Jason looked around the room and the first thing that caught his attention was the picture of his parents hanging on the wall at the right corner of the room. He quickly moved closer to it and looked at it for over a minute. His parents were very much younger when they took the picture, and he could see the striking resemblance between him and his father, he looked like it was he who took the picture with another lady. “Beautiful eyes.” He said with a whisper, and then he touched the picture and sighed heavily without taking his eyes away from it. When he was satisfied, he turned away slowly and looked at the rest of the corners of the room. In front of him was a shelf filled with so many books, and he couldn’t help but move toward it to see the books inside it. He grabbed one of the books that drew his attention, and then he blew on it to take off the dust that was all over it. He remembered how he loved reading books and had to stop after he got married to Isabella and his

Jason was woken up the next morning by the thoughts that lingered in his mind. It was very early, and only the birds were awake by that time, but he was already up, and thinking about all the situations surrounding him. For about an hour, he didn’t know which one of them he was to be focused on, and he quickly went into the bathroom to wash his face after brushing his teeth. He got out as soon as he was done and sat in the chair next to the desk by the corner of the bedroom after he had picked up his phone from the cabinet. “What do I do now?” He said as though he was asking some other person in the room, but his mind remained empty for a while. He continued thinking for a while, and when he eventually had an idea that he really wasn't sure of, he picked up his phone and called the Doctor. “I hope this works, I hope it does.” He whispered to himself while he waited for the Doctor to take his call. “Hello, Mr. Caryso! I was just about to call you!” “Hello, Doctor. Good mo

James wondered why Jason decided that they wait outside the building, but he couldn’t ask any questions. First, the surroundings were strange, there was nobody around, and there was just one building at the end of the lonely road. A few seconds after they got to the location, Jason stared at the building, and memories of the past flooded into his mind. The building used to be his foster home until it was partly destroyed by flood, and no one cared to fix it. The children were forced to sleep on one side of the building, while they prayed for a miracle. Jason could remember all the ill-treatment he got from the people in the foster home and even some of the children who bullied him. He suffered greatly until he was lucky enough to have been adopted by a young couple who couldn’t have children, even though his happiness didn’t last for so long. After about five minutes of getting to the location, Jason saw someone walking toward the building from the other side of the road, and he

“Alright, Kelvin. I see that you look really confused. Why don’t you grab a seat?” Jason pointed to the chair beside him, and Kelvin pulled it to himself after a few seconds of observing the environment. “Here, take this.” Melvin handed the tablecloth over to Kelvin who took it at once and nodded in appreciation before he wiped his chair with it. When he was done, he dropped the tablecloth on the floor and sat down slowly. “I am sorry that you had to come to this kind of place, but this is the only secure place I could think about under such short notice,” Jason said as soon as Kelvin was seated, and then he took in a deep breath which he let out slowly before he continued. “Gentlemen. Welcome to this meeting, I know there are a lot of questions on your mind right now, but I will make sure that they are all answered, all of them.” Jason began to speak to the men seated with him, while they had their eyes on him, still wondering what his plans were. Jason paused for a few secon

As soon as he heard those words from Isabella from the other side of the line, Melbon tried to speak, but he lacked the right words to say, and he looked at Jason, suddenly feeling very uneasy. “Your family. You wanna see your family.” Jason mouthed to him and with a hand gesture, urged him to go ahead. Melvin took in a deep breath which he let out slowly, and then he remained silent for a while, trying to catch his breath. “Are you going to speak or not? I don’t have all day.” “Yes! Yes! Wait! I will talk!” Melvin sighed heavily, and then he cleared his throat twice, while the other men in the hall focused all their attention on him. “I want to speak to my family, I wanna speak to my wife and kids.” For a few seconds, Isabella was silent, and Jason crossed his fingers, hoping that she was going to budge, and not ask too many questions. The silence lingered for a while, and the men almost thought that she was out or that the call had ended. “Hello?” Melvin said with a

At once, the attention of everyone in the room went to the phone, as it continued to ring. As soon as Melvin confirmed that it was Isabella who was calling, he lifted his face to look at Jason with a little tension in his body.“It’s her. She is the one calling.” “Kelvin? Are you ready?” Jason turned to look at Kelvin who nodded at once before he turned to look at the screen of his laptop, ready to begin his work. Jason cleared his throat at once, and then he turned to look at Melvin who was waiting to hear what he was going to say. “Go ahead, take the call. But remember to be cool, don’t make her get suspicious, we can’t risk this chance. It’s now or never.” “Got it.” Melvin nodded, and then he dragged the green icon on the screen of the phone and answered the call. “Hello? Miss Palmer?” Kelvin said with a voice a little above a whisper, but he was only met with a few seconds of silence. He looked at Jason, but he gestured to him to remain calm so that he wouldn’t give h

