Georgia’s eyes widened at the unexpected offer. She hadn’t thought about reaching out to Greg, but now that Mara had mentioned it, a part of her felt compelled to do so.

However, she quickly tried to diminish her thought, vivid memories of how she had broken his heart and treated him poorly resurfacing.

“Oh well… about that, maybe it’s better for me not to bother him,” Georgia replied, attempting to hide her mixed emotions behind a crooked smile. “I mean, what could I possibly say to him after everything that happened…?”

“You never know until you try,” Mara replied with a reassuring smile. “But if I were you, I would try it. Greg is a kind and understanding person, and I believe that he would appreciate hearing something from you, even if it’s just to let him know how you’re doing.”
