Rickie’s arrival didn’t surprise Trevor Genos after all, their previous conversation ended on a light note. It was what it was. He was here as a friend. To check on him and how life was taking him.

Happily, he asked the family cook to prepare their meal. And if Trevor hadn’t been so exhilarated that his friend was here, making him forget some of his daily issues, he would have noticed Rickie’s smile wasn’t the same smile he always wore.

Upon turning, Rickie nodded, robotically.

“The food will be ready soon,” Trevor said, then sipped his drink.
