Victor couldn’t wait to tell his father about the vital information he had just gathered about Peter’s past life. The informant had told him that the family was now destitute and would do anything for money and revenge on Peter for coming back with so much hatred for them.

He sat in his car, sipping his chilled can of Coke.

“Serves them right for being insensitive when he had nothing but damn the bastard that is my seat, my rightful position." He growled to himself as he silently waited for the next call to buzz in.

Just like he anticipated, his phone came humming in no time. A wicked smirk formed around his mouth region, his eyes anticipating the latest news from his accomplice.

“Any additional information?” Victor asked coldly.

Yes, boss. Uhm! Peter successfully bought the mansion from them some months ago." When he heard this part of the information again, his eyes darkened, and he didn’t hesitate to bark into the phone.

“Don’t be a silly spider; I already know about the purchased mansion; that’s not what you should be saying at this point".

“I’m sorry, boss. Mai was his ex-wife, and they never had a child. Although her family wanted her to leave the idiot, she refused until they found her someone else, and from what I see here, Peter is angry because the slut got pregnant for another.

“Ouch! Poor thing; that must have been devastating for him." Victor feigned some sympathy.

‘The boy has a long thing coming,” Victor said, shaking his head in sympathy.

“What did you say, boss?” Spider asked from the other end of the phone.

“Never mind, just be alert; the bastard has got eyes everywhere." Victor advice. He scanned the environment for a while and hopped into his car.

Turning on the ignition, he speeded off, his wheels screeching loudly against the concrete floor.

Mr. Kennedy paced his sitting room with his hand behind his back as he waited for his son to return. His entire body sparked back to life when he heard a car pulling over in front of the house.

It was a few minutes past eight p.m., and even though he had warned his son to refrain from staying out late, the young man blatantly refused, saying that no one would harm him and that he was grown enough to take care of himself.

Mr. Kenny peered out of his window at his son’s car stopping at the garage. He watched him step out, and when he was sure that it was his son, he took a deep breath and went back to his position.

Victor turned on the light when he got into the sitting room. He screamed when he found his dad sitting on the couch in his black robe.

"C'mon, Dad, you scared the ghost out of me," Victor said.

His dad laughed hard, hitting his hand against the sofa and saying, “Stop being a chicken. Grown men don’t jump out of their skins." He continued to laugh.

“It’s not even funny, Dad; my heart stopped beating for a second when I saw you sitting like that." He spoke, trying hard to calm his now-shivering nerves.

His dad patted him on the chest and motioned for him to take a seat across from him. “What’s the update? Did he find anything reasonable?” Kennedy asked with curiosity spread over his face. He widened his eyes as he waited with keen interest.

“It’s not good news per se; however, it's very useful information that could help us strike a good deal in a few weeks if we act fast," Victor stated.

He went on to explain all that his spy, Spider, had told him earlier. Kennedy nodded at intervals to show his attentiveness.

“So she was pregnant with another man? Did you get his name or something?"

Victor was getting frustrated by his father’s numerous questions, but he was obliged to answer every bit of it without complaining.

"Yes, she got pregnant for another man; his name wasn’t disclosed, and that is Peter’s pain point. I think the lady is trying to get back to him, and right now she can do anything".

Hearing this, Kennedy smiled, and his face brightened. “We could use the lady against him.”.

“Exactly what I thought".

The bastard just ruined all our plans; I should have strangled him with my bare hands when I had the time to do so. Victor spoke with regret and a little sprinkle of spite in his tone.

Kennedy folded his arms across his protruding stomach, giving him a knowing look. His mouth curled to an angle as he furrowed his brows to show his disappointment. “So why didn’t you do it, tiger?” he asked mockingly.

“That which showed up and spoiled everything." Victor lied to defend himself.

“Come clean, Victor. I knew you would never do a perfect job.” Kennedy got up to leave.

'You're just incompetent." He muttered, brushing Victor off with his broad shoulders. Victor fell back into the seat. He watched his father sway his thick body into the lobby.

“Don’t forget to turn off the lights," he called out over his shoulder as he made his way into his room.

Victor sighed.

It was noon the next day, and Mr. was trimming the flowers by the walkway when a black SUV stopped in front of him. He turned only to see two hefty men standing behind him, all masked in black from head to toe.

“Remain silent," one other man threatened, poking his ribs. The metal burned lightly into his skin as he stood numb. Before you knew it, a scarf was wrapped around his eyes, and quickly he was shoved into the car

. The car speeded off immediately with its tires protesting, emitting a sharp piercing sound as friction battled with the force against the concrete floor.

A cell phone came ringing and almost immediately left the scene; a familiar voice could be heard from the other end of the phone.

“We have the old fool boss; you shall see him soon." The phone of the men was said in a baritone voice.

