“Oh, Mr. Jackson, you shouldn’t have bothered.” Fiona Glen said dismissively, staring at the sparkling pearl earrings.

“No problem, ma’am,” Milton replied, showing off his teeth. Hoping they didn’t realize how fake the smile was.

“But where did you get the money from.” She eyed him up and down. There it was, the beginning of belittlement. Oh, how he wished he thought wrong.

“Honey, don’t be rude.” Mr. Glen came to his defense.

“Mrs. Glen, you would look beautiful in those.” Milton complimented, staring at the door, hoping Gabe or Nala would come through, embarrass him then call it a night.

Although he was exhausted, he couldn’t miss coming. He promised Glen.

However, just yesterday he learned the date he agreed to aligned with Mrs. Glen’s birthday and luckily, Tiwari knew someone who would sell him the pearls in such minimal time.

Milton wondered what Gabe told her.

The pearl was from him, did it matter if they were fake or real?
