CHAPTER 212

Amelie was a curly-haired girl who appeared naive at first sight. Even her dressing style was modest, and so it was likely for her to be mistaken for a village girl.

“What are you doing here?” Roddick asked her, a hint of intimidation flowing through his voice. “I’m sure you are supposed to be in school, but you’re having fun in the park.”

Amelie couldn’t look into Roddick's eyes. Her mother worked as a maid at Roddick’s house, so she was very afraid of him telling her mother about seeing her in the zoo park.

“I-I wasn’t having fun, sir. I came here to see animals,” Amelie responded, sweat forming on her neck.

“Are you telling me that you came alone to roam this big-ass zoo all by yourself?” Roddick’s voice grew rough. “That’s highly unlikely. Your boyfriend is probably around here somewhere, so you can tell him to get on the bus. I wouldn’t tell your mom, so tell him to come over.”