After about an hour of driving, the car pulled up in front of a deserted building.“Get down, you old fool." One of the men screamed the command at Bill Steels. He was childishly open, shivering like a wet cat. He managed to push himself out of the car with his eyes still tied.“Please don’t kill me." Mr. Bill begged, his body shaking vehemently. He was led into the abandoned building by the men; he wasn’t sure how many rooms he passed, but he knew they made about three separate turns before they got to the dark room.“Take off the blinds," a voice commanded, and the man quickly did as instructed. Mr. Bill’s eyes were blurry by the time the blind was taken off. He could see human figures but couldn’t make out their faces.“Sit”. The one whom he suspected to be their boss commanded him again. The man had a voice akin to that of someone he knew, but he wasn’t sure until he could see clearly. His eyes soon adjusted to the darkness, and soon the man’s face came out. His eyes widened whe

He began to sob, then suddenly became serious again.“I want him out of my way; I want him dead; I want him crushed. I just want him out of my way for good."He said it angrily. Bill nodded his approval of the plan.“You can convince your daughter to track him into our trap, can you?”.'Yes, I can do that." Bill agreed without even thinking; all he wants is to be rich again and free from this stupid bondage of being a help to a boy old enough to be his son.“Fine then, I will let you go, but if you fail me, I will have your flesh ripped and fed to the birds".On hearing these dangerous threats, Bill goes on his knees and begins to beg.“Please spare my life; spare my family. I will make sure they all agree to the plan. I need my life back. I am tired

He blared his horn at the vehicle directly in front of him. “The fuck out of my way, old lady," he yelled, and even though she could not hear him, he kept cursing and screaming to herself. He finally got his chance to speed away, and immediately he turned left. He heard the sirens humming after him. He peered through the rare mirror and sighed.“Damn bastards!” he mouthed before pulling over with his hands still on the steering and his legs still on the breaks.“Take your legs off the breaks," the instruction came from the vehicle behind him.“What the fuck is he saying?" he asked himself.“Get your legs off the brakes," the instruction came, and th

This was also the very first time Victor would be humiliated publicly. By the time he got home, he was sent to vent his anger on any domestic staff that showed up in his way. His chest swelled with anger over the humiliation he had just received a moment ago. He screeched into the front of his father’s mansion and pulled just a few minutes away from the building with his suit in his hand.A notification soon pops up on his phone. He squints his eyes and peers into the screen to read it.“I am not ready for all of right now,” he signed and locked his phone screen. He punched the doorbell, and in no time, the maid came running. From where he was standing, he could hear the light thuds on the floor as she approached. When she pulled the door, she came face-to-face with two dangerously looking pairs of eyes. She has always known Victor to be rude, and she has no choice but to greet him still because he is her boss.“You are welcome, sir." Margret greeted. Victor didn’t even bother to gi

He has done all he could to make sure he wasn’t making any silly mistakes with the names. He paused, looked at the files for a while, and smiled. He knows that he will find what he is looking for. Just as he was about to scroll again, the door to the office creaked open. Cora was shocked to see him sitting behind his desk with his eyes wide open and focused on the door.“Hey Detective Reynolds! What are you doing here at this time? It’s the weekend, and you should be home." She said this to him as she walked into the room.“Well, I know it’s the weekend, but I have got so much work today before next week. The hospital seems to know him for always getting into fights, so he was not going to waste his time answering any questions or even driving down. The blood from his nose has increased incredibly, so he picked up his phone and called his personal doctor to come over. In less than thirty minutes, the doctor had pulled up outside the house.“You sounded really urgent over the phone." Dr. Kylian said as he hurried into the house.“I'm bleeding, doctor. I want to call if it isn't urgent." Victor answered. “I see,” the doctor replied, placing his first-aid box on the table.“You got into a fight again. Typical of you”. He teased and laughed.“The bastard always has a way of showing up here to fight me, and I am not going to let him beat me up all the time.”.‘Don't you think it's time you let him have his peace? You have done more harm than good around that man." Dr. Kylian said.‘Stay out of my family

Is this what you think of me? Kayla was broken by his question. She looked at him and let tears well up in her eyes.“I saw the pictures of the two of you standing at a close range like lovers,” Peter lied.“A picture? Show it to me and tell me about the idiot who took the picture. This is a setup, and you want to believe it after all we have been through together?”. She asked in disappointment.“So are you going to tell me what happened today after the ice cream shop?”.“Ice cream shop? Wait a minute. He had only been in Reynolds Company for a few days, and he was beginning to blend in with his vibes so much.“And when do you plan to return?” Pablo asked like a woman whose husband was going on a war trip.“I do not know. But I am sure I will visit this part of town sometime soon.” There was a little silence between them for a while before Reynolds spoke again. “I wonder why he brought the factory this far; his father knows better. What could he possibly do after inheriting this space from his father?" They both chuckled at Reynolds' thought.“I hope you find what you seek, detective.”“You are the only one who knows about my mission here, and I know that we have had a good deal. Now that Pablo had seen his real face, it was going to be a little bit difficult to be free around him with that mask on, but he had to do it after all. He took off the mask and lay on his bed while his heart raced through his home, wondering if his items were safe in the house.”I guess I have to call Richards to go help me check what’s going on with the house, or if someone has boggled it. He has his most valuable things there. He took a deep breath, rummaged his phone on the side of the bed, and called Richard's number. Richard answered the call with a cracked voice.“You must have been sleeping. I am so sorry for waking you up.”“No, it's fine,” the voice said at the end of the call.“Well, I want you to help check on my home to see if everything is still intact. After a quick shower, Reynolds rushed off to the playground, where the others had been waiting for him to come and play the game. The moment he showed up, the crowd began to cheer for the victory of the previous day."Oh, my good friend is here, and today I shall teach him the ways of the old when it comes to chess.”“Be mindful of what you wish for, my dear friend," Reynolds spoke, his fake white beards dangling from side to side. They played the game for very long hours as no one of them was willing to quit for the other, and then at the last minute, Reynolds won again. This time, Pablo had put his one hundred dollars into a bet. Reynolds laughed hard and patted him on the shoulder. Pablo shook his hand off with all his strength and then fell back into heavy laughter."Man, you are a monster. Now I can believe that you are a lord when it comes to the game of chess. I will hand over the crown to you for as long as you are here." He told Reynolds, who was busy taking his drink. Reynol
