Russell’s body reacted instantly the moment he saw the man in the van holding a gun, currently aimed at Tom.

Russell pushed the bench backward. It was a heavy wooden bench, but against Russell’s strength it turned over, making both Russell and Tom fall back.

BANG~! BANG~!

The man in the van shot two times at once. The bullets hit the bench. He shot again from an angle and hoped that the bullets hit at least one of them as the van didn’t stop.

Russell quickly got up and looked for the vehicle’s number plate, but the words ‘fuck you’ were written on them. “Which bastard is behind this?” He then returned to Tom and checked upon his condition. None of the bullets hit him, but his shoulder was dislocated from the fall.

Russell learned about fixing the shoulder during his martial art training, so he fixed his teacher’s shoulder in no time.

“Do you feel better now?” Russell asked, helping him get up.

“I think I’ll live,” Tom’s face was still a bit rigid. “Which motherfucker attacked us

A special thanks to Mickey Ritch for 100 gem support. I know that you are a regular reader of this novel because you vote often. Hope you're enjoying the novel. I've seen your comment on some chapter. You wanted a fight between Russell and Roddick. That's definitely going to happen, but it's going to need a bigger stage. As for who(Kyra or Jessica) that Russell will end up with, that's going to be revealed after a plot twist. I've already given the hints and foreshadowing to that in a lot of places, so it's not impossible to guess. Also, thanks to Charlie Mcmillen, Tony, for their gem support and Sivaprakash for his comment support as well. Hope you're all doing well. Some of the dark concepts I'm handling in this novel happen in real life, and I hope this knowledge will help you in some way in real life. Cheers.

Tom came back into the house and couldn’t sit still after knowing that Russell had gone out to deal with a drug cartel all alone. He didn’t know if staying in this house was a good idea or not, but would these gangsters really dare to come into the house and attack in broad daylight? He came into the hall to talk to Jessica.Jessica was looking at the female photo in the hall. “Is that your wife’s?”“Yes.” Tom smiled and said.“She’s so beautiful,” Jessica said because the picture was of when Rachel was young. “Her curly hairstyle… is very attractive.”Tom’s smile stayed on his lips for a little longer. “Your hairstyle is cool, too.”“Thanks. Russell told me about her,” Jessica said. “I’m sorry for what happened.”Tom’s smile somewhat dwindled. “Many adults over 60 are getting Alzheimer's these days for various reasons such as avoiding cholesterol by eating only egg whites or skinless chicken and whatnot. In a supermarket store, with a closed-for-today sign at the door, Zhero and his men were injecting liquids into fruits and were mixing powder in drinks after unsealing and then sealing them with the help of certain machinery devices. The manager of the store was cooperating with Zhero, but he still looked anxious because he was doing it without receiving permission from his boss.“Be careful. Don’t mix too much in anything,” the manager worriedly said. “If some customer were to spot something wrong, they’d come and cause ruckus at my store. If it starts at one store, it’ll soon spread to other stores as well.”“Ah, c’mon, friend,” Zhero put his arm around the manager’s shoulder. “We’ve been selling plastic vegetables and grains to your customers for over a year, and yet these people are too dumb to notice it.”“Well, that’s because we’re maintaining the right ratio. If we mix too much plastic, then they’ll definitely find out,” the manager replied. “And we normally don’t do this in th

Russell casually entered the supermarket through the back door and closed it. It wasn’t dark inside the storeroom, but there wasn’t enough light either because of minimum ventilation. Without being seen by Zhero, two men were exchanging a single cigar made with a potent drug. They were too involved in what they were doing to bother about Russell who smashed their heads in.The smell of the cigar made Russell feel strange, but he didn’t have the time to worry about it because the other workers heard the noise of the men falling to the floor. Russell made use of the display racks to hide himself and target either one or two workers at a time. Grabbing one’s mouth from behind and landing a knuckle punch on the temple did the trick. While walking around, Russell saw all the powder and liquids they were mixing with the grocery products. “Mixing drugs in food products? What the hell are these bastards up to?” What he saw motivated him even more to take these gangsters down. After Russell t

