The Promise

Rose sighed heavily, but there was certainly no relief. She turned to look at Jason, and he could see that she was struggling not to let the tears gathered around her eyes drop.

“Hey? Hey? It’s okay. You don’t have to cry. It’s going to be okay. I promise.” Jason said calmly, taking her right hand, but his words were not enough to stop her from shedding another round of tears.

She sobbed bitterly, and even though she wiped the tears in her eyes with her left hand, more kept on flowing, and she kept on sniffling in an attempt to stop herself from crying.

“I just want to see my sister. She’s all I’ve got, I want to see her. Nadia…” She said with a shaky voice, as she constantly sniffled to get a grip on herself.

“I am sorry about your sister, Rose. But you need to know that everything is going to be alright.”

“No, it’s not!” Rose abruptly dragged her hand away from Jason’s soft grip, and then she wiped the remaining tears off her face and sniffled.
