The Rising Phoenix: Devisee’s escapade. Bank Record
Jason stared at the couple who were seated at the other side of the table, and he folded his arms without letting go of his smile. “Magistrate?” Gregory called out to Albert who was startled out of his thoughts at once. “Yes! Erm!” Albert picked up the file which he dropped on the table while listening to the record and flipped through at once without knowing the particular page of the documents he was supposed to stop at. Everyone was eager to know what he was going to say as they all stared at him, but it seemed like he was very confused, and didn’t know where to begin. Severally, he cleared his throat as he suddenly felt choked while he tried to get a grip on himself. “Is he alright?” Jason whispered to Gregory who chuckled slightly before giving him a response. “I guess he is unable to handle the panic that we put him into.” Gregory looked at the magistrate for a few seconds before he shook his head and brought down his elbows from the table while he waited to hear wha
The Rising Phoenix: Devisee’s escapade. Custody Granted
It was obvious to Jason that the Magistrate was going to attempt to hand over the custody of the child to Isabella even without a thorough analysis of the case, and he was prepared to carry out the plans that he had in mind. He pulled out his phone from his pocket without anyone knowing, and then he operated it for a few seconds before he returned it back to his picket and adjusted himself on his seat. Gregory wanted to speak up the moment he heard the Magistrate mention that Jason had no source of income, but he decided to remain calm since Jason told him he was going to handle things if they tried to get out of hand. Isabella and Clark were already smiling victoriously and were anticipating celebrating their success while they waited to hear what the Magistrate was going to say. “I have looked at the files presented by the two parties present at this court hearing, and after thorough analysis, I would say that the evidence provided by the Petitioner is not enough to declare
The Rising Phoenix: Devisee’s escapade. The Profile
For a few seconds, the room was quiet while everyone continued to stare at Jason who took a little break from speaking. Gregory leaned toward him, and when he was sure that he was paying attention to him, he spoke with a tone that only Jason could hear. “I think we might have to request for this to be adjourned until Monday, then I can try to fix this. I can be able to get the right Judge to handle this case, not this Psycho.” Gregory suggested, glaring at Albert who was very much uneasy. “No, Greg. I don’t have that kind of time. I want this ended at once, and I can move over to the next thing I have in mind, I cannot be going back and forth with this. It’s been long overdue.” Jason shook his head to disagree with Gregory who sighed before he leaned backward and waited to see what Jason was going to do. “Albert Wilson…” Jason picked up his phone and searched for the Magistrate’s profile while everyone including Isabella and her companions looked at him. “Aha! Here we go. Le

Jason chuckled almost immediately, looking at Clark who turned to look at him with a frown on his face. “What is funny? Huh?” “You, Clark. You are the one who is a joke right now. Do you really think you were going to bribe your way through this one alongside your lover? I thought you were smarter than this, but clearly, you didn't take note of the signs.”“What stupid signs are you talking about? He already gave his verdict!” “You mean your verdict? He just did what you paid him to do, or maybe you are holding any of his daughters, hostage, just like you did with the Doctor.” “That’s…” Clark wanted to speak, but he had to stop the moment he remembered what Jason did to the Magistrate, and he looked at the phone he was holding, causing Jason to chuckle at once. “Don’t worry, Clark. I already have everything that I need to prove that you kidnapped the Doctor’s family. I am sure that by the time Isabella here is arrested, she will mention that you aided her in the act.” Jason

“Sign here, please.” Gregory placed the documents on the table in front of the Magistrate and pointed to a spot at once. “You are making a very big mistake, Gregory. The Partners will be angry if they find out about this.” Albert said as he picked up his pen to sign the document, but Gregory scoffed at him almost immediately. “Let me worry about that, Albert. Thank you.” Gregory picked up the documents from the table and returned to his seat before putting them carefully inside the file in front of him. “All set?” Jason said to him, and he nodded in response without saying a word. “Very good.” Jason nodded twice, and then he turned to look at Isabella who was dumbfounded as more years streamed down her eyes. Her hands were shaking, and she sniffled severally while she attempted to get hold of herself. “Henry will be taken care of, you don’t have to worry about that. He is my son, and I will do everything I can to make him happy. I hope this teaches you a lesson, and you have

“Don’t try to fight this, I am warning the both of you. It would only get messier for you if you try to fight this. I suggest you try to think about your lives.” Jason said calmly before he took a break for a few seconds while he concentrated his gaze on Isabella who suddenly felt squeezed and choked in her black velvet gown. “Isabella? A storm is coming for you and your family, and I hope that you will be able to withstand the pressure. Nah, I don’t think you will be able to, because it would be so turbulent that it would take you by surprise.” Jason sniggered, and then he turned to look at the Magistrate who bent his face in shame at once. “I suggest you have a rethink or you will suffer greatly for your actions!” Jason took in a deep breath, and after letting it out slowly, he cleared his throat before he continued. “Well, it’s been an amazing event, but I have to get going right away. Gentle men and lady? See you some other time, or maybe not.” Jason turned to look at Grego

