Ulmer could have gone easy on Ben and even let him win for the sake of keeping his face intact in front of Amelie.

However, the overconfident words that Ben uttered by saying ‘it’s my victory’ made Ulmer act almost instinctively. He ended up utterly smacking Ben’s hand to the table in no time.

Silence filled the whole hall. Nobody spoke a word for a few seconds. Ivy was left in disbelief, and Amelie was also quite astonished by the result.

Even Ulmer was not expecting to do what he had done. He was planning on dragging the fight at least for half a minute or so, but then Ben’s words triggered him into reacting before he knew it.

“I-I’m sorry,” Ulmer said.

Ben’s face turned a bit ugly in response.

“Haha,” Calvin laughed out loud. “Why are you apologizing for winning?”

“Quite an interesting fellow he is,” Fiona chortled. “And he’s quite strong, too.”

“You don’t have to feel bad for losing, Ben,” Amelie told him in front of everyone. “There’s always someone better than us in any field.”
