Chapter 71

The officer led Georgia through the narrow, dimly lit corridors of the prison, each step feeling heavier than the last.

Georgia’s mind was still reeling from the unexpected news of a visitor. She couldn’t imagine who would come to see her after everything that had transpired.

As they approached the designated room for visitors, Georgia’s heart pounded in her chest. She couldn’t help but hope that it was Greg, who was standing on the other side of that door. The thought of seeing him again after all that had happened stirred a mix of emotions within her.

The officer opened the door, and Georgia stepped inside the small, plain room.

It had a table with chairs on either side, separated by a transparent screen. On one side, she took her seat, trying to compose herself as she waited for the visitor.