In less than thirty minutes, they were able to arrive in front of the hospital after beating the morning traffic. Jason got out of the car even before James could get out to open the door for him, and he dashed into the hospital as fast as he could with thoughts of anticipation roaming in his mind. His face was not bright, but it had flickers of hope scattered all over it. “Good morning, Sir.” Greeted one of the nurses at the reception, and Jason quickly stopped after he almost walked past her as his mind was already focused on seeing his Grandfather. “Oh! I am so sorry. Good morning.” “No problem, Sir. How may I help you?” The nurse asked with a smile that expressed the fact that she recognized Jason even though she had to find out where he was headed. “Can I see the Doctor?” “You mean Doctor Brenda?” “Yes! Yes, please! Can I see her?” “Sure! Just a moment, please.” The nurse nodded with a smile, and then she picked up the telephone to dial a number while Jason waited

“I hope I am not disturbing you guys,” Brenda said as she walked toward the old man with her face brightened up as she held onto the saucer and the cup with a firm grip. “Oh! Doctor? You are here!” Lord Walker said as soon as he saw Brenda who dropped the saucer on the cabinet close to the bed, and lifted the cup with her left hand while she stirred the coffee with her right hand. “Here is your coffee, Lord Walker. Black, no sugar, and with a lot of cream.” Brenda removed the spoon from the cup and hit it on the brim of the cup to make a clanking sound just before she slowly handed the cup over to the old man. “Thank you. It smells nice.” Lord Walker dropped the magazine on the bed, and then he grabbed the cup from Brenda and took a sip with his eyes open. “Mmmh!” He nodded in satisfaction after he had tasted the coffee, and slowly he opened his eyes to look at Brenda who completely avoided having any eye contact with Jason who couldn’t stop staring at her. “Thank you, Docto

Shirley
For over an hour, Jason and the Butler remained seated, waiting patiently for Brenda to return with some news. The silence between them was laced with a little tension, but they were hopeful that something positive was going to come out of their adventure. Ignoring the lady who was secretly taking pictures of him with her smart phone, Jason adjusted himself before clearing his throat. He turned to face Harry, and spoke with a low tone. “Harry? Can I ask you something?” “Sure, Young Master! Anything at all.” Harry adjusted slowly, ready to hear what Jason was going to say to him. “Do you think the boy will be willing to come with us if he is real? Again, how do you think I am meant to handle a situation like this? I mean, the boy could be in a very bad mess, and I would have to pull him out of it.” Jason sighed, unable to discard the worrisome look on his face. But the middle-aged man had a smile on his face, and before giving him a response, he chuckled softly. “I know y

Joe’s Cafe
The waitress discovered that two men were walking toward her, and adjusting herself with a welcoming smile on her face, she greeted them warmly. “Hello, Sir. Welcome to Joe’s Café. Do you need anything?” “Yes. Hello. We are looking for a lady called Shirley. I was told she works here.” Jason said with a smile as well, looking at the waitress whose countenance showed that she didn’t know who he was talking about. “Shirley? I don’t think I know any Shirley who works here, Sir. I am new here, but I can get you someone who could know.” “Yes, please! Thank you so much.” Harry said calmly, gesturing to the waitress who nodded before walking away, holding onto the small notepad and pen she had in her hands. “I really hope this ends well,” Jason said with a whisper, sighing firstly while he kept his eyes on the path the waitress took. The waitress returned in less than a minute with another waitress who looked older and more experienced than her. “Hello, Sirs. My name is Nora. I

Bring Him Home
For a few seconds, Jason remained silent, but it didn’t seem like that was going to solve anything. The old man was still waiting to get a response from him, and Harry was interested to know the outcome of their meeting as well. Adjusting himself to get a more comfortable posture, Jason cleared his throat and sighed before he spoke with a voice that almost sounded like a whisper. “He has a son.” He said calmly, but his words were too heavy for the other men in the room to remain as calm as he was. Lord Walker knew Jason to be a man who didn’t joke with such things but for a second, he remained calm, hoping that he was going to say he was joking. Maybe he meant to say something else. “A son?” “Yes, Grandpa. He has a son.” “Julius has a son?” Lord Walker leaned forward, and grabbed the half-empty glass of water which he consumed before returning it to the table. “Are you okay, Lord Walker?” Harry asked, moving closer to the old man who raised his hands to stop him from g

