"I'll tell you, Mr. Kim, Mr. Jonathan. Please, I'll tell you everything," Scrappy whimpered, on the verge of tears.

Meanwhile, Joseph returned to his seat, still smiling.

"Joseph, is that guy with all the bandages an idiot or something? He saw you and practically fell out of his chair in fright!" Alice asked, her voice tinged with curiosity. There was something about the situation that struck her as odd, as though there was more to the story than she knew.

"Last night, Raymond Kim sent some guys to ambush me. That bandaged guy? I beat him up pretty badly. If I hadn’t held back, his ribs would’ve all been broken, and he’d be in the hospital for months."

Joseph spoke nonchalantly, as if it were no big deal. "I might’ve left a bit of a psychological scar on him. So, naturally, he’s scared out of his mind when he sees me."

"What? Raymond Kim tried to ambush you last night?" Alice's face paled as she processed the gravity of what Joseph had just said.

"Yeah, but it wasn’t a big deal. They

“Fuck! You’re useless!” Raymond suddenly snapped at Scrappy. “You couldn’t even accomplish a simple task. You took all those people with you, and not only did you fail to hurt him, but all of you ended up injured. Worthless!”Scrappy could only lower his head in silence, unable to muster a defense.“Mr. Kim, I didn’t expect Joseph to be that strong. He’s like a demon,” Scrappy ventured, trying to explain.“Are you fucking kidding me? One man took down all of you? What is he, some kind of martial arts master? A god of war?” Raymond spat, clearly not buying it.Jonathan chimed in, “Mr. Kim’s right. You expect us to believe that one guy took on ten of you? Did he use some kind of trick?”Scrappy, on the verge of tears, felt utterly defeated. When he had tried to downplay the incident earlier, they didn’t believe him. Now that he was telling the truth, they still didn’t believe him. Life was unfair.“Regardless, it’s over now,” Scrappy muttered. “Mr. Kim, Mr. Jonathan, can we please finis

Joseph scanned the payment code, but before he could complete the transaction, Alice spoke up.“Joseph, let me pay. I wanted to treat you to lunch,” Alice offered.“No need, I’ve got it,” Joseph replied with a smile, finishing the payment. The waitress handed them the receipt and then added with a playful tone, “As part of our customer appreciation event, every guest receives one of our newest desserts and a tea to take home. I noticed the young lady didn’t eat much—she was too busy serving her boyfriend. If you get hungry on the way back, you can enjoy the treats.”Alice’s face flushed at the word boyfriend. “I didn’t eat much, but I’m already full,” she answered quietly, her cheeks turning pink. The waitress giggled. “I didn’t mean anything by it—I’m just envious of how sweet you two are together.”“Ah…”Alice blushed even more, unable to hide her embarrassment. Since when were waitresses this forward?Joseph, sensing her discomfort, smiled at the waitress to change the subject. “Th

“When we get back, I’ll give you another massage. You didn’t sleep much last night, and after the massage, you should take a bath and get some rest. While a massage can relieve some fatigue, it’s no replacement for proper sleep,” Joseph said as he drove.“Another massage?” Alice’s cheeks flushed as she lowered her head slightly. She felt embarrassed yet excited, her emotions a confusing mix.“What? Don’t you like massages?” Joseph noticed her reaction and asked, slightly puzzled.“Huh? Of course I like them! I love massages!” Alice quickly denied, her voice a little too eager. “You’re really good at it, Joseph. Every time, it’s so... relaxing.”“Good to hear,” Joseph replied, glancing at her. For some reason, her words seemed to carry an odd undertone. What does she mean by ‘so relaxing’? he wondered, feeling something strange about the way she said it.“Mhm,” Alice murmured softly, biting her lip in a way that would have driven anyone crazy—good thing Joseph didn’t notice, or he migh

“Charles Martin, let’s get one thing clear: I’ve never agreed to anything between us, so stop talking nonsense,” Fiona said coldly, her expression hardening.“Fiona, I understand. You’ve just been through a divorce, so it’s hard for you to accept any changes right now. But I’m willing to wait as long as it takes,” Charles said, his gaze lingering on her with an intensity that made Fiona uncomfortable. For years, he had fantasized about being with both Cooper sisters. His mind was filled with images of them, and the thought of having Fiona—and maybe even Heidi—made his blood boil with desire.Heidi could see the lust in his eyes as he stared at her sister. It made her stomach turn. She clenched her fists, barely restraining the urge to punch him right then and there.“You say you’ve never met my ex-brother-in-law, but he’s definitely seen you,” Heidi said with a cold smirk.“Oh? Is that so? When did he see me?” Charles asked, momentarily caught off guard."My brother-in-law is also a t