“Yes! Yes! Yes! Thank goodness!” Melvin walked from one corner ofthe hall to another and clapped his hands severally after he gasped in excitement. Eventually, he let down the tears that were gathered up in his eyes, they were tears of joy. He couldn’t keep himself from chuckling severally in joy, and severally, he gasped and sighed in relief while the rest of the men watched him in satisfaction. “Congratulations, Doctor! I told you they were going to be fine.” “Yes, you did! Yes, you did, Mr. Caruso! I am so glad I trusted you on this, I almost doubted the fact that you were going to be able to help me with this. Now I know that this righteousness truly helps.” Melvin said with so much gladness, and then he walked up to Jason with his smile unbroken, and he attempted to get on his knees in excitement. “Thank you so much for saving my family, Mr. Casruso! “Can I ask you a few questions, Young Master?” James said calmly while they walked toward the car, causing Jason to turn to look at him for a while. “Sure, James. What is it?” Jason waited to hear what James was going to say, while the bodyguard looked for a better way to direct his question toward his boss. “Why did the Doctor keep referring to you as Mr. Caruso? And why don’t you have the Palmers destroyed with a snap of your fingers? You don’t really have to do so much, just say the words, and everyone will be at your disposal, you are the most powerful man in Granada Hills and beyond, well, aside from your Grandfather.” Jason looked at James for a while, and gradually the curiosity on his face disappeared, and a smile began to take over. He took in a deep breath which he exhaled sharply while the bodyguard waited to hear from him. “Well, first of all, James. Everyone knows me as Jason Caruso, and I am still not ready to reveal my true identity until I am certain of several

Do you need anything?” “Yes. Hello. We are looking for a lady called Shirley. I was told she works here.” Jason said with a smile as well, looking at the waitress whose countenance showed that she didn’t know who he was talking about. “Shirley? I don’t think I know any Shirley who works here, Sir. I am new here, but I can get you someone who could know.” “Yes, please! Thank you so much.” Harry said calmly, gesturing to the waitress who nodded before walking away, holding onto the small notepad and pen she had in her hands. “I really hope this ends well,” Jason said with a whisper, sighing firstly while he kept his eyes on the path the waitress took. Bring Him Home
For a few seconds, Jason remained silent, but it didn’t seem like that was going to solve anything. The old man was still waiting to get a response from him, and Harry was interested to know the outcome of their meeting as well. Adjusting himself to get a more comfortable posture, Jason cleared his throat and sighed before he spoke with a voice that almost sounded like a whisper. “He has a son.” He said calmly, but his words were too heavy for the other men in the room to remain as calm as he was. Lord Walker knew Jason to be a man who didn’t joke with such things but for a second, he remained calm, hoping that he was going to say he was joking. Maybe he meant to say something else. “A son?” “Yes, Grandpa. He has a son.” “Julius has a son?” Lord Walker leaned forward, and grabbed the half-empty glass of water which he consumed before returning it to the table. “Are you okay, Lord Walker?” Harry asked, moving closer to the old man who raised his hands to stop him from g

The rays from the sunlight were shining brightly through the casement windows inside the bedroom. I hope I tried.” Jason handed the cup of coffee to Brenda who blew on the coffee before taking a sip. “Easy! I

Special Announcement
While everyone sat comfortably, eating and drinking everything that had been set on the table, Jason picked up the glass of wine in front of him, and after looking at his Grandfather and getting the signal from him, he nodded before lifting the glass. “I have a special announcement!” He hit his fork on the brim of the glass, drawing the attention of everyone seated at the table who instantly put a hold t what they were doing, and paid keen attention to him. Everyone remained silent amidst the tension that surrounded the air. For a second, he took two steps backward, but because it felt as though his body no longer belonged to him, he couldn’t move afterward. “Hello… Dad. I see you haven’t left your old habits.” Jason pointed at the bottle of whiskey which Lucas tightly held onto even in the midst of the cringe that engulfed him. “It’s you.” Lucas’ voice was shaky. And while he held onto the half-empty bottle, he gently lifted it up to look at it, filled with thoughts of his numerous drinking adventures. Hello, Mother
“You know you don’t have to come with me, right? It’s not like he is going to beat me just like he did several years ago.” Jason said to Brenda who was helping him out with his jacket. The news on the internet was getting a lot of attention from even different countries, and knowing that it wasn’t going to die down if he didn’t do anything about it, Jason decided to pay his foster parents a visit that night, discarding his initial plans to go see them the next day. “You are not going to be able to talk me out of this, Jay. I suggest you quit your attempts and allow me to come with you. Trust me, you are going to need me to support you, and I will always be by your side, Jay. No matter what.” Brenda’s words were helpful at that moment, and a bright smile appeared on Jason’s face, taking over his worried expression. “Thank you. As soon as he got the call from Brenda, Jason stepped out of the mansion and moved into the car. He drove to the hospital at once, and a few minutes after he parked the car, Brenda walked out of the building with her handbag carefully held with both hands. “Are you okay?” Jason asked, still staring at her even when she got into the car and slammed the door. “Yeah. Why?”“Nothing, love. I just wasn’t expecting that you would call me to come pick you up this early. It’s only been a few hours.” Jason looked at his Hublot wristwatch to ascertain that it wasn’t close to closing time yet. “Yeah…” Brenda grunted slowly, and after letting out the air she inhaled, she continued with a low tone. “I have just been feeling very tired lately, Jay. Even the patients I attended to noticed the difference. I think I will just rest today, probably by tomorrow I should be fine.” “Are you sure? Maybe we should go on a vacation or something. We should go…” Jason suggested, but Brenda shook her
