Chapter 5

Jeremy looked back at Tristan and the phone screen that Tristan had shown him. The amount of money he saw was huge, and he couldn't believe it. He grabbed Tristan's phone and looked at it more closely than before.

He paused, swallowing saliva was quite tricky now because of the interconnectedness within himself.

"This can't be..."

Jeremy wasn't the only one who couldn't believe that Tristan was a man with money. Lucy looked at the man who worked as a delivery man so intently.

"You can't judge people by their looks." Tristan spoke with a hint of arrogance, he looked at Jeremy and capitalized on their connection immediately. He again grabbed the cell phone held by Jeremy and looked forward to what they had at stake.

His right hand was outstretched, and his expression was cold looking at the man before him.

"You didn't forget that you had a bet with me, did you? Give me your car keys at once."

Tristan said in a loud voice. He was fortunate because today he got a prize of 15 million dollars and a luxury car. Even if he still worked at that good company, he was sure that even next year he would not be able to have this car and 15 million dollars.

Jeremy stepped back slightly, gripping his car keys tightly. Even if he was rich, he wouldn't be willing to give his car to the midget man in front of him. He met Lucy only to make her even more discouraged and humiliated. Because she comes from a wealthier family, Lucy often treats him coldly.

Until the self-effacing Jeremy approaches another woman from another family that is hostile to the Green family, he plays Lucy in front of the crowd and makes it seem no big deal. When he again saw Lucy with a poorly dressed man, he was able to insult her. But now... she was getting something that shocked her.

"You don't want to give it to me? Even though you confidently and arrogantly invited me to bet." Tristan chuckled, he looked Jeremy up and down.

"You said it Jeremy, and we are all witnesses. Tristan has more money than you say, of course he wins."

Lucy stepped forward, she liked the panicked look on Jeremy's face. Seeing that Jeremy was still unwilling to give up what was really Tristan's thing, Lucy snatched the car keys out of his hand.

"Lucy!"

"Shut up, loser. You want to just run away after losing a bet!? I'm sure if you win this bet you'll try to step on Tristan and humiliate him." Lucy gave him a cold stare. She grinned with the satisfaction that her heartache over this man's attitude had finally been avenged sooner than anticipated.

"You..." Jeremy was so embarrassed to be the spectacle of the people there.

They whispered and made his small pride even smaller.

"Yeah, just take that cheap car. I still have other cars, he's just being lucky to have such little money. I'm pretty sure his little money will run out soon." Jeremy was being pretentious, he even laughed once to keep his pride.

The people there looked at Jeremy with narrowed eyes and spoke again.

"Is that guy crazy? He talks so much. Does he really have as much money as that guy he insulted?" a woman who had been insulting Tristan was now insulting him.

"I'm not sure he has money. He's probably panicking right now about how he's going to get home." A man laughed after saying that. He was pleased to see Jeremy's panicked demeanour.

He was even more annoyed to be there, and the embarrassed Jeremy immediately turned around and ran away from there while keeping a small voice. Tristan could tell he was furious about what happened, but he didn't care.

"This is your gift. Congratulations." Lucy placed the car keys in Tristan's hand. He thanked her and looked in disbelief at the car keys in his hand.

After the gathered people left, Tristan and Lucy looked at the vehicle before them.

"Can you drive a car?" Lucy asked. She didn't look at Tristan.

"I can. I've driven a car before." Tristan felt lucky because when he worked, he was always required to do many things that were not his job.

This time Lucy looked at Tristan, she did not hide her curiosity about this man.

"How come you have that much money?" asked Lucy with great curiosity, she bit her lip a little for having such a wild thought, but then she said it. "Are you a rich man's son in disguise?" Lucy asked probingly. She wanted to know more than this.

"No, I'm an orphan. I can't tell you that, Lucy."

Lucy didn't mind that. Everyone had their own secrets.

"Then let's go back, don't you want to take your bike from my house or don't you need it anymore?" Lucy asked with a faint smile.

Tristan stood up resolutely. He remembered the 15% in the notification that appeared in front of him, he was sure that it had to reach 100%, and if he lost all his equipment to do the task, it could be a problem for him later.

"I'll go to your house and get my bike."

Lucy nodded once, and they both got into their respective cars. Tristan was driving well, and since someone was watching from a distance, he witnessed an unexpected thing that almost made his heart explode.

"He... how can he have 15 million dollars in savings?" Celine bit her own nails. She was highly agitated and disappointed in herself.

She felt so stupid for letting Tristan go for a man who didn't have that much money. She rubbed her face, and someone touched her shoulder, instantly making Celine's whole body jolt.

"Do-Dony?"

"What have you been noticing since earlier? Aren't you coming in to meet my friends, Celine?" Dony invited her with a slight tug on her hand. Without even saying anything, Celine immediately followed Dony.

But inside her, she had a great desire to have what she really had to have since before. "I can't just let this go. Tristan, we've been together for several months, that woman must have been a trick."

Celine braced herself with what she had just thought, and she quickly put on a fake expression in front of Dony's other friends, who were also rich but not too rich. They prepared many expensive drinks on the table and liked to show off their wealth by wearing expensive things on their bodies.
