The men returned their gazes to the old man who suddenly fell on his back, and let out a huff from his mouth and nostrils. For a few seconds, Jason remained silent, but it didn’t seem like that was going to solve anything. The rays from the sunlight were shining brightly through the casement windows inside the bedroom. The curtains were half closed, giving way to the rays that hit Brenda’s eyes while she groaned in her sleep. As though there was a force, she opened her eyes instantly, only to behold the sight of shirtless Jason sitting close to her with a tray in both hands. “Wakie wakie! For a few seconds Jason was silent while he exchanged glances with the couple, not sure of who he was to face. It was obvious that they were expecting to hear him speak, but the silence in the room was killing them, having more effect on Lucas who couldn’t forget the words he said to him. He was afraid that the day of reckoning had come, and it was time to pay for all his crimes. Everyone remained silent amidst the tension that surrounded the air. While Lucas kept his eyes on Jason who remained still with a smirk on his face, he struggled with the contemplation of either remaining where he was standing, or moving backward. For a second, he took two steps backward, but because it felt as though his body no longer belonged to him, he couldn’t move afterward. “Hello… Dad.
