or try to reach out in some way. Maven laid on her bed and held the note out again to read when her phone began to ring.

“Thomas? This isn't the call she was expecting at this point. She sighed and let the phone ring to a stop. She listened to the phone ring again before reluctantly picking up the phone from the bed.

“Hello Thomas”. She answered.

“Hello Maven I called to tell you I would be quite late today. I would be stopping at my grandma's house. I haven't seen them in a long while”. Thomas told her.

“It's fine you can take the whole day if you want”. She waved him off and ended the call, led back on the bed and began to wiggle her legs.
