Chapter Thirty-Three

For some reason, everyone was quiet today. Neither Meehan nor Sarai talked rudely to him. And since it was high time he had that quietness, Milton didn’t question them.

As Milton was busy daydreaming about the gorgeous lady she met at the Ever Coffee Shop, Meehan waved in front of him. “Milton, can I have a minute?”

“Sure.”

“I hope he won’t grill me on why I was at the party.” Milton thought as he followed outside. They entered a lift and Meehan didn’t push any buttons. “Please,” Milton begged mentally.

Meehan studied him for what felt like an eternity, he was fighting the urge to ask him a million questions. He came to a consensus and shrugged. He punched the button and looked away.

The lift stopped. Dominic was waiting for him. “Thank you, Meehan.”

“No problem, Dominic. See you, Milton.”

“What was that?” Milton asked.

Before Dominic answered, Aida came to view, “Young master, my apologies for calling you out of the blue.”

“No problem. Is everything okay with my uncle?”

“Yes
