Gage secretly paid a chef and made him pack some of the dishes, and THEN he returned to Regan who was waiting to fill his belly.

After sniffing the dishes like a hungry old hound, he looked at Gage, “You don’t want to eat?”

“I already did, sir,” Gage said, remembering how he forced Irene to sit and eat with him even though she told him she should work as she was the receptionist. Still, he said he would pay for her, and so she hurriedly ate with him, or so he thought. What Gage didn’t know was that the staff members could freely eat once a day at the hotel.

Without waiting, Regan tasted one dish after another, though he couldn’t eat more than a little bit of every dish because he was an old man with not so much digestive power anymore.
