Sixty two

It started drizzling when they left Cole's residence. The autumn weather was slightly chilly.

Dylan has been thinking about what his godmother said so he asked after they got into their car. "So, god–mother, weird to call you that."

Stephanie smiled and looked at him. "Just call me Steph, that's fine."

Dylan nodded. "So everything you said about my uncle, was it all true? Was he really involved in the fraud case?"

Stephanie nodded. "Yeah. He was. Your mom told me all about it at the time they were looking for ways to clear your father's case."

"But…how come I didn't know anything? They didn't confide in me. They didn't put me in the loop…"

"They didn't want you worried…"

"I wasn't a kid. I was an adult." Dylan snapped in annoyance. "I knew something wasn't right. I knew my dad was innocent but he told me he was gonna handle it. Then before we knew it, the board voted us out as CEO and director, things escalated and they died. If they had told me things, I would have been of help."
