CHAPTER 138

Reynolds stood on the front porch, wondering what audacity had made Victor show up at his house unannounced to try to bribe him. He laughed and shook his head at the temerity he had built over the years to think that a renowned and well-respected detective like Reynolds would set the tone for such foolishness.

“I am way bigger than that change you came with." He murmured and went back into the house. He checked the gun again, knowing fully well that there was no bullet inside the gun. Reynolds smiled. At least he has a day or two to enjoy the house they made available for all the moments.

He got into his apartment, dressed up fully, before leaving the house on his way out and placing a call to Reuben, his colleague. He looked at his car from a distance, and a white substance rested in between the windscreen and the glass. Reynolds rubbed his chin quickly as he walked forward to take a look before getting into his car.
