Divulgence

Jason had just returned from purchasing grocery; his wife had sent him off as usual to the store. That had always been the regular routine. Jason would always run errands while she went on social gatherings and had fun with her friends. Even the care of the baby became his responsibility.

He walked into the house through the backdoor then he made use of the elevator, his two hands holding the grocery bags firmly. Approaching their apartment, he could hear laughter and giggling. Dropping the bags on the cabinet in the kitchen, he made his way to their bedroom curious of who was the owner of the deep male voice he could hear from the room.

The door to the bedroom was slightly opening, Jason could see two figures on the bed lying very close to each other in a romantic manner.

He opened the door wider and walked into the room hurriedly to behold the two persons kissing and caressing each other on the bed. His wife Isabella was on lingerie while the man was bare-bodied.

“What the hell!”

“Hello Jason. Perfect timing.”

Jason couldn’t believe his eyes, his best friend Clark was on bed with his wife shirtless. The same person who had convinced him to marry Isabella when she proposed a contract marriage.

“Thank you so much for introducing me to Clark here, he seems to be more of a capable man than you can ever be.” Isabella said smiling coyly.

Jason was speechless, he just looked at the two completely motionless. They acted as though he was not even present in the room.

“You couldn’t have.”

“Oh what? You thought I was going to settle with a loser like you? No way! I no longer need you. I have enough now. At last I can breathe some fresh air after two years of being miserable with you in my life.”

Clark kissed her on the forehead and she chuckled, wrapping her arms around him.

Jason was pissed, he could not bear the sight of the betrayal. Rushing at his friend, he hurled him over the bed to the floor. Clark fell and Jason pounced on him gripping him by his neck and pressing him down.

“Get away from him! You scumbag.” Isabella hit Jason with a pillow but it obviously had no effect on him.

Soon, the baby who was sleeping in his cradle at the other end was awakened by the brawl and he started crying. They were so engrossed in their struggle that they paid no attention to the baby who soon started to scream loudly.

Andrew, Jacob and Fiona walked into the room to behold Jason holding Clark down as he struggled to release his hands from his neck while Isabella tried so much to detach Jason’s hands from Clark’s neck.

Andrew and Jacob rushed at Jason and dragged him forcefully away from Clark pinning him down. Then they raised him up and placed him in a kneeling posture; their hands holding his two hands behind him and his neck pushed backwards. Clark got up immediately and punched Jason so hard on his face that it got swollen and turned red.

“You bastard! Today marks the end of the road for you.”

Clark was panting profusely from Jason’s long grip on his neck. Holding onto his neck, he gasped for air.

Fiona rushed to her daughter and checked her body to see if she was hurt, Isabella embraced her mother tightly as though Jason had hit her.

“My pumpkin, did this fool touch you?”

Isabella just held on to her mother making a gloomy face.

“I want a divorce! I am tired!”

“What!”

Jason was shocked, at that moment, he realized that everything was planned, everyone seemed to be expecting the sudden outburst from his wife. Still kneeling with his two hands held behind him and struggling to remove Jacob’s hands from his neck he imagined what his life was turning into.

He got into the marriage of convenience with Isabella two years earlier after they had been involved in a one-night stand the same night his girlfriend left him. He came to the bar to drink and met Isabella.

She proposed that they got married for some months and she was going to pay him the sum of 300,000 dollars once her Grandfather unfroze her accounts.

Lord Richard Palmer wasn’t so pleased with the reckless lifestyle his favorite and youngest granddaughter was living and so he froze her bank cards promising to unfreeze them once she got married. He also promised to increase her allowances if she could make use of her degree and work in any of the family companies.

Isabella knew that she didn’t study in school and through her mother, she paid hugely to be awarded her degree. Jason had great potentials and knew a lot about Medical Science and so having him as a husband was a plus.

Seeing that he needed money to fund his experiment on a prototype he was working on, Isabella knew that he was desperate for the money.

At first things were going as planned until Isabella was discovered to be pregnant. This made her to be stuck with Jason for two years.

“Please the baby! He needs attention. Someone should check on him.”

Jason’s major concern was his one year old son; no one seemed to be  paying much attention to his shrilling cry. Realizing that the baby had been crying for a long time, Fiona rushed to his cradle and picked him up.

“He would be better off without you. Your absence would have no effect as does your presence.”

Fiona carried the baby outside the room petting his head softly in an attempt to get him to stop crying.

“Hello guys! Seen a Gold digger before? Here is a perfect example of one.”

Chloe walked into the room almost immediately Fiona left and seeing Jason in that state, she brought out her phone and began to record him on her live session on social media.

“Now ladies, remember never to marry a man who can’t take care of you.” She giggled in satisfaction while Jason bent his face in shame. She had over 5,000 followers and soon, the video began to trend getting a lot of reactions and re-posts.

Andrew and Jacob let him go sending him out of the mansion. They pushed him with great force, causing him to stagger and almost fall.

“Don’t come back here ever again, you can sleep in the cabin till she divorces you.”

Jacob found so much delight in treating Jason like thrash. He had always seen him as a threat ever since he came into the family. Sometimes, his Grandfather compared him to Jason and this pissed him off bitterly.

Jason picked up his black jacket which Clark had thrown at him after they pushed him out of the building. He dusted it and held it in his left hand.

“Be gone loser! And never come back. Take your empty pockets away from this place.”

Isabella felt like she was finally free from bondage she grinned at Jason while Clark held on to her waist.

“Don’t worry, I will tell Henry that you are dead. I am sure he wouldn’t want a loser like you for a father.”

Jason looked at his assailants for the last time; tears dropping from his eyes. Then he turned around and walked away.

The slow walk from the main building towards the gate seemed like the longest walk Jason had ever taken.

He stepped outside the fence and turning to face the building, he held on to his jacket sighing heavily.

Just then, his phone rang. He pushed it out of his pocket and looked at the screen. It was an unknown caller. He waited for a few seconds before he finally picked the call.

“Hello, Young Master! We have been in search of you for years.”