The rays from the sunlight were shining brightly through the casement windows inside the bedroom. The curtains were half closed, giving way to the rays that hit Brenda’s eyes while she groaned in her sleep. As though there was a force, she opened her eyes instantly, only to behold the sight of shirtless Jason sitting close to her with a tray in both hands. “Wakie wakie! I was worried that too were not going to wake up on time to see this.” Jason had a beautiful smile on his face while he looked at Brenda who adjusted herself slowly, sitting up while she looked at the tray he was carrying. “What’s that?” “Oh! This? I made you breakfast! I had to wake up early just to make sure that everything worked as I planned. Here…” Jason opened the dish cover to reveal the egg and sausages on the plate next to a cup of black coffee. “I tried making the coffee just like you do. I hope I tried.” Jason handed the cup of coffee to Brenda who blew on the coffee before taking a sip. “Easy! I

Special Announcement
While everyone sat comfortably, eating and drinking everything that had been set on the table, Jason picked up the glass of wine in front of him, and after looking at his Grandfather and getting the signal from him, he nodded before lifting the glass. “I have a special announcement!” He hit his fork on the brim of the glass, drawing the attention of everyone seated at the table who instantly put a hold t what they were doing, and paid keen attention to him. Everyone seemed curious to know what he was about to say except the old man who was already done eating his veggies and wiped his lips with a napkin while he maintaining a grin on his face. “First of all, I want to thank Harry for bringing his lovely family to dinner. It’s such a pleasure to have you all here. Family is everything, family is life, and I am happy that he has such a beautiful family.” Jason lifted the glass toward Harry who bowed gently, still wondering what he was up to. “Harry here has been working with thi

Butler’s Family
Jason was the first to step out of the hot tub before Brenda joined him. Handing over one of the two towels he grabbed to her, he gave her a lovely smile which made her blush while she grabbed the towel, and wrapped her body with it. “You are still staring.” Brenda said with her smile intact, but Jason couldn’t take his eyes away from her, not even for a second. “What am I going to ever do without you? You have brought me so much joy, Brenda.” “Nothing, Jay. You are going to do nothing.” Brenda chuckled while Jason nodded without getting rid of his smile. “You are right. Absolutely nothing, that’s what I am going to do if I ever lose you.” “Well, I am not leaving anytime soon. I am here with you, my love.” Brenda patted Jason on both cheeks before she turned and walked toward the bedroom, holding onto her towel with both hands. “We must hurry, Jay! We are having guests, remember?”“Oh, right! I almost forgot about that!” Jason rushed into the room, and got dressed alongsi

Price to Pay
For a few seconds Jason was silent while he exchanged glances with the couple, not sure of who he was to face. It was obvious that they were expecting to hear him speak, but the silence in the room was killing them, having more effect on Lucas who couldn’t forget the words he said to him. He was afraid that the day of reckoning had come, and it was time to pay for all his crimes. Still unable to stop himself from finger mg, especially at the sight of Ramon who gave him threatening looks, Lucas decided to grab his bottle, hoping to get back some of his composure from a gulp. “What’s that?” Jason’s calm words stopped Lucas from grabbing the bottle from the ground, causing him to remain still while he lifted his face slowly to look at him, patches of guilt all over his face. “I can’t believe this.” Jason scoffs. “You really want to drink right now. You have really drowned yourself in so much alcohol. I bet you dream of drinking while you sleep.” Jason sighed softly, and remain

Everyone remained silent amidst the tension that surrounded the air. While Lucas kept his eyes on Jason who remained still with a smirk on his face, he struggled with the contemplation of either remaining where he was standing, or moving backward. For a second, he took two steps backward, but because it felt as though his body no longer belonged to him, he couldn’t move afterward. “Hello… Dad. I see you haven’t left your old habits.” Jason pointed at the bottle of whiskey which Lucas tightly held onto even in the midst of the cringe that engulfed him. “It’s you.” Lucas’ voice was shaky. And while he held onto the half-empty bottle, he gently lifted it up to look at it, filled with thoughts of his numerous drinking adventures. It was true that he was intoxicated at that moment, but the sight of Jason and his companions made the effects of the whiskey wear off at once, leaving him to struggle with the situation. “I am just going to let myself in. Excuse me…” Jason gestured to

Hello, Mother
“You know you don’t have to come with me, right? It’s not like he is going to beat me just like he did several years ago.” Jason said to Brenda who was helping him out with his jacket. The news on the internet was getting a lot of attention from even different countries, and knowing that it wasn’t going to die down if he didn’t do anything about it, Jason decided to pay his foster parents a visit that night, discarding his initial plans to go see them the next day. “You are not going to be able to talk me out of this, Jay. I suggest you quit your attempts and allow me to come with you. Trust me, you are going to need me to support you, and I will always be by your side, Jay. No matter what.” Brenda’s words were helpful at that moment, and a bright smile appeared on Jason’s face, taking over his worried expression. “Thank you. I am glad you are coming with me, Brenda.” “Good. That’s all I needed you to say.” “But you have to go to work tomorrow, and I know how much you love