“Heidi, wait!” Charles stood up, making a half-hearted attempt to follow her. He glanced at Fiona, then hurried after Heidi, putting on a show of concern. But Heidi was already halfway down the street by the time he reached the door, leaving Charles standing there, watching her retreating figure with frustration. He cursed under his breath, his expression darkening.“Little bitch,” he muttered to himself, his voice laced with venom. “So protective of that worthless brother-in-law of yours? Just wait. Once I’ve got your sister, I’ll make sure you end up in my bed too, and then we’ll see how high and mighty you feel.”His face twisted with malice as he spat on the ground, his thoughts filled with perverse fantasies. Once Heidi had disappeared from view, he plastered a fake smile back on his face and returned to the table, sitting down opposite Fiona.“She’s young. She’ll cool down and come around eventually,” Charles said, forcing a sympathetic tone. “Don’t worry—she’ll understand you’r

“You used to say you hated him, that you thought he was worthless. So why now?”“Fiona, why can I hear regret in everything you say about him? What’s so good about a failure like him?”“Fiona, you must be out of your mind.”Charles muttered under his breath, his fists clenching in barely restrained fury.He had thought that once he returned and won over Fiona Cooper’s parents, everything would fall into place. But in truth, marriage wasn’t even his goal. All he wanted was Fiona’s body—if he could have that, it would be enough.Since childhood, Fiona had been his obsession. Even while abroad, with countless women at his disposal, his thoughts often drifted back to her.Fiona was the one thing he couldn’t get past. From the moment he made up his mind, he had sworn to conquer her, to break her wild spirit. And not just her—he wanted Heidi too.“Fiona, Heidi—no matter what, I’ll have both of you in my bed.”“Don’t force me to use more drastic measures.”With that dark thought lingering, C

Why does she treat you like this?”“Brother-in-law, I just don’t understand. She used to be different. Now she’s narrow-minded, selfish, and so full of herself. What happened to her?” Heidi’s frustration poured out, as though she had been bottling it up for far too long.“Where are you right now?” Joseph asked, steering the conversation back on track.“I’m at school. I was too upset to eat earlier, but now I’m starting to feel hungry,” Heidi admitted in a small voice, still sounding a bit tearful.“I’ll bring you something to eat. After leaving the night market, Joseph and Mason Alvarez strolled down a quiet street. It was still a bit of a walk back to where they had parked. They had wandered quite far without realizing it."Mr. Wilson, are you out of your mind? That guy was throwing questions at you left and right—didn't that strike you as suspicious? How could you just share your personal information with a total stranger?""Especially things like your phone number, ID number, and other personal details—you should never reveal those to anyone.""These days, society’s a mess. Who knows what someone might do with that kind of information?"Mason walked steadily along the road, speaking in a casual tone."I know," Joseph replied with a nod."Then why did you do it?"Mason shot him a disbelieving look."Because I didn’t think he was a bad person. He had this air about him—stern, principled. He said he was a soldier, fresh off the battlefield."Joseph smiled faintly as he spoke."You can sense someone’s aura? He

“Nothing really,” Clarence Bennett said, scratching his head with a sheepish smile. “Just saw a familiar face and wanted to say hi.”“But you seemed like you were in a hurry, as if something important was going on,” Joseph replied with a faint smile.“Did I?” Clarence chuckled awkwardly. “You two were walking so fast, I could barely keep up.”Joseph raised an eyebrow, clearly unconvinced.“To be honest, Mr. Wilson, you remind me of someone I used to know.”“You remember last time, I asked if you had any military experience?”“I remember,” Joseph said calmly. “And I already answered that question.”“Maybe I was just hoping too much,” Clarence admitted. “You’re just so much like him. But how could someone forget whether they served or not?”“I’ve forgotten a lot of things. Much of my past is just... blank.”Joseph’s tone was light, but distant.“You know, you’re really nosy,” Mason Alvarez suddenly cut in, her voice sharp. “Mr. Wilson clearly isn’t that close to you, yet you keep asking

Joseph’s dart shot through the air like a streak of silver light.Thud! With a sharp snap, it embedded itself deep into the spinning wheel. The moment it struck, the wheel froze in place. The dart had landed precisely in the red zone. The crowd around the stall gasped, stunned into silence.“Boss, does that mean I get to take the bunny home now?” Joseph asked with a grin.“This... this can’t be real…” the vendor stammered, momentarily speechless.“Was that really a bullseye? Am I seeing things?”“No, you’re not. He nailed it—one shot, dead center.”“My God… are there really men in this world who are that accurate?”The onlookers were in complete disbelief. To say he’d do it in one throw—and then actually do it? It was surreal.“Mr. Wilson, did you really hit it with just one dart?” Mason Alvarez rubbed her eyes, still unable to believe it.“What do you think?” Joseph replied, clearly amused by her expression.“If I’m not hallucinating, then yes… one dart. You nailed it.” Mason shook h