Along with the police officers, an ambulance also arrived at the supermarket. Russell and Zhero were taken in the ambulance while the police dealt with the gangsters that were still in the bathroom.Russell asked the nurses to not give him any anesthesia before removing the bullets out of him. They said, it’ll hurt. Russell said he wouldn’t mind if it hurt him.As Russell cringed in pain while the bullets were plucked out, Zhero snorted, “You are so stupid, brat. You have no idea who you just messed with.”“I just stopped criminals from poisoning the people,” Russell said. “How is that stupid? Even if I die for doing a good thing, I’m fine with it.”“Bullshit. People are all selfish to the core. There’s nothing wrong with profiting off of them,” Zhero blurted energetically. “The drug companies don’t do well if the people are doing so well. That’s why, there’s nothing wrong with making people sick with food and then selling medicine to them.”Russell kicked in Zhero’s face, shocking t

Russell’s treatment went well. The senior doctor had sent a video snippet to Liam before leaving the room.A nurse hurriedly entered the room, wanting to inject Russell with a poison before he woke up. However, to her surprise, Russell was awake and was eating an apple. “Hello, Miss,” Russell smiled at her. “You look tense. Is something wrong?” he asked her because she froze at the entrance. “Do you want an apple?”“U-Uh,” she didn't know what to say. If she were to turn around and leave, her life and her family members’ lives would be in danger. So, she approached the bed. “I came to administer a medicine.”“Medicine?” Russell could see the injection in her hands. “You can do anything you want, except inoculate me.”“Pardon?” she brought the needle closer to him anyway.“I said, don’t shove that thing in me,” Russell’s voice turned serious. “Call the senior doctor if you want. He’s already approved to give me medicine through the form of consumable liquids and pills.”“It’s gonna be

After much thinking, Russell called Liam and told what happened in the hospital. Straight away, Liam sent a security unit, which safely escorted Russell to the Lynn estate.Liam was waiting for him in the hall. After seeing Russell in bandages, Liam’s expression slightly changed. “You’ve done well to survive. Can you sit on the couch? We’ll have a little talk.”“Sure, sir.” Russell sat down with effort.Liam told the security guys to leave, and they walked out of the building and closed the doors.“You’ve put your whole feet in a mire made out of cow dung, Russell,” Liam said calmly. “It’s an open secret that even small drug companies these days are not independent owners but are owned by bigger companies. So, only a few big companies have the say in the pharma industry. Those guys hold power world wide.”“Isn’t there anything we can do against them?”“Since I’m personally intervening, I’ll stop them from touching you again,” Liam assured confidently. “But I need you to promise me tha

Russell spent more than an hour talking with Liam about many things. After Russell insisted that he’d be at Tom’s house because Tom and Jessica needed his presence there, Liam agreed to drop him there personally. When they walked out of the house together, Russell was surprised to see Alpha Wolfe car outside. Liam opened the hood of the car and poured what looked like water into the tank.“W-What are you doing, sir?” Russell asked with an almost petrified expression.Alpha Wolfe was an all-electric car, so why was Liam pouring water into what looked like a tank?“I’m just pouring water, because this thing runs on water, too, just as it can run on electricity,” Liam said casually.Russell raised his brows. “You sure know how to joke.”“I wasn’t joking though,” Liam kept at it. “This car was developed by the Wolfe family. My mom managed to buy it somehow from them who are much more mysterious than the three supreme families. And they’ve built many groundbreaking things that are far more

He didn’t build this facility but his grandfather did. Normally,Jonathan wouldn’t give appointments to even the president of the country, but he was willing to talk with Liam now. In fact, he invited Liam to the tenth floor underground, where Jonathan was currently researching on killing mice with common cold and other easily bearable illnesses. There were too many bizarre experiments taking place on each floor. There were hundreds of workers, all of whom were probably people with an IQ over 150. Jonathan didn’t speak with Liam straight away but made him watch what he was doing. He pressed a button that released radiation in the glas