Before long, the table was covered with dishes. In truth, Mason Alvarez had already eaten quite a bit earlier, snacking on all sorts of things. Now, she only picked at a few bites before deciding she’d had enough. After about half an hour, she asked the waiter to pack up the remaining food for Joseph to take home.“Mr. Wilson, your car’s parked near the plaza, right? How about we walk back through the pedestrian street?”Mason suggested casually.“What else would we do, call a cab for five minutes of walking?” Joseph shot her a look.“Then let’s take it slow. It’s still early, and this area isn’t far from where your little sweetheart and I both live.”Mason skipped ahead with a cheerful grin.It was peak night market hours and the pedestrian street was bustling with people. Stalls lined both sides, offering every kind of street food imaginable.Mason wandered from one to the next, her eyes lighting up at every new snack.“Mr. Wilson, look! There’s a dart game over there. “Huh? What did you say? Joseph can play the piano? How come I didn’t know that?”Alice’s voice was filled with genuine surprise.“You didn’t know either?”Mason Alvarez was equally taken aback. Joseph might have forgotten things, but Alice—his childhood friend—surely wouldn’t be unaware. After all, the two of them had grown up together.“Nope, I had no idea! But honestly, Joseph knows so many things, it wouldn’t surprise me if he could do anything.”“And he’s always been so low-key. Unless absolutely necessary, he never shows off his talents.”“Ugh, this Butterfly Lovers performance was so beautiful... and he’s never played a single note for me!” Alice grumbled, clearly annoyed.“The concert’s almost over. You’ll be getting your man back soon,” Mason quickly replied.“You better be right. "Thank you for the offer, Mr. Zasit," Joseph said with a faint, bitter smile, "but I’m afraid I must decline.""I have a deep love for music, but the piano is only a hobby for me. I’ve never intended to pursue it as a lifelong career."The host translated Joseph’s response in real time, and Zasit’s face registered visible shock."Oh! What a pity," Zasit exclaimed, stunned. "You possess extraordinary talent. You should be shining on the world's grandest stages."He was clearly taken aback. It was hard for him to imagine anyone turning down his invitation."Is he insane? Do you know how many musicians would kill for such an opportunity?""If Zasit ever recognized me, I'd probably laugh myself awake from the dream.""Still, I suppose Mr. Wilson has earned the right to choose. If Zasit himself calls him gifted beyond compare, how many people in this world could match that praise?"The crowd buzzed with astonishment and admiration.“My performance is over, and I’ve done what I came here to

  • Chapter 342

“Mr. Zasit met the love of his life when they were just sixteen. At the time, he was penniless but hopelessly devoted to music.”“She supported his dream unconditionally. To make ends meet, she worked tirelessly, taking on odd jobs just to feed him.”“But when he finally achieved fame and success, tragedy struck—she fell gravely ill and passed away in his arms. He watched helplessly as the light faded from her eyes.”“Mr. Wilson’s music stirred memories long buried deep within him, transporting him back to those difficult yet beautiful days. For a fleeting moment, he saw her radiant smile again.”“That’s why he lost control of his emotions. He asked me to express his sincerest apologies to everyone here.”With those words, the host concluded Zasit’s story and bowed respectfully to the audience. The hall erupted once more in thunderous applause.Off to the side, Lewis Craig stood frozen, his face contorted in embarrassment. He gritted his teeth. What the hell just happened? How is this

Joseph didn’t respond immediately. Instead, he took a moment to consider.“Since Mr. Craig has chosen a foreign love song, I will also choose a love-themed classic from Elysia.”“I’ll play the piano piece Butterfly Lovers.”He spoke calmly, but with conviction.“Butterfly Lovers? What an outdated, cliché piece. How utterly provincial,” Lewis Craig sneered, scoffing with disdain under his breath.“Oh, Butterfly Lovers? I know it. I’ve heard it... it’s beautiful!”Zasit, after a moment’s struggle to catch the key words in Joseph’s sentence, suddenly lit up. In his excitement, he blurted out one of the few phrases he knew in Elysian.“Sir, I know this piece. It’s famous—a tragic love story. If you can perform it, whether it’s perfect or flawed, my journey today will be complete.”He spoke in French, his Elysian heavily accented and broken, clearly limited in vocabulary.“Mr. Zasit said he knows the piece Butterfly Lovers and is familiar with its sorrowful tale of love,” the host translat

The host, clearly at a loss under Joseph’s instruction, turned instinctively to Lewis Craig for guidance.“Translate it, obviously! Why are you looking at me like that? I didn’t understand a word they said either!” Lewis Craig frowned, irritation flashing across his face. He was beginning to suspect the host was not the brightest.“You want me to translate word for word?” The host muted his mic and asked.“Isn’t that obvious? If you don’t translate it properly, how the hell am I supposed to know what they said?” Lewis Craig was nearly seething. He was tempted to kick the man off stage. Where did the organizers find this genius? Completely clueless.Following the instruction, the host began translating the exchange between Joseph and Zasit for the audience. As the audience listened, surprise and admiration rippled through the hall. Suddenly, Joseph’s earlier evasiveness about his memory made perfect sense.“Before I begin,” Joseph said, addressing the room in fluent French, “I nee
